When I arrived at the business that same afternoon, I was greeted rudely by an employee who was working on a project and acted as if I was disrupting his work. He barked some questions at me and then took my pages, binded them, and demanded $10.53 for his work and "labor". This was not the quote I was told over the phone and when I said this, he continued to talk down to me, and I payed the $10.53 to avoid any further conflict. Not a good way to be running a business with such rude and disrespectful employees who don't want to help. Better transparency with your quotes and pricing would also be beneficial.

The layout of how I needed the photos for framing was complicated and I really needed a lab who had a quick turnaround of quality work, and spoke my language as a photographer! Cara and her team worked miracles for me and were just the absolute best. Not only that, but Cara was able to make recommendations on color and make any last minute editing that I was unable to catch. I am so enormously grateful to Stubblefield Photo, and would highly recommend them to anybody!

So welcome to the best little frame shop in the Milky Way galaxy. And now that's out of the way, let's talk about the family side of the business. John, the original owner was a peach of a man. Always looking up from whatever he was doing to offer his full attention and guidance. He was so good that, after a few projects, I'd just call him and tell him what I needed and what room it was for and he'd take it from there. When I learned that John had passed away unexpectedly, I knew Charlottesville had lost a true artisan and friend. What I didn't know was that his son Billy is every bit as good (if not a wee bit better). Same great spirit, same great work, and a pure delight to be around. If you must give these people your business, do not deal with Jeff Duncan as he will rip you off!! Not to mention T&N printing, in downtown Charlottesville, has the same printers as Printsource and is even cheaper than what Ben quoted me at. Do yourself a favor, shop around before you decide to do business with this shop, and avoid Jeff Duncan at all costs if you do.
