More deliciousness and biscuits with gravy

Whoweeee! We were passing by the area looking for a nice local place to stop for breakfast. What a surprise! This was easily THE best place we stopped for breakfast after being on the road for two weeks! The pancake was light and fluffy and bursting with flavor- not flat like many others. And the egg/potato thing I got was the BEST! Only problem was that we didnt have an cooler to put our leftovers in! They couldve given us another entire meal! They take their portion sized very seriously here! And the wait staff was exceptional! So glad we found Granny D's!

A nice mom & pop breakfast/brunch restaurant located right on 306 in Canyon Lake. Great service from our waitress. The food came out on time fairly quick. Everything was good however the banana nut waffle really didn't have a banana taste to it. The patty melt was delicious. My husband had the pancake and it tasted plain to me. But it was huge and hot coming out. The veggie omelette, home fries, & hash browns were good.

This diner is Very old school and is inside a manufactured building and has a Divey vibe. It took over 30 minutes to get our food and my eggs were cold. The potatoes we asked for were home fries and they gave us hash browns instead. When I asked the server about it she said oh yeah we ran out I forgot to tell you. ??? The proper thing would have been to tell us cause I would have chosen fries instead. My son and hubby enjoyed their meals however. My meal was ok.. nothing to brag about. But if you want breakfast all day in this area, then this is your spot.

Big dam breakfast. All plates are full.

PORTIONS! TX sized home style cooking. The 18" pancakes are 2 inches thick. You'll take a picture. I got biscuits and sausage gravy and added 2 extra patties. Applause! There was enough thick gravy to cover all of it. Thumbs up on hash browns and raspberry jam. The 20 minute wait was worth it. Food arrived on time even for a large group of 10. Our waitress was great. We tipped well. Exiting, A guy said he was picking up catfish to go. He orders often and recommends. I saw assorted cakes and pies in to go frig behind the register and "I Love Pancakes" shirts for sale. The clerk said the joint was 15 years old. Nuh-uh. The 70s style wood paneling and rusty dented retro tins that you can't find any more beg to differ. Same for the light bulb sign on the road that only have 2 blinking bulbs. LIKE. I'll be sure to come again next time I'm in town. Thank ya Granny. I felt at home.

The scenic road near this place was my main attraction there. The food was good, what you would expect at this type of old school dinner. The pancakes were huge and very photogenic with that being said I expected them to be raw in the middle and I was right... but not disappointed I understand how hard they must be to fully cook without burning when they are that huge. Parking was a small nightmare and severs looked like they were stressed. Ours forgot drink refills and drink order at the table next to us. But overall will come back, one thing though, make sure to keep an eye on what they're charging you. We definitely got over charged by a drink or something. $49 for two breakfast, one coffee, and a pancake.

On today's adventure I felt like a good breakfast so I decided on Granny D's. This establishment is in the Canyon Lake area. As you walk in, you notice that there is plenty of seating and are greeted by the hostess and taken to your seat. Depending on the time you go you might wait a while but fortunately I was seated promptly even though it was fairly packed. The server was extremely helpful and polite and took our order quickly. You have a large selection of food options, so depending what you like you'll most likely find here. Now the most important thing the food, the food was extremely delicious. I ordered the Country Scramble it's an egg, cheese and bacon creation and it was amazing. The plate comes with a pancake that was absolutely delicious but it is kinda hard to finish it because it's a good size pancake. This place gives off a good family atmosphere. Overall this is a great option for breakfast and lunch.

Freaking eggcellent! My god, the pancakes! Get there for late breakfast or late lunch because this place fills up quick.

Excellent. Very laid back and charming. The service was excellent. The food was plentiful. My son in law got the pancake and it was "big as your face!" Big. The Patriot French toast was delicious. They do not skimp on the fruit topping. One of my granddaughters is super picky and she ate everything we put on her plate. Was very pleased with the visit we had today. Things to be aware of... the wait could be long as they get busy. The food seems to made from scratch so that takes a bit as well.

The service was great. Our server was manning several tables and followed through with any requests. Our food was hot and arrived quickly. Did you see the size of this pancake?! It is the size of the plate, fork for reference. It had good flavor, not too mushy. They did run out of home fries but the hash browns were very good and well-seasoned. My eggs were cooked to order, which is always great. We really enjoyed our experience here. We definitely recommend.

We are so excited we got to experience Granny D's while in Canyon Lake. The pancakes were so fluffy and delicious! The kids plate sizes were beyond reasonable and we're happy that the kids weren't hungry immediately after. Toast was a thick Texas sized slice. I wasn't the biggest fan of the veggie scramble I got, considering for the same price I could've gotten some other options that came with more food, but it was what I asked for and needed, the portion just wasn't as large. Service was decent, slightly slowed. Assuming because food made fresh. But the wait was fine with the constant diner chatter and people interacting with their families and minimal devices. Our server was straight to business, pleasant, with minimal small talk and served well. All in all, great breakfast spot and worth it! There was a line by the time we left, so be prepared to wait just in case.

Started eating on the fluffy pancake, made two meals out of it you'll never leave hungry

Wonderful service fast. Friendly staff Great portions I got a fluffy pancake that was as big as a hubcap could feed a family of five Scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, and wonderful hashbrowns

Came in for brunch on our last day in Canyon Lake. The food is good and the portions are very gracious. I like that their Sandwiches are packed with meat!!! I had the Reuben Sandwich and hubby had the Club. I recommend the onion rings. They are a good thickness (not too thinly sliced) and the coating has flavor! I was greedy and could not decide if I wanted breakfast or lunch so I also ordered the Cinnamon Toast French Toast too. I barely could take a few bites because the sandwich was so filling. The French toast was good and had a sweet glaze, so I did not need syrup. I took the rest home for breakfast the next day.

I checked the Google reviews to make sure that they have options for me before I arrived which they said that they did. Located off of a busy highway/street with plenty of parking on a white gravel path, I found Scoops and Roots. I wasn't immediately greeted upon entering which I thought was a red flag, but I continued to walk inside as I was craving vanilla ice cream. I searched the options high and low looking for anything that was marked, "dairy-free" or "vegan", everything sounded absolutely delicious with the unique flavors that they had to offer, however, I was deeply disappointed when I didn't find anything that caught my eye. I asked and the chick behind the counter suggested a chocolate ice cream that was the only vegan option outside of the non-creamed items. I was double disappointed because chocolate is my least favorite flavor. I wasn't expecting this restaurant to be all vegan, but at least some cream options. I ordered the chocolate. It was okay at best. I sat towards the back of the restaurant near the plants. There was a guy who kept walking around the vicinity that I was sitting which made me feel as if I was being studied. He spoke very loudly towards another person. I think he introduced himself as the owner. The plants were beautiful to look at, however, I thought that the pricing was outrageously expensive. I am a gardener and a former houseplant parent (before it was popular) and thought that the pricing of the plants was unreasonable. The owner sparked up a conversation with me and was telling me about how to care for plants. I had told him that I know how to care for plants to keep them alive as I used to work at a garden nursery and previously owned that said plant when I was in college. He continued to tell me about plant care. Even the gardening supplies were pretty pricey. It was a chill vibe, but I won't be back considering they don't have more dairy-free flavors outside of chocolate ice cream.
