Grateful bread has some of the best scones. We went to Pacific City for the day and it was such a great place!

We are (self-proclaimed!) biscuit & gravy aficionados & these are probably the best we've ever had! The biscuits were buttery & flaky & served warm under a generous serving of gravy! No skimping on the amazing gravy here! The gravy had a little kick to it, probably from the sausage, but just enough to let you know your mouth is alive! The gravy was the perfect consistency- not too thick & not too runny! Truly amazing B&G!!! We also had a half order of French toast & yum! The challah bread was subtly sweet & nicely complimented the Marion berry compote! Grateful Bread is not just the best because it's one of the only breakfast joints in town- it's the best because it's the best! read more

I loved this spot. We were seated quickly (a party of 6 on a Saturday!) and our wonderful server quickly got us some drinks. The menu was huge. Our food was delicious and the walls around us were adorned with local art, less now that we've been there. When we paid our bill we of course got a few baked items to have later, not much later, but those were delicious too. read more

The food was fantastic - yummy scones, delicious breakfast bowl! However...the service was awful. Our server took our order, which included coffee. Someone else delivered our food, and we had to ask them for coffee. Our server never came back to ask us if we needed more coffee, water, or anything else except to drop off the bill. Someone else picked up our payment. We got more attention from other servers and the host than our own. For the price, we were really dissapointed. read more

We used to love this place. Been there several times. Visit yesterday was not so great. Waited a bit to be seated, waited a long time to get coffee, waited an even longer time for food. When it arrived it wasn't all that great. The potatoes tasted like hotel breakfast potatoes that had been cooked and sitting for a long time. The quiche was a small piece of quiche, tasted OK but not great. The sourdough bread was awesome however served with wannabe strawberry jam. We probably won't go back. read more

Very charming place in nice older building that has really been spruced up inside, they make their own baked goods and they are all great. The best scones I've ever tasted. They have a nice selection of breakfast and lunch options with interesting ingredients. We had the farmers omelette and French toast, both excellent. We will definitely be stopping in whenever we are in the area. You must give it a try though on the weekends you may have a wait, it's worth it. read more

A fun cutesy little place for breakfast in Pacific city. Tasty baked goods and hearty portions to keep up filled for a day of vacation. The wait was quite long, especially in the summer and there wasn't a very good spot to wait. We should have planned on arriving earlier as we waited almost an hour to be seated. We did grab a tasty scone while we were waiting for a table. Our meals were tasty but not particularly memorable. Worth visiting or the novelty value, but would not go out of our way to return. read more

The service and ambiance was nice. Was looking forward to the French dip but it was off their menu. They substituted it with a turkey dip. Not the same as the waitress said the meat was processed turkey. We opted for their tomato soup and special. The soup was ok. I did buy a couple of scones on the way out and they were delicious. Funky, fun place in the middle of quaint old Pacific Ciry, Grateful Bread serves some amazing breakfasts and pastries. Large set of choices for everyone including vegans but we chose some delicious eggs; I got a ham and brie omelette which was memorable- but what was even memorable was the exquisite scones and cookies we got here. The only thing more mediocre than the service was the food. Go if you are hungry. It feels like it's the first day for everyone working.

HORRIBLE!!! Picked up a loaf of bread and took it home and it was completely raw inside. Tried to give another chance. We called on Thursday and asked if we should just come in for a party of three or make a reservation. They told us to make a reservation for 1 hr later so we did. We came in 1 hour later and they told us they just gave our table away. They said since we were running 5 min late they couldn't tolerate tardiness...even though we have a six month old infant with us he said he didn't care. I have never experienced such abrasive and rude service in my life. Stay far away from this place. read more

while the drive-thru has always been great, this time we went inside to sit. We waited a horribly long time for our food. Other people who were seated after us - 4 other tables - were served before us. When we asked the waitress about it she was rude. Several minutes later she asked us if we wanted something else while we were waiting. ? I am talking a hour waiting while still serving other people who came in later. update: waitress did apologize and did not charge us. read more

Fabulous bakery! We stopped for breakfast. Lots of great options, especially if you like scrambled egg combos. My husband had the smoked salmon with scrambled eggs. I had the quiche of the day. We also shared a gingerbread pancake. We both had coffee, but neither of us were a fan. But the potatoes were yummy -love that seasoning. The staff here is super chill, which fits in great with a mellow day at the beach. They accept credit cards, which some of the local restraints do NOT. Even better, you can call in your order and pick it up In the drive through! I wanted to give them 5 stars but.... Our order was wrong. I ordered the Farmers omelet with a biscuit and Marionberry jelly (they make their own!). My partner ordered the same thing with toast and strawberry jelly. What we got was all toast-all strawberry jelly. And a huge heads up: THEY DIDN'T PROVIDE UTENSILS OR NAPKINS. It never occurred to us to ask, maybe that's a city thing, but thank the Flying Spaghetti Monster for glove box utensils! The food was good. Portions are average (at least on take-out). I enjoyed the fried potatoes and wished there were more. The potatoes in the omelets are not the same ones. They pack in very environmental friendly packaging. read more

Ok so we've been wanting to try this place. We are depoe Bay locals but occasionally come to pacific city for the drive on beach. Anyhoo, we got here at 9:10. Seated at 9:22. Finally got water at 9:30. 9:36 finally asked what we want to eat. At that time I asked for more creamer, was told no problem however 10 more min go by and I have to walk up front and ask for it cause she forgot (not surprised). Oh and folks at table behind us got their order taken first. Organization here is hideous. I counted 6 girls just in the up front area but they were all running around accomplishing nothing it seemed. One waitress came by to apologize for the slow service but did nothing to make it better. Actually flat out told us "the service is horrible here but the food is really good" ummm ok. Never got a refill on the coffee. Ok, it's not all bad. Side of bacon is 4 pieces and is thin and crispy-delicious Potatoes were crispy and cooked perfectly. Blueberry pancake was good. Salmon scramble was good. Sourdough toast was awesome. Got a cinnamon roll to go and meh, it was super heavy and dense and not cooked all the way through. We don't plan to come here again and I'd highly suggest they figure out how to get their act together and get organized. Forgetting your tables, not showing up to at least acknowledge your tables is just bad. read more

We have not visited in a couple of years. Once awesome service & incredible crew is gone. One overwhelmed & very forgetful server taking care of the whole house. Food was not good and very expensive. Watched the owner grabbing baked goods from the counter with her bare hands after just pouring coffee & grabbing OJ from the fridge, no handwashing. No butter served with pancakes. No refill on coffee. Such a polar opposite experience to what we've had for many, many years. So sad. Not sure we will make an effort to patronize this once loved location any longer. read more

We are not from Oregon, so anything with marionberries in it is a real treat for us. The French toast with marionberry compote is a big piece of heaven. The challah bread foundation is thick, but as light as a cloud. We bought a few scones as we walked in (when they are gone, they are gone, so don't wait). When we left, we took some mega-huge chocolate chip cookies and they were unbelievably delicious too. Our waitress was a hoot, and very efficient. The place is charming and although slightly off the main road, it's well worth finding. read more

Red potatoes had too much Rosemary for my taste. Don't expect to see a bunch of Grateful Dead memorabilia, they mainly use the name/names of songs ect... Cute, clean place.
