It's been years since my fiancée and I went to Grantski Records. They were at the old location which were smaller inside. Thankfully we saw them next to the Mexican restaurant downtown (El paso) we dined in for lunch. The timing on that! We didn't know they moved. We went on record store day. Which is always on Black Friday. This location is much bigger and has more vinyl and products. They now have used VHS, CD's, vinyl players, and more! In the back is where they will have live bands every so often. Everything is categorized by genres which is easy to find and organized. We ended up getting RSD Ghost album, some used and new vinyl. I also made a new friend. Their pet dog Otis which he chilled with me on the couch. This is the best record store in Augusta and I highly recommend you check them out. read more

My lady and I hadn't been to Grantski since they were at their old location. This newer location is certainly an upgrade and they have even more to offer. Vinyls (of course), CD's, DVD's, video games and classic consoles, shirts, posters, and even a stage for live bands. The staff are all friendly and welcoming, especially their dog Otis, who mainly chills on the couch waiting for a leg to lay his cute little head on. The prices on everything are very reasonable too. My lady and I stopped by on Black Friday Record Store Day and scored some great vinyls. We were stoked to see Colemine Records, a Loveland, OH company, represented in the store too. Grantski Records was truly an integral part of my time spent living in Augusta, and I would recommend that anyone who loves music in the area go there immediately. The staff was absolutely amazing, and made me and my family feel welcome any and every time we visited, and they even gave me recommendations for my new record store go-to in Omaha, Nebraska, since I had told them I planned on moving. The store is roomy, open, and very comfortable. They even have the cutest dog who frequents here and is very friendly :'-) Their music selection is vast and they are often receiving new shipments of trending music, so I have found a number of favorites at this location. Grantski Records essentially built my now 150+ record collection because their new used arrivals section is THE BOMB. I found countless gems and their pricing is not only fair but sometimes shockingly low, so I was able to build an amazing collection as a young college student. Every downtown has the staples; coffee shop (or three), book store, art gallery, antique shop, and a great place to get a meal after too much time at the bar (also downtown). And of course a record store. Sure there's cassette tapes and CD's and posters and the like, but the true purpose is a place where you can always find some vinyl. The latest release or reissue and a long forgotten EP are all waiting for you within the bins. Not having a record player for a number of years, my initial trips were for CD's only. But then a player for all things allowed for vinyl records and cassettes. Now my visits are more like half day trips. I walk through the new records then search diligently through the Bargin bins (most less than $3). I have found some real treasures in there. Then I walk over to the wall and begin surveying CD's. Lastly, the cassettes. I also love that they now host local/regional bands for concerts and other events such as listening parties (one of which I recently attended). The staff here are super friendly and super knowledgeable. Also, it's the perfect spot while you're waiting on a order from Knuckle Sandwiches. Just saying. read more

YelpAugusta posted about them on New Year's Day. I thought it was a brand new shop. We had some CDs we were going to get rid of. I saw that they buy used CDs, so I took them down to Grantski's. While they looked through the discs, I went digging. I found about 8 joints. I was talking with one of the guys and they have 1000s of vinyl to unbox. And they've been in Augusta for about 4.5 years! I met my vinyl budget and peeled out. I shall return! They buy and sell cassette tapes too... maybe on another trip! They have great prices. Extremely knowledgeable owners and employees. Nice open space. Variety of genres and regular rotation of new and new-used vinyl. I've found several surprises in store and have asked for special orders of reissues not on the shelf. They also host intimate live music for all-ages in the evenings, which is a big plus for Augusta area music fans since our only music venues remaining are large theaters. read more

What a great shop this is... I can't say enough how friendly and well organized it is as well as well lit! The vinyl selection was very solid with a mix of new releases and some "better" used titles. While there I picked up a vg copy ofSticky Fingers and Led Zeppelin IV and a couple of 12" singles including a SEALED COPY OF "Let's go to Bed" by The Cure. Did I say it was still sealed?!?!?!!! Literally almost broke my mind! Also, they are an official Daptone dealer so you will always find great titles by Charles Bradley, Sharon Jones and others. I hear you'll be able to score a colored vinyl of SJ's new release which is already sold out online. Bottom line, these guys are super friendly and genuinely interested in helping you find the best in their store. I wish them nothing but the best! read more

My first visit was today. Great place, friendly staff. Nice selection. My main compliment is the condition of all the albums I purchased, 17 albums in all, absolutely clean. They have clearly been pre-cleaned. Absolutely pristine condition vinyl. I did not buy any albums from the bargain bin, so I can't speak for those. If you buy an album from Grantski Records, and it is in a plastic sleeve, it will be cleaned and play perfectly. These guys are gonna get a bunch of my money, fantastic little record shop read more

Unique little record shop. Well organized bins. It is a welcome change to be able to browse the albums. The record companies never really understood that part of the pleasure of buying an album is holding the artwork in your hand, in a large format. Luckily the book printers realized this. read more

Evan is a superior host and owner he allowed us to quietly roam his bins and once our selections were made he showed a kind genuine graciousness.
