My Mr and I were looking for vinyl shops in the area and I noticed Psychotronic on the list. Had to check it out because I also saw someone from out of town that visited (on Instagram) that recommended this place. So I was excited. We got there and the owner was super friendly and helpful. He showed us where everything was at and if we had any questions to feel free to ask. They only sell used vinyl, books and comics. We were mainly there for the vinyl. The front are the dollar bins which were categorized by Genre. And in the back the shelves were full of rare copies of vinyl. My Mr scored a sealed copy of James Brown Raw Soul at a decent price and I found some rare easy listening that I've been hunting for months. My only con that it was kind of cluttered but he had a great selection. But If you're looking for that certain rare copy, he just may have it. I would definitely give this place a try. They do buy used vinyl. Was a happy customer and will return!

Someone's excited about some vinyl crate digging!

It's been years since my fiancée and I went to Grantski Records. They were at the old location…read morewhich were smaller inside. Thankfully we saw them next to the Mexican restaurant downtown (El paso) we dined in for lunch. The timing on that! We didn't know they moved. We went on record store day. Which is always on Black Friday. This location is much bigger and has more vinyl and products. They now have used VHS, CD's, vinyl players, and more! In the back is where they will have live bands every so often. Everything is categorized by genres which is easy to find and organized. We ended up getting RSD Ghost album, some used and new vinyl. I also made a new friend. Their pet dog Otis which he chilled with me on the couch. This is the best record store in Augusta and I highly recommend you check them out.

Vinyls (of course), CD's, DVD's, video games and classic consoles, shirts, posters, and even a stage for live bands. The staff are all friendly and welcoming, especially their dog Otis, who mainly chills on the couch waiting for a leg to lay his cute little head on. The prices on everything are very reasonable too. My lady and I stopped by on Black Friday Record Store Day and scored some great vinyls. We were stoked to see Colemine Records, a Loveland, OH company, represented in the store too. This is definitely a great record store!

The Book Tavern had that wonderful afternoon hum today, the kind that tells you a bookstore isn't…read morejust surviving but actually thriving. It was busy in the best possible way: people drifting between shelves with purpose, a small line forming at the register, and an author set up at a front table signing books while chatting with readers. Moments like that feel like a quiet victory for local culture, a reminder that #LocalBooks still matter and that Augusta shows up for them. I lingered longer than I meant to because the browsing here pulls you in. The front tables were stacked with new releases and staff picks, and the red dot discount display added that little spark of treasure‑hunt energy. The range of subjects is part of what makes the place feel so alive. Politics and gender identity sit alongside fiction and romance, sci fi and fantasy, table games, cookbooks, and a genuinely thoughtful section on Augusta history. It's the kind of curation that reflects a community rather than a trend algorithm. And of course, there's the upstairs. It's one of the shop's best features. Quieter, a little more contemplative, with shelves that reward slow wandering. A busy bookstore on a weekend afternoon is a small civic joy. The Book Tavern manages to feel both rooted and evolving, a place where Augusta's literary life gathers itself and keeps going. [Review 212 of 2026 - 913 in Georgia - 25401 overall]
