Cool start up. Lot's of potential. There isn't much to it as of 12/5/19, but I love the potential. I had food from the West African restaurant and it was pretty good. From what I gather about all of the restaurants in there, it's home style and street food. Whether you are trying something new or feeding a craving, this is a good place to do it. There is a small cell phone vendor (or something like that) in there right now. It looks like they plan to add more retail space to it as well. The selection is unique. I haven't found Nigerian, Somalian or Sudanese restaurants anywhere else in the area. The location is in what some may call "the hood" but for those that aren't intimidated by that, it's worth a visit.

Beef suqaar at the Mogadishu Somali restaurant!

I received wonderful service & purchased a beautiful sweater at The Asian Boutique. Tanzila Fashion and Beauty had amazing products for sale and will keep them in mind next time I need beauty or skincare products. Egyptian Bites was delicious. Top notch shawarma and sambosas. A little different than Bengali or Lebanese shawarma but still fresh & healthy. I will be bringing my Egyptian brother in law next time. Dessert was fou fou and plantains. I took the fou fou home to eat with honey & powdered sugar. Love it here! Free parking & the bar also looked very cute.

Horsefeathers market has been on my list to checkout for 2 years now but I hadn't been until today…read more I regret not checking this out sooner, they feature awesome vendors that I hadn't heard of until today, and many will have me coming back. Enter through the Normal St entrance. The ground floor has a restaurant, and there were two tables setup- one for Blue Table Chocolates with their amazing truffles (and yes they offer free samples!), and Green Heron Growers which has coolers of meat, some frozen soups to go, maple syrup, maple jerky, and more. There are two stairways and you can take either to get downstairs. I don't know if there's an elevator. Downstairs there's a few more vendors, but not as many as I had hoped, which is why I'm only giving them 4 stars. There was: - The Rogue Cellar (vegan international bake goods) - Dharna Kombucha - Overwinter coffee (pour over and beans) - a jewelry table - a soap table - Pastry by Camille (macaroons and donuts) Dharna kombucha was delicious and they offer samples too. I left with a bottle of the Rosemary Orange after trying it, so good! There were also samples out on the Rogue Cellar Table, and I left with a pop tart and their whiskey salted caramels- both amazing! Stopped by the Overwinter coffee table and it was neat watching them make my pour over coffee, and it tasted delicious too! Also got chocolates from Blue Table (upstairs) and shiitake-barley soup from Green Heron Growers (upstairs). Everything I got today will have me coming back for more! I highly recommend stopping by next Saturday and checking them out for yourself!

Well, I hate to admit it but apparently I was living under a rock this winter because it was just…read morethis past week (first weekend in April) that I finally ventured to this fabulous "winter" market! I honestly was not too sure what to expect but it was pretty darn cool! I have been wanting to explore this part of town a bit more and alas, I was able to do just that! Horsefeathers is a cool destination - my favorite thing at the market was Public Espresso and Coffee. I was a little foolish though and jumped the gun, buying coffee at the first place I saw coffee available: Chow Chocolat. I walked a little further and saw Public Espresso! Well, being the coffee addict I am, I thought to myself (as I often do) there is no such thing as too much coffee and got a cup of Joe at Public! I am excited to head back to the market soon to grab more Public coffee! Other features included baked goods, soup, Chinese food, apples, beer, soap, cheese, and a goat - plus more! I look forward to eating at Martin Cooks and for other vendors to come in as well. Great spot, I recommend people check it out for great local vendors!
