very very highly don't recommend ; i bought the 2019 jeep cherokee for 13k , kept having issues, about a week later, i took it back, with my baby.. explained to the service people what the problem was, they took it in & gave me a loaner, took 2 days to get back, picked it up, returned the loaner and had to walk all the way across the lot with my daughter, her car seat & our belongings, chris refused to bring the jeep up to the garage doors. 3 days later, the same issue occurs again, but this time the engine light is blinking, the car is shaking and not pushing over 50mph, i call and we play the game of taking it back again for the 2nd time; the manager this time talks to me brandon, tells me to give them more time this time, okay cool, i never rushed in the first place, a week went by no call, text, email nothing, i have my mom call out there & inquire about the vehicle and supposedly it was done 2 days prior , and the papers of my vehicle were just "lost" on someone's desk.. luckily i returned my vehicle of not even having it a month, and got my full refund; they now have that same exact car with the same mileage i left it at, priced for 15k now, as if something was changed or fixed, expect seeing your sales person often read more

I've taken some time to calm down and process my experience before writing this review. This isn't a post filled with anger or hate -- just a sincere word of caution and a "buyer beware." My advice to anyone considering buying a used vehicle from Granger is simple: don't. And if you do, I strongly recommend purchasing whatever warranty they offer. I bought a used 2018 Ford F-150 from Granger on 02/26/2025 for $33,188, along with a third-party warranty. Out the door, I financed around $40,000. Unfortunately, this truck has been nothing but a money pit and a headache for the past eight months. Within the first week of ownership, a front wheel bearing and CV axle failed -- and it only went downhill from there. Soon after, the truck developed a driveline vibration, which led to a full transmission replacement and another CV axle replacement due to a torn boot. After getting the truck back from my local Ford dealer following the transmission replacement, a new issue appeared: it began trying to engage four-wheel drive while driving down the road. The truck went back in again, and both front IWE actuators were replaced. It's currently back at the dealership -- for the fourth or fifth time (I've honestly lost count) -- with what appears to be the same issue: attempting to engage 4WD at interstate speeds. To date, this truck has racked up roughly $12,000 in repairs and spent nearly three months in the shop. Those numbers continue to climb as it's still at the dealership while I write this review. When the first problem appeared (the wheel bearing and CV axle failure), I called Granger to express my concern about how their service department could have missed it during their "used vehicle inspection." The manager's response? "Sometimes things get missed." That felt like a real slap in the face. Once again, my warning to anyone thinking about buying a used vehicle from Granger is this: don't. Bought my new car here and the car is great, but they were trying to sell me everything in the book after I continued to decline to get more money out of me. They then added a warranty on my car after I declined adding $3500 to my total price of the vehicle without my permission! Thankfully my bank caught this asap for me. DONT GO THRU THEM WHATSOEVER don't sign anything with them take all paperwork to your bank and sign with them. My van had a check engine light on. I took it in and was told it would be $150 just for them to check the codes. Got my quote back for repairs for new spark plugs and a coil, transmission oil cooler line, and an engine coolant thermostat. They quoted me $1,695 for the fix. This seemed high so I called for a quote somewhere else. I was given a quote of $150 for the exact same repairs... Took it to that place and was told there was nothing wrong with my vehicle. Spark plugs were in pristine condition. Nothing was leaking. Nothing was wrong. They looked at the code history and saw that the codes Granger Motors had cleared were two misfires in the last 100 starts-- likely from the cold weather. No codes for spark plugs, thermostat, oil cooler line, etc., This is DIRTY. They will not be getting another penny from me or anyone else I know if I can help it. read more

