Simply delicious and authentic Roman style pizza. There are so many different types of pizza to choose from that it's overwhelming. There is also a crowd, so you'll need to get your order in fast. They'll cut your slice for you, so if you want to try a few small pieces of various pies it's easy to mix and match. We were in a rush and a little overwhelmed and ended up trying slices that had fresh ricotta + mozzarella, basil, tomatoes and grilled veggies like sweet peppers and eggplant. The pizza is just perfect. The crust is doughy and salted to perfection. I love how Roman style pizza basically just feels like eating pizza on focaccia. There is a generous amount of toppings. This is pretty much everything that you'd want pizza to be. I didn't try any other pizza in Rome, so I can't compare. But based off of my experience and other reviews I'd venture to guess that this is some of the best pizza you can find in the area. read more

I try to stay away from the ones near the metro stations because they've sat there for hours and I never see locals flocking to them. Enter Grano Frutta e Farina, a classic Roman pizza joint that draws a hungry local crowd. At the end of the high fashion boutiques off Via Del Corso is where you'll find this small pizza and pasta joint. Grano serves excellent desserts too, in addition to dried fruit,pasta, nuts and coffee. Weird right? Yeah. It gets weirder during lunch when everyone piles into Grano FeF for a slice or 3 of pizza. But what a delicious pizza source this place is! And what a slice!! Such memorable deliciousness. The ingredients and how they cook the pizze so expertly, is unmatched. Watching the pizzaiolo make 10-20 kinds of pizza is a sight. And he's the only one making the pizze here. One bite, you sigh and wish, "Why can't we have something awesome like this in Los Angeles?". We do actually , at Triple Beam and Pizzeria Mozza. They're Roman/Italian style and very good pizza but it's not the same as having it in Italy of course but passable. The flour, water, cheese and toppings you'll find in Rome are from local farms and from other authentic sources. It's too expensive to buy these items in the US. So if you're shopping with abandon and want a lite fast lunch, Grano is an ideal super delish place. Visits: Every other day for a week. Great little spot for a quick lunch. Our first meal in Italy- we wanted it to be good, but not take up our entire day. We found this little spot in yelp. The pizza is sold by the weight- do you kind of just tell them how much you want and they cut it up for you. We got the potato and truffle, the cheese (just cheese ), the broccoli with sausage and the ham and cheese. Much to my surprise the cheese and the ham and cheese were the best. My friend and I happened to come across this spot while walking around the streets of Rome one night and really enjoyed it. We expected pizza anywhere in Rome to be good so perhaps we were biased but with this place, we were especially impressed by the wide range of offerings. We'd already devoured our fair share of Margherita style pizzas and just wanted something different, and thats what made this place so great. While here we tried the smoked salmon, potato, mushroom, and regular cheese pizzas. By far my favorite one was smoked salmon! It tasted quite different and the sauce used had a nice hint of tanginess that was very tasty. I was quite impressed by the potato slice as well and its crispiness. Highly recommend this place for their excellent service as well. Its definitely not your traditional Italian place (if thats what you're looking) but they had nice diverse toppings and quick service so its a great spot to stop at while you're exploring the city and near the Spanish Steps. read more

Great spot for pizza in the city center. Bustling and only a few tables in this cozy pizza, bakery, cafe. A bit pricey though, as our pizza and one water cost 16 Euro. They cut off a big square of each for us to share. We opted for the pinenut with pesto and the proscuitto. They have a huge selection but we each chose one we really wanted to try. They also ask if you want it heated up, which is a must! We were able to get a table and dive in. Prior to Italy I was told that most of the pizza in Italy is square shape and totally different. The foccacia bread was so good, nice and crisped and not too carb heavy. I enjoyed the pesto one the most while he enjoyed the proscuitto one more. To me the proscuitto was thicker and tasted more like ham. I had other pizza places bookmarked but this is the closest to us when we were in the shopping area and finally hungry for some food. They also offer free wifi (with the long password) on the board behind the pizza area. I think they're main sellers are the pizzas but their sandwiches and pastries looked scrumptious as well. This is a great spot for some great pizza although a bit pricey, so watch the weight of your pizza! read more

The coziest place to get your morning fix in busy Via del Corso. Just as you turn towards the beautiful Piazza do Spagna, you find yourself in Grano Fruttabe Frania. Good coffee, super good croissants if you are an early person of course and perfect snacks during the day. The staff greet you with little quotes everyday in their journal. You can go healthy and get a very great and fresh smoothly, indulge in the Italian dolce experience or get some pizza. Stayed in a nearby airbnb for 5 days and had breakfast here a couple times. Good selection of breakfast pastries. Also stopped by for an afternoon snack and had..."pizza" or was it "foccocia w/ toppings"? not sure, but it was also quite delicious. It's pay by weight, so you basically say bigger/smaller as they hold the scissors up to the pizza. Coffee and pastries were on par with other places we went (about 5-6 euros for 2 people) pizza/focaccia was ~11 euros for what would have equated to about 4 slices of pizza in the U.S. but one of them was stacked with potatoes and prosciutto (yum) so it was probably heavy. Everyone behind the counter was really friendly with us and didn't mind us being clueless about how to order. This place was order at the counter and pay at the register before leaving (so after eating if you ate in). read more

I randomly stumbled upon their yelp page while I was in the area looking for a place for us to grab lunch and I am so glad I did. It was so delicious that we came back the following day. You tell them which kind of pizza you want to try and they will ask you how big/small of a slice you want. Then they charge you by weight. I don't know if they change their pizza, but if they have the Salmon Pizza I highly HIGHLY recommend you trying that one. It is surprisingly delicious. Best pizza in Florence. My husband, kids, and I all have different taste in pizza and all agreed that this was the best!

This little gem is in a side street and we found it just by accident while shopping. I just love their interior design and the home made cakes at the back end of the store, which not only look very nice but also taste wonderful. You can tell how big the slice should be, and prepare to share, because they are quite heavy. Heavy is a good point, because they will weigh your slice and you pay by weight, so if you are greedy, you pay for it not only on your hips ;-) It's no cheap place at all, it's for enjoying delicious food, not saving money... There's also nice pizza you can get right next to the entrance, which look good but we haven't tried so far. On the left side you can get dried fruits and nuts, all looking delicious (but we had that slice of cake, you remember...). You can eat your cake or pizza right in the store, there's a little table to stand at. Most of the people coming here seem to take their cake home. That leads me to the backdraw of this nice place: They don't serve any coffee or hot drinks, so you need to get that somewhere else (and there's some options nearby). Oh, and not to forget the biggest plus: All of the staff are very friendly and helpful, even when we got in there while they prepared to close, everyone was smiling and wishing us a nice evening. This quaint shop is fairly small. In the front is where the pizza (sold by weight and not slices) are deliciously displayed. Everything is fresh and is made with whatever is in season. In the back of the narrow shop is quite a display of desserts. There are only a few small tables (2 seaters) inside with high stools to eat on (so not good for groups to eat there). Limited English. BF was the one who found out about this place and tried to sample as many different pizzas that he could. We tried salmon, pesto & pine nut, mushroom & black truffle, and prociutto & mozzarella. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! It is located just south of the Spanish Steps tucked in between some touristy restaurants. They have a good selection of pizza, calzone, sandwich and pastry. The staff is extremely friendly and speak English well. They offer vegan and vegetarian options and also sell drinks. There are maybe 5 or so tables to sit at but it is a very nice place to order by the slice and take to the Spanish steps to enjoy public music and lively crowds. It is authentic Italian thick/square cut pizza and is not pricey at all.
