I was house sitting and unaware of the fragile nature of Quartz. I put a large pot on the Quartz counter to water a plant and when I lifted the plant pot to move....scratches!! I called Granite Doctor because they have great reviews and was specific to what I needed to repair. First I called, response was quick, I spoke directly to a representative and explained everything, only surface scratches, no indentions on a surface area of less than 12' around. The Representation was responsive, professional and asked me to send photos and she would provide a quote. I texted the picture's from different angles along with the approximate measurements immediately and waited for the promised quote via email. I did tell the Customer Service representative that the project is time sensitive but also a small, minor project. I had to text once and call hours later to get the quote because it didn't come through within the time promised. After the call, I received one quote with the spec's I sent and within an hour, I received another text saying the first quote of $257 was misquoted and it would be $987 with no other explanation of the discrepancy in pricing. I have not had a repair like this but with consultation with some of my builder friends, a small area needing buffed should not be over a thousand. This business has great reviews and based on that appear to do excellent, professional work but my experience getting a quote(delayed) receiving a quote (misquoted) then quoted again almost three times the cost with no explanation, turned me off. If Granite Doctors were not interested in the small, project they should have told me this initially, instead of procrastinating the quote and pricing the project beyond reasonable. Again, I cannot speak to quality of work. But I do think a first impression with a quick, honest quote is as important based on his , I would seek other opinions and Granite Doctors is not a company I would consider for a small or Red large project. read more

Had a great experience with Granite Doctor. We had an old cooktop that needed to be replaced in one of our rental properties. When the appliance company came to install the new unit, it wouldn't fit in the opening because the granite had originally been cut uneven. This didn't pose a problem for the old cooktop but did for the new unit which had a slightly larger profile. Now our routine appliance swap out had turned into an emergency since our tenant could no longer cook. After reading some reviews and sending a few online messages, in swoops Granite Doctor. They trimmed off a small piece of granite from the opening and then the new cooktop slid right into position! Unfortunately, our experience with Granite Doctor to have them fix a chip in our quartz counter top was not ideal. The initial email contact and scheduling went smooth, and the technicians arrived on time. We had discussed earlier that while we the owners wouldn't be home; our nanny would let them in the house. When we returned, we found the result in the picture; which looks like a grease spot. We had the chip that broke off, and while we knew we would still likely see a 'line,' we were surprised to see how much of the filler resin was visible. In addition, the repair is not smooth and anyone who visits identifies the chip repair easily. While the results were not the most impressive, what was the most frustrating part about our experience was the poor customer service thereafter. We emailed them to try and see if there was a better solution that we could work out on this. Instead of trying to fix the issue, their response was: "this was one of the best jobs we have done, and the results in our opinion are WOW." They went further down the negative path by talking about the chip repair as being similar to their mother's wrinkles, and that only she can see them?? It was a very strange response. They also repeatedly brought up they don't use 'photoshop' even though we never suggested it; which makes me wonder if they actually do! I called granite doctors and I got a call Back within 30 mins. I told them my under mount kitchen sink had fallen in and wanted to see if it was possible they can fix it. Sasha came out and looked it and took some measurements and checked a few things. He told me he had a great fix for my fallen sink. My sink was glued to the granite by the previous home owners. Sasha told me he would cut into the granite and add brackets and a wooden support in the middle. The price for this repair was very fair...I paid $265 and it took Sasha a little over an hour to complete this fix. The whole time he kept me informed what he was doing and cleaned up as he went. After agreeing with GD the day before to have them come over to fix my sink between 3pm-5pm the following day, I received a text 25 minutes before this window of time saying that they would not be able to come until 5pm. I responded and communicated that I needed to reschedule due to the late notice since my kids would be home and we would be in the kitchen having dinner. I asked to reschedule to the following day. GD immediately cancelled the job with a very curt text message. I followed up with a phone call and two texts to try and reschedule. I was told that they did not have any availability in the future. I was bummed when I found a giant chip in my quartz countertop and had no idea how to go about repairing it. While the internet suggested gluing the piece back in, I was hoping to find a solution that would look better than that and save me the cost of replacing the entire slab.
