The carpet is a commodity but John gave very honest pricing. What really matters are the installers. If you carefully review the other stores you see their contracted installers are who disappoint. Not at Lone Star. John's installers have been with him for 15 years so they are really good. The installers are who really matter on your finished product. I also needed float and his crew was great. They got the entire upstairs done in a day. They move all your furniture and move it back at no extra cost. Which is really great!

I have a lot of antiques (with original mirrors) and they handled everything carefully. No nicks or scratches in anything. The workers showed up on time every day (originally 4-day job), they were courteous, helpful and friendly. Very hard workers in 90 degree temperatures; they finished the job 1-day early. Excellent! The second job was carpet in about a 500 sq. ft. area. The fellows showed up as scheduled. They were pleasant, clean, careful with my antiques. They completed the job in 3.5 hours, and the carpet looks fabulous. On both jobs the crews moved all the large pieces of furniture for us w/o one complaint. We now need carpet in another area of the house and we definitely have plans to call them...in fact, they've clued us in on a manufacturer's sale in the fall so we can take full advantage of a great discount. Lakeside's prices are quite reasonable. We got other bids on the laminate and Lakeside was $1K lower than the others. They made it right though and redid the portions that needed adjusted and reinstalled. As far as the master bathroom granite, they suggested I use a remnant to save money. I got a deal I am happy with. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because I had to make myself available to be home more than necessary. They have done a good job and I will continue to use them if I decide to put granite in other bathrooms.

When you don't see them and ask why he'll tell you that he could only use them in a few places but he used them where he could. When you call him out on that lie after finding zero steel shims he says he doesn't like to use them. What kind of excuse is that? He will also tell you he's coming back in a few weeks to finish what needs to be done but never shows up. Sure, he'll text you and say he's sorry he didn't make it out as promised but he's definitely coming next week. Good luck getting him to honor any warranty he gives you. I don't recommend giving him your business.

Jesse showed up one day, dug 16 holes and pour concrete and returned 2 days later once concrete was set and leveled the house and back filled then cleaned up. 2 day job and reasonably priced. Jesse also put me in contact with a structural engineer to complete a report required by financial institution. I will definitely use him for my other 2 houses.