The truck we picked had just hit the lot, so had not been through the shop or detailer. No problem to us, we can wait to make sure things are done correctly! The sales team, great! Beau was our salesman, the best soul I've met, and he could get a blind man to drive and somehow it would all be okay. A few days later we go get the truck as we are told it is ready, it is not. They put the wrong truck through the shop so they essentially wash it, spray some cleaner on the windows, don't wipe it off, don't clean the interior at all. Once again being positive as that's who we are, it's fine, we can detail it ourselves. Less than 24 hours later the transmission blows. We just think okay, our luck. They send a tow truck after we told them no, we cannot drive it out to Granger after they asked us to. Not safe with a 2 year old in the back. You can basically jump forward from 5/12/22 to today, 10/18/22. This is how long we waited for a fix. They ordered a new transmission which was on back order, which my husband and I both work in an industry where things take time to show up. But it is my job as a manager, to let residents know what the status is on their appliance, garage door, etc. This is the exact opposite of what Granger Motors did. We would call, nobody answers. So we would leave messages. We would ask to speak to the parts department or a a manger in hopes to get an update. NOT ONCE did we ever receive a phone call until we reported them to the BBB. Which we are not the type to do so, but after calling and them hanging up once we said who we were and why we were calling, and then getting hung up on? Not okay at all. So we needed someone else who could help. All we wanted was an ETA... Zach and Aaron are hard people to reach. They don't answer the phones and if you leave a message, they do not call back. Great ownership and management. The silly part is, instead of calling we resorted to driving out to see if the truck was in the shop ever, and seeing them just having a good time in the sales area or just sitting on golf carts outside. The best is we could talk to anyone there to get us an ETA but not a sole answers. It got to the point that it seemed like they had our numbers memorized but if a family member called, the call was picked up on the second ring. Now, they did try to get us into a new truck which was nice, but they only had downgraded models of what we purchased and nothing of equal value. After sending one last email to Zach and Aaron, my husband got a call saying what do you want? What can we do more than we already have? So, the solution was to get a used transmission and a 3,000 mile warranty or 3 months. So we agreed, since we really wanted our truck that we have been paying $700 a month for and insurance of $300, that we were not allowed to cancel because they then refused to touch the truck without it. We got the call today saying it was ready, it wasn't washed after sitting outside for 5 months, interior wasn't cleaned, the suspicious dried milk shake looking globs are still there. Yet the rentals we had were spotless. You'd think the least they could do after not having any respect for calm customers, is wash and detail? I just figured that was a common courtesy. I know it is at Hyundai and Karl Chevrolet, not Granger. They're here to make a buck and send you on the way with cleared codes just waiting for you to break down and make another buck off you. Congrats on losing two customers. We truly hope others are not treated as we were, and we hope this is a learning experience for you all. Calling people back is so so SO important. They feel like nothing, neglected when you leave them hanging. But they can't give up, they just spent $45,000. Again, your slogan states that you value customers as family, family doesn't treat family like dirt and just forget about them. They don't hand you your newly bought tools back bent up and broke, they treat your stuff with respect. That is what we have lost, we lost respect with management at Granger Motors. read more

I have been a loyal customer for years with Granger but I don't know if I will return or not after my recent oil change. If I do return, it certainly won't be for an oil change. The simple oil change took an hour and a half, and the total was $150. For a 2012 Equinox. After I got home I called for quotes from several businesses nearby and the average was right around $90-$100. Save your time, money, and energy and go elsewhere for this service. read more

I drove 5hrs to get there and it was not a disappoint! They had the truck I was looking for and I called prior and asked for bottom line no BS price and they held to their word! My local dealers in WI could not match so we made the drive. They had the best pricing I could find in the Midwest for the particular truck I was looking at. No extra fees, no hidden cost, No BS prices, just bottom line dollar how it should be!! This all comes from just walking out of a "big city" Chicago dealership that was a complete joke the day prior!! Never again... Bought our vehicle in 2014 and was sold on the lifetime power train warranty. Caveat is oil changes must be done at Granger so they see your car at least a couple times per year (per their website). So every.single.one of our oil changes were performed at Granger Motors. Between 2014 and 2019 our car had been in there 3x a year for oil changes, except in 2017 when our car was in there 2x that year. Now that our transmission is out on our vehicle they will not honor the warranty bc the warranty company said we went over the recommended mileage for oil changes.... Apparently the recommended mileage was every 6000 miles. We typically got it in there between 5000-6500 miles.. there was one time where the miles between oil changes was 7300. The other thing is that my husband ALWAYS asked, is there anything he needs to do to maintain the warranty when he was in there for oil changes and he was always told nope, we are good. If we had known they wouldn't honor the warranty, first we wouldn't of purchased here but secondly we wouldn't have been wasting our time and money driving all the way out to Granger to get our oil changed. Needless to say I am very disappointed and will no longer do business with them, nor will I refer them any business (as we had done in the past). read more

