Stayed in this hostel on a number of occasions and all I can say is that it is my home from home!! The owner is more than welcoming and generous, taking care of all of ones needs. Staff are also friendly and most competent. Rooms in the hostel vary from twin en suite, double en suite and dorms en suite. The kitchen is fully equipped with cooker, oven and microwave therefore homely and due to the fact that the building was formally a guest house has a wonderful large sitting room filled with books, games, and a television not to mention the opeh fire. Location is central which is very important if one fancies a visit to a few of the local hosteleries. Meet the locals and enjoy all of Dingle and its best hostel has to offer.
Try Dick Mac's, Foxy Johns, McCarthys and Currans for a pint with the locals. Music bars, McCarthys, The Marina Inn and late night An droichead beag (the small bridge). If you fancy a bite to eat..... Theres an Italian place serving slices of pizza just opposite the Droichead on main st, for fish and chips go to the place just a few doors up from Dick Mac's on Green St, (almost at the top of Green St) For a sit down meal try the goat street cafe, Paudies bar or Murphys on Strand st. Paudies is on Strand St too.(part of the Dingle bay hotel) and lastly if I am splashing out, The old Smokehouse. Delicuous seafood along with steaks, poultry etc..... Sit back, relax, spend a few days and enjoy!!!! read more
