When removing the old flooring they needed to scrape up stapled OSB and glued down carpet pad. But they failed to proactively resecure the floor, even after I requested proactively screwing down the subfloor as part of original estimate conversations. After several calls I was originally assured they were glong to make this right and do what I paid for but alas the tech only spot lifted and spot screwed. Some areas are okay and some are worse than before. I called about lifting the floor again to do it right and was told "that ship has sailed". Dont trust them to keep their word. I wish I had hired someone else.

Yes, there were cabinet production delays. These were completely beyond the control of this business. Was it irritating? Absolutely. Is there any such thing as a construction job without a hitch? No, there really isn't.... Mr. Lewis installed the cabinets himself. He knows his stuff. My countertops are amazing, and the fabrication and installation was absolutely seamless.

I told Mr Lewis to install after New Year's Day 2023. They starting installing cabinets then I find out my cabinet over the Refrigerator was not ordered. I asked Mr Lewis did you not check my cabinets to make sure they were all there before notifying me? I hope it doesn't take 4 months for that 1 cabinet to come in. I also discovered the cabinets are no better quality than a lot other cabinets sold in big box stores and not worth the money he charges for the brand he sells Koch Seneca is the Cabinet Manufacturer. Shop around people don't fall for his price gouging he is over priced for what you get. I bought cabinets from Hobo's when they were open. The cabinets were better quality. I paid under $3000.00 for 17 cabinets. I drove from Texas to buy my cabinets from Hobo's. Koch Seneca cabinets are cheap press wood not ply wood. The drawers are even cheap. These cabinets were regular stock sizes not special order sizes. Mr Lewis uses this company so that he can over charge people because he orders them. You can order cabinets from Menards, Home Depot and Lowes. Mr Lewis showed up today 2/06/23 with the cabinet over the refrigerator it was smaller than the 36x24x14 I paid for he thought he could pull a fast one over on me. I took one look at it and realised it was a 36x24x12. His excuse was that since I was buying another refrigerator anyway I should just except. It was from a different manufacturer I noticed the difference right away. Do not do business with this man he is a con artist.

When we were looking to get the floors done we received a few quotes for the work. Blake came out to give us an estimate and was very thorough. He noticed a few items we would need to repair/address that the other companies did not look for. Strait Edge's pricing is the perfect balance between quality and value. We had some repairs which required that were move intensive than we originally anticipated. Blake and his team took care of us and you cannot tell the repair was needed. Despite the repairs being more involved than originally anticipated the work was still completed on time. With the additional repairs the pricing needed to be adjusted to account for the extra work. He was upfront about the additional costs, they were very fair, and ended up being lower than I had anticipated. I will absolutely be reaching out to Blake and his team when we need additional flooring work done.

If you are looking for a company to install new flooring or trim in your house, do not use this…read moreone, save your sanity and look elsewhere. Over six months of extreme anxiety and stress dealing with this business. A job we were told would take one week has taken over 22 weeks to complete. My husband and I bought our first house and spent months demoing and renovating it. We hired Straight Edge Flooring to instal new floors and moulding throughout the entire house since we had a short timeline to move in and wanted the job to be completed quickly. I wish we never chose this company, worst mistake of my life. This company is a complete mess, have terrible communication, don't know how to order the correct amount of materials, and make up excuses for everything. Blake straight up lied to our face during the house walkthroughs when discussing the project and expectations of the quality of work. This company lacks accountability for their mistakes and will blame them on you, even when sending photo evidence of defects. It has been a nightmare to get the company owner Blake to do a walkthrough at the house after installation, and straight up refused to meet us in June because he was mad I put a 1-star review up due to their delayed project and lack of communication. Blake then threatened to not complete the rest of the flooring installation until the review was taken down. Throughout this project, Blake also threatened to take legal action through his lawyers and through putting a lien on our house. If you want a company to be extremely rude to you, then you found the right place. Below are direct quotes from Blake in response to my husband and I asking questions about the installation quality and voicing our concerns about various defects. "you are horrific!!!" "PATHETIC Instead of being and reacting so emotionally maybe you should read what I say" "I'm not getting into any other conversations with you, you can discuss with my legal team" "Now please stop texting me. My legal team is dealing with your non sense" "I know everything I'm just done entertaining conversations with you" "Go harass someone else" "My legal team would laugh at you and probably swallow you whole" "You are a piece of work" "Kiss my ***" "Slime balls get no where" "Now your just being a plain old slime Ball" "your still trying to slime your way out of paying your bill? Does your wife not make enough money gaming on her computer for you to pay it? Or are you just typical stallis trash trying to avoid paying a bill?" "so clearly you are just a pathetic slime ball" "fu****in email it" Straight Edge flooring also prematurely issued an invoice and told us the project was completed, even though it was not due to damaged floor boards and missing moulding. Blake also told us we would be paying a late fee of $50 per day if the invoice is not paid??? Nowhere in the estimate/contract included late fees. Regardless, the job was not completed! The final invoice also included a 7.9% sales tax for the entire project cost. As outlined in the Wisconsin tax code (Pub207), we do not pay taxes for their labor or the material included in their provided service. We argued with them for months about how they cannot charge separate tax items at the end of the project. I even called the Wisconsin Department of Revenue, which confirmed that although they are a retailer, they cannot charge sales tax when purchasing floors and then installing them as a part of real property improvements. Even at the end of the project, a damaged corner was missed, we sent Blake photos immediately and he had the audacity to accuse us of damaging the floors. The installers came back to look at the damaged corner and then admitted they missed it. Glad to know that photo evidence and telling you something was missed doesn't matter to you Blake, can't even pretend to care about doing good work. If anyone is being a slime ball Blake, it is you. Do better.