Before my oil change was completed, the shop manage came to me and advised he heard of my concern and we reviewed the issue and they agreed they would take care of the damaged tire under the warranty. Over-Promised, Under-delivered. This place is a disaster of ineptitude! If there was a way to give negative stars, they definitely earned it. Don't walk, RUN AWAY as fast as you can. Looked for a used truck and found one I liked. Promised they would get me a chance to look at it but each time something came up until they finally said they sent off to detail so it was fresh looking for me to see and drive. They got it back and called me in for a test drive, but when I showed up they informed me that another sales person heard I was coming and convinced their client to put a deposit on it, site unseen, so I lost out on it. They promised to make it right so another truck came in and I jumped on it because despite their issues, they still have good pricing. Took it for a test drive and the sales guy spent half the time on the phone trying to close a deal for some personal car wash venture they were trying to setup for some passive income. Really? Again, looked past it and worked out everything, and agreed to purchase on the condition that they take care of the paint issues (to which they agreed). Signed off on everything and closed the deal. Agreed to take delivery after service items and paint work addressed (door dings, rock chips, and some key scratches from an angry ex-girlfriend, apparently). Get a call a few days later that service was done, but couldn't get to body work for a month, so I decided to take it and return it when the body work could be scheduled. They ran it through detailing and got it to me. The most half-assed detail job I've ever seen. Once I had it properly cleaned, went over it to determine all the body work needing done (because they only ever showed it to me dirty). Listed everything out for when the body work was scheduled and provided them all the damaged areas. Get a call later that day saying they will take care of all of it except the "hail damage on the roof" because it wasn't noticed before purchasing. They claimed to not know about it. I don't believe for a minute since they offered a warranty with the truck that they didn't do a full inspection, and claim to not know about it. That's a pretty shady stance to take. A week goes by with them having the truck and I get no updates, no ETA, nothing. I called the dealership over the course of 2 hours, during business hours, over 9 times. Nobody answered at all. I ended up driving in there and confronting them in person and all I got were excuses that "that shouldn't happen" or "we might be having phone issues, we're sorry." My sales guy not texting me back or people not listening to voicemails is "phone issues," now? Nice! Mind you, my truck was sitting right outside the building the whole time and they had already got it back from the body shop. Went out and did a walk around and half the stuff they were supposed to fix was not done. Argued with them that it wasn't done until they agreed to fix what they promised originally. Also had some more service items needing addressed. By the way, I got the truck back finally from the body shop and they still didn't fix all the body items they promised to address (dent and scratches in the hood and a large rock chip down to the metal on the passenger windshield support), but they had my truck for two weeks and the whole process start to finish has been going on 2 months, now. I'm so tired of dealing with them. Instead of handling some minor PDR on a roof and a couple hood scratches and chips, they chose to fight with me, then completely ignore me when I wanted some communication and make excuses for their failures and broken promises. Get everything in writing if you risk doing business with this place. Brad in service is great. Sales and Managers are terrible for their unprofessionalism, excuses, ineptitude, lack of communication, and back stepping on what they promised to deliver. if I could give this zero stars I would. I left work at noon today to drive to Des Moines to see my dad in the hospital. I was about 20 miles away and my car started making a weird noise. I pulled over thinking maybe it was a flat tire but everything looked great so I pulled back out on the road got up to about 40mph and it start making the noise again so I pulled over at a gas station that did not have a service station. Put the car in park revved up the engine didn't make the sound, none of the lights were on the dash, temperature was normal, nothing indicating what could be going on. I was about 16 miles from the Lexus dealer and wanted to try to get there to have them check it out. By the time I got to Granger I had stopped two more times to look at tires and see if I could figure out what was making this thunk thunk thunk thunk thunk noise. It was so loud I decided to just pull into Granger motors and see if someone would listen to it and tell me if they thought it was safe to keep driving to the Lexus dealer, I didn't want to make something worse. I walked into the service center and the woman standing at the desk asked if she could help me. I told her my car was making a horrible noise, that it sounded like something was about ready to fall out from under the hood. Asked if someone could drive it through the parking lot and see if they thought it was OK to continue driving to the Lexus dealer. She asked if I had an appointment and I said no, I was driving from storm Lake to Des Moines when it started making the noise. She said they didn't have any appointments and she'd have to go check "with the guys." She went and asked the mechanics, three or four of them sitting/standing in an office, not working on cars. She came back and said I'm sorry but we don't have time to look at it today, you can leave it and we'll probably be able to get to it in about a week. A week! I told her I was driving from Storm Lake to Des Moines to see my dad who was in the hospital and I couldn't just leave my car there for a week. She said well as long as your check engine light isn't on it is safe to drive. So I putted my way to Willis Lexus, driving 20 to 30 miles an hour with my hazard lights on. I had called them before I left Granger motors and asked if someone would be able to look at it, she said she wasn't sure if they could look at it right away, but they would get me a loaner car to drive if it was gonna be a few days. I got there and talked to the service manager. I told him what kind of noise the car was making, that everything looked good, no lights had came on, temperature was normal, it was driving straight down the road, I could take my hands off the steering wheel and it would still continue straight down the road, not pulling, shaking, or anything. He had me pull my car right in the shop and had the mechanic take it for a drive. Probably wasn't gone more than two minutes and came back and pointed at my driver side wheel and said look at this and he flipped one of the lug nuts and it was almost falling off. He said the wheel was loose and that I was lucky it hadn't fallen off. I was so shook up I was about in tears. He said they would take it inside and fix the wheel. The mechanic took off in it and after a while the service manager came over and talked to me, said they had done whatever it was they had done, cleaned up some corrosion, tightened the lug nuts, said something about torque. Said he had them run it through the car wash. I asked him where I needed to go to pay and he said he wasn't charging me anything. So not only did they not put me off for a week like your service department was going to do, they fixed it right away, vacuumed the floors, wiped down the dash, cleaned the inside of the windshield, ran it through the car wash, and didn't charge me anything for it. Not a penny. The whole thing took about 20 minutes. Turns out it absolutely was NOT safe to drive at all and by not taking five minutes out of your mechanics visiting in the office to listen to my car, you put my life at risk. Absolutely horrible customer service. The worst I've ever experienced. read more

