Having never seriously injured myself as an adult, when I was told I had severed a nerve and a couple tendons that would require surgery coupled with the need to seek out a Certified Hand Therapist for at least the next 6-12 months for physical therapy, my head was absolutely spinning. Jenn is amazing!! Can't say enough about her. Best hand therapist ever!! I cut my hand really bad with a grinder. It lacerated my tendon and nerve. When I started with her two weeks ago I could barely move my middle and ring fingers. I was honestly kind of afraid to even try. I really had no idea what to do for hand physical therapy. For my first appointment Jenn worked with me for about an hour in a one on one setting and by the next day my hand felt way better. I probably gained 30% mobility in that one day. She also sent me home with a whole bunch of exercises and toys to work on my hand everyday, twice a day. It all helped tremendously!! I'm an author, so I tap keys most of the day, and I love to play tennis, so it was a huge concern to me a few months ago when I had shooting pains into my right thumb. I have been to four different therapists for torn ligaments in my wrist. There are two I would recommend, one is in Burbank the other is Jenn at Grasp Hand Therapy. She knows her stuff and does a really good job of rehabbing your injury. Additionally, during this time of social distancing her setup is about as good as it can get since she does only one on one sessions with each patient. I saw Jen for 2.5 months for hand therapy after having surgery on a broken finger. Firstly, it was effective: mobility, range of motion and strength are all restored on my finger and hand. Secondly, her "bedside" manner is excellent: she is very professional and gives explanations for her methods or the kinds of exercises she makes me do, at the same time she is very considerate and friendly. The attention you get with her is very personalized. Lastly, she is very honest: at one point she told me I could start going to therapy less frequently (even though that meant a lower revenue from me). I have worked with Jenn over the course of about 9 months regarding a wrist injury. She is a very compassionate and knowledgeable wrist therapist who means the best for her patients. After my doctor suggested carpal tunnel surgery or getting cortisone shots, I knew there had to be another way. The effectiveness and side effects of those methods are horrible. From what I've researched they rarely fix the issue and just mask the symptom, and can actually make the recovery process longer. I decided to be more active about my carpal tunnel and tendinitis. Jenn has taught me a lot about what causes my flare ups, a few small behavior changes to minimize the flare ups, as well as exercises and stretches to help heal my muscles and tendons. I can't say enough wonderful things about Jenn at Grasp Hand Therapy. I was referred to her by a doctor who highly recommended her for injury related arthritis in my thumb. Jen is amazing! My wrist surgeon referred me to her after a triple fracture. I saw her for six months and highly recommend her. Her focus on scar healing, strength, flexibility and range of motion brought me to restoration. She is compassionate and caring. She is firm with the therapy needed. She assesses any secondary symptoms to correct strain. She advises well to prevent further injury. I remember a couple times my memory of the trauma of my injury came up and we worked through that too. Jen is empathetic!
