Super friendly and helpful service. Great place to get new comics with a larger selection than Barnes and Noble.

No one cared that we walked in. Comic selection is small but has current issues. More of a used.book store than anything.

They have a ton of bits and accessories for board games, RPGs and card games (both new packs/boxes and used/loose cards).

The Book Tavern had that wonderful afternoon hum today, the kind that tells you a bookstore isn't…read morejust surviving but actually thriving. It was busy in the best possible way: people drifting between shelves with purpose, a small line forming at the register, and an author set up at a front table signing books while chatting with readers. Moments like that feel like a quiet victory for local culture, a reminder that #LocalBooks still matter and that Augusta shows up for them. I lingered longer than I meant to because the browsing here pulls you in. The front tables were stacked with new releases and staff picks, and the red dot discount display added that little spark of treasure‑hunt energy. The range of subjects is part of what makes the place feel so alive. Politics and gender identity sit alongside fiction and romance, sci fi and fantasy, table games, cookbooks, and a genuinely thoughtful section on Augusta history. It's the kind of curation that reflects a community rather than a trend algorithm. And of course, there's the upstairs. It's one of the shop's best features. Quieter, a little more contemplative, with shelves that reward slow wandering. A busy bookstore on a weekend afternoon is a small civic joy. The Book Tavern manages to feel both rooted and evolving, a place where Augusta's literary life gathers itself and keeps going. [Review 212 of 2026 - 913 in Georgia - 25401 overall]

On going in we found a beautiful bookstore that has a lot of Southern charm. The bookstore itself is laid out really nicely with books lined all the way too the top. There is also an upstairs section with a kids reading nook area. We didn't find the book we were looking for, but we still found a book. Checkout was fast and friendly, wish that I had pickedup a souveneir sticker on my way out - but maybe next time!

Stackers Bullion is the best bet if you want to sell any type of precious metal. I Called in to…read morewhat online is listed as "Top Dog Pawn" the storefront says "Title Pawn" as well at (3109 Washington Rd) and asked about selling my gold teeth and when I got there they told me they wouldn't take them because she didn't believe they were actual gold, despite them saying they would test and weight the gold upon arrival. Why would I try to pawn dental gold which is worthless, keep in mind the current bullion cost for 18 grams of gold at 14k is $1,380 I was willing to take $800-900 your loss honestly I will definitely be able to sell them to an actually REPUTABLE business. Poor customer service at its finest, literally asked them to test it for themselves and they refused. UPDATE the next place I went to (Stackers Bullion) gave me $920.85 I guess my jewelry wasn't fake after all. Glad though because they gave me more than these people even quoted me for before turning me around in person.

The manager of the Washington Road store insulted me when I to corrected my information they had on file. I thought she would be appreciative for speaking up. Instead she drew close to me while dressed in a reveiling mid drift outfitt. So close i had to back up. She bumped me with her hip looked up at me and said she didnt wish to do bussiness with me. I left immediatley. Totally unproffessional personnel. Zero customer service. Staff dresses as if going on a night out. Not appropriate in a place of bussiness dealing with tools, lawn equipment and firearms.

The selection of toys, comics, figurines, autographs is vast. Top Dog Comics selection beats out most comic book stores on the east coast. Vintage GIJOE, check. Newly released Transformers, check. Latest Young Avengers comic book, check. Autographed Josh Brolin (Thanos), check. Warhammer models, check. Japanese across toys, check. Vintage and current Star Wars toys, check I probably spent over an hour looking over their selection of comics, display packaging, autographs on the display case, and their large selection of toys. My inner nerdiness geeked out for the rest of the afternoon. Speaking with the staff, you get a sense of what is out on the market. I probably spent at least 15+ minutes talking to the staff on the variations of Iron Man armor toys before making a final decision on my purchase. In conclusion, this is my go-to comic book store, especially for a protective case. Highly recommend for people and families to walk around and see the vast inventory they have for sale and walk through memory lane.