I ordered a Bronco Sport with Granger Motors back in October 2020, and I arrived at their office in February 2021 to pick it up. Prior to my arrival, I asked the salesperson what rate I could expect to pay on the financing and was assured that Granger shops around for the best possible rate for me so I wouldn't need to worry. When I arrived at Granger, Eric, their finance professional, sat down with me and proceeded to tell me he got me a great rate and that all of the paperwork was ready, I just needed to sign. I asked him for the rate, as this information was not shared with me prior to my arrival, and he told me it was 2.8% for 48 months. I told Eric that was significantly higher than what I expected and asked him how he arrived at it. He said they shopped around for it, assured me it was the best rate, and then asked me what I was expecting. I told him that I was expecting 0% financing as had been advertised on Ford.com for some time. From the very beginning of my conversation with Eric, I felt like I was getting taken advantage of and the experience only worsened from there. Eric proceeded to tell me that even if that was true, he would need to go back and redo all of the paperwork which would be a lot of work. He also told me that I was going to lose my rebate from Ford if he did this (which turned out to be incorrect). Eric proceeded to update the paperwork to 0% financing w/ a rebate after I confirmed that I wasn't willing to sign with 2.8% financing. My personal belief is that Granger Motors presenting me with a rate significantly worse than the manufacturer's was done intentionally, but, if unintentional, the negligence demonstrated by not offering the manufacturer's rate forces me to question whether the customer's best interest is truly important here. Unfortunately, the challenges didn't end there. When completing the paperwork, Eric walked me through a limited warranty coverage I could buy that provided protection beyond the factory warranty and we added it to the financing. After leaving the office, I reviewed the coverage more closely and decided that it wasn't for me; I called Eric the next day to have it removed from the financing. He reminded me that while I was in the office he said removing it from the monthly payments would be very difficult to do. I asked him if he could try as it would reduce my monthly payments by ~$80 which was meaningful to me. He doubled down and told me that it was impossible to do and he couldn't remove it. I found this hard to believe and asked him again if he could try; Eric suggested I talk with his manager. I chatted with his manager, Arin, who was transparent with me that it could be done (the opposite of what Eric had told me), warned me that it could take some time, and ultimately completed the process with little hassle. For someone that had never purchased a car before, I was expecting my first car purchasing experience to be an exciting one. Instead, I left the Granger office, in my brand new car, feeling taken advantage of and upset by the entire process. I'm sharing this story, because I know not everyone will do their own due diligence on financing rates or be willing to speak up to tell a financing professional that they're wrong when they assure you they're giving you the best rate. I'm hopeful that reading this story will save some people money and headache when buying their next car and that they can leave the office of whatever dealership they choose without the regret that I felt after purchasing from Granger Motors. read more

NOT TO BE TRUSTED! Granger contacted me about my truck, which I have listed for sale online, and asked me to meet with one of their salesmen so they could look at it. I met with John, and even took my truck to the dealership. They made an offer that I was not initially comfortable with and when we were not able to make a deal, they told me that if I changed my mind over the next couple of days, the offer would be waiting for me. I called back less than 2 HOURS later and they said they were no longer interested. Horrible way to do business! Do not take them at their word. Now they're responding to my reviews saying they "reduced" their offer. This is NOT the case. They took the offer off the table completely. read more

I would give this place no stars if I could. Women beware these guys are snakes. I bought a 2016 jeep Wrangler from them hoping I was finally buying my dream car. Will that dream is a nightmare!!! This car has clearly been in a horrible accident and that wasn't disclosed to me. The hood doesn't latch correctly, the drivers seat isn't even on the track correctly, the passenger door doesn't shut properly and the front fender had a dent and scratch. So I was essentially sold a very unsafe car. Even though I called and asked to return the car within 3 days of the purchase they refuse to give me my car back. Now I'm stuck with a $34k car that's unsafe and I hate. No other solutions have been given to me and I have to wait for them to fix my car which I will not be trusting them to do. My daughter was wanting to make her first "adult" purchase of a newer car and since my husband and I had always had good service (as well as other family members) we decided to look at Granger Motors. She found a car she really liked, took it home, all was good...........for about 2 weeks. The vehicle wasn't running well and her service engine light was now on. We checked the oil and there wasn't any!! I immediately became mama bear and contacted Granger - they looked at the car and decided to have it serviced every 500 miles (a few times) to check the oil and see what the issue was. After a few times and the oil burning more than they would like it was decided they would replace the engine at no cost to my daughter and everything has been A-OK ever since. I never felt like they were out to get anyone, my daughter maybe just chose a lemon of a car and lesson learned for her. Went to look at a used car they had on the lot. The place it self looked pretty grimy. Car looked great in the pics but on arrival I realized they should of sent this thing to an auction it was beat to hell. All the seats needed reupholstered, whole interior looked like it had been ravaged by a family of wolves but they pretended like it was priced fair in "good" condition. I silently disagreed but let them look at my vehicle for trade in value to have them tell me a laundry list of problems that actually made me call a dealership when I left to have them look at my vehicle to see what needed fixed. Obviously they were just low balling me and the dealership that looked my car over offered me 4000 more than granger offered. I personally wouldn't go back to granger and in my opinion there's a lot better options to buy cars. read more

Veterans RUN AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP. 1 year 2 weeks after purchasing a ford for 4 grand more then what they advertised the car online. I went 8 months of listening to my windows whistles as the incompetent mechanics couldn't fix it let alone recommend rotating my tires. They now want me to fix my vehicle. One year 2 weeks old. I stopped by Granger Motors on July 14th. We're looking to buy a new vehicle. We have purchased 2 Chrysler vans cash here previously. I walked in & there were 3 salesmen talking at the entrance. One of them in a navy blue shirt asked what I was looking for. I told him. He did not seem interested in what I was saying. I am a woman of East Indian descent so he probably thought " she cant afford to buy a new car" His attitude completely turned me off. I just left. I went to DM & stooped at Hummel's Nissan. I was treated with respect & dignity & I purchased. New Nissan Altima our first Nissan.Granger lost a sale because of attitude. Tell your sales people "Do not judge a book by its cover" you might be surprised. read more

We have been looking for a good used car. I filled out an internet query and sent it in, received a response the next morning. I explained we were looking for a unicorn - a newer model, under 100k, with some feathers - it didn't have to have all the bells and whistles, but it would be nice to have some. Andrew worked with me for a few weeks until we came up with the car we drove home today. It was a very easy, pleasant car buying experience. Our salesman and the sales manager both assured us that we would be notified about the status of a vehicle, and apparently it was sold out from underneath us, despite us calling multiple times and asking to please notify us when the vehicle was available. Now, we get that it happens, and you get beat to the punch sometimes. The thing that was infuriating is that we waited three days for a phone call, trying to have faith in their word. Instead, I call to find out the vehicle was sold and we wasted three days that could have been utilized finding a vehicle elsewhere. That is where we will find a vehicle from now on.
