BUYER BEWARE Dealership did not sign sale contract. After *30 days* of having the car in our possession, they informed us the financing had not gone through. Of course they could now offer a significantly higher rate and down payment and would not honor the original contract. They also did not pay off our trade in (again, after over a month), tried to offer $4k for it, then had it up for sale on their website for over $9k. This dealership is dishonest and they try to run scams. The car they took back also needed new batteries and new tires, over $2500 worth of expense. They upsell everything possible at signing (to the tune of around $4k). And that contract, again, only YOU sign, so they get to do whatever they want after the fact since the contract isn't valid until they sign it, then try to scam you at a much higher rate. I've never dealt with such people in my life and I've filed complaints against this dealership. read more

I was in the area and my truck was in need of an oil change, so I thought I would take a chance and see how busy they were. I talked to Kenny in service and he was pretty booked up, but a 9am appointment had not showed up yet so he was able to squeeze me in for service. This is the second time I've showed up while I'm the area that he has managed to get not only mine this time, but my wife's vehicle awhile back!! They stay very busy and normally I make appointments way ahead of time. Every once in awhile when I'm in the area, I check the status on the vehicles to see if they are close on needing service. Most of the time they are good to go, but twice I've looked and they were close enough that I've taken a chance to pull in to the service department and just check to see if they could get to them. Twice now they have been able to accommodate me! It just shows it didn't hurt to ask what their backlog status is on service. The was my message to the owner. I was able to meet with him but was unable to purchase a vehicle there because they wouldn't make things right. Of course they offered vehicles out of my price range but nothing equivalent to the vehicle I had made the deal on. Dear Mr. Granger, I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to share my recent experience with your dealership in Orange, as it has left me deeply disappointed and frustrated. I found a truck I was interested in purchasing and worked with Thanh Vo to negotiate an agreement. Thanh sent me the buyer's order, which I promptly forwarded to my bank. I informed him I was selling my current truck and obtaining a $10,000 money order for the down payment. Around this time, I also provided the requested information to Tony in finance. Everything appeared to be in order, and I confirmed I would arrive at the dealership by 2 p.m. to finalize the deal. However, at 1:23 p.m., I received a text from Thanh advising me not to sell my truck. I immediately called him, only to learn that the truck I was purchasing had been sold to someone else. By this point, I had already sold my truck and was on my way to the dealership, leaving me without a vehicle. When I arrived at the dealership, I requested to speak with the general manager and was directed to Stuart. While Stuart apologized and stated he would "make it right," the proposed solution was a 2023 Denali with 70,000 miles--quite different from the 2021 High Country with 28,000 miles that I had initially agreed to purchase. Despite my concerns about the mileage, I agreed to work with Stuart on a deal, and he assured me the truck was discounted as a gesture of goodwill. However, when I checked the dealership's website, I discovered the vehicle was listed at the same price as the "discounted" deal I was offered. This left me feeling even more upset and as though no genuine effort had been made to rectify the situation. When I tried to negotiate further, Stuart abruptly ended the conversation, stating, "We are done." Mr. Granger, I've purchased a new vehicle every two years since I was 21 and have never been treated this way at any dealership. I am still without a vehicle and deeply regret my experience with your team. Recently tried to purchase a Chevrolet equinox from Granger Chevrolet. I live four hours away, so I negotiated over the Internet. Stuart Saragoza their sales manager sent me a buyers order for the negotiated price and I accepted it. They pulled the vehicle out of inventory according to my sales person and actually sent me pictures of it. The next step was to receive the wiring instructions to pay for the vehicle. I never received the wiring instructions and they told me they had made a mistake on the buyers order of $200 and wanted me to accept and another buyers order pay more for the vehicle. worst business transaction in my life. I'm not sure how they are still in biz. ripping off orange for years. first I trade my truck into them. great conditio. new tires and perfect mechanical and cosmetic condition. low ball me. what ever all good. do a deal buy a truck from them. drove truck for a day. check engine light then transmission starts to lock up. I bring it back in that day. so I've had it for less then 24 hrs. I tell them I want to cancel the deal and I want my truck back. told me they couldn't do that. that they could work the same deal on a different truck. so we did that against my wishes but at this point I don't have a choice as they won't give me my truck back. the same deal ends up being another 400 dollars a month. lied to my face. didn't find out till I was signing the paper work. they asked me to write different dates on documents to protect them. once again they had me in a corner. then the new truck you guessed it also needs a transmission. so they take the truck and two weeks later I get a call from a random shop saying they had a fire and my truck got burned up. granger was extremely rude. GM named Stuart put his hands on me and cussed me out. on video. at this point I was told granger had no liability and that I needed to put it on my insuranc. long story short. 3 months later I have my truck back. worth 20k less then what I paid as it had massive fire damage. Granger's insurance refuses to contact me. the whole situation is by far the most scum bag thinng I have ever dealt with as a consumer. do yourself a HUGE favor and do not even consider these people as a viable option for automotive related anything. buying or service etc. absolutely crooks and extremely disrespectful. have cost me tens of thousands with no effort to make anything right. Chauncey is a crook. the only person CJ the salesman who has no power in the situation was upfront and kept it respectful and honest the entire time. If I could leave zero stars I would. We bought a used truck there last year, since purchasing it's been in their service department longer than we've actually drove the truck. After months of back and forth, empty promises and rude staff, we finally received our truck back today. It is fixed, however there are paint chips all across the hood of the truck and down the door. We have all inspected this truck multiple times in pick up and drop off to service department as part of protocol, never have these chips been here but suddenly they don't know and we must've done it. We asked them to review pictures and they say they can't tell because there is a glare (lie) pictures are clear, then went on to say our sales guy said he remembers all the paint chips all over it. Granger Chevrolet Service Dept. is a joke. I brought my truck in because of a roaring noise. I had the bearings, rotors, and brakes replaced within 500 miles of bringing the truck in (on both sides). I specifically told the service advisor (Stacy) this twice. She apparently ignored me and didn't write this on the ticket. I told her that those parts were changed and the noise was still there. Well, over a week later, she called and left a voicemail and was told it was ready to pick up. So I called back and asked what they found wrong with it, and she said the bearings were bad. I said "I told you twice that the bearings were changed less than 500 miles ago". I asked her, "Where are the bearings that you all took off?" She said they threw them away (I did get one of them back). I was told they were expensive (not OEM bearings), and they literally didn't have 500 miles on them. So my dad went to pick up my truck because it was "ready" and the noise was still there. They never drove the truck; they just threw parts at it. So they took it back in and eventually found the problem (it wasn't the bearings). In the end I should've listend to my coworkers and friends about bringing it to Granger. read more

I'll try to keep it short. If you are looking for a dealership that does not respect your time, is dishonest and not upfront, then this is the dealership for you. Communication with the finance department was horrible, was told to expect an email shortly and I had to follow up to get one the next day. Apart from that, they will try to give you the least financial details about your deal so they can to screw you over. MAKE SURE TO REVIEW what you're paying for, they like to sneak in service contracts and gap insurance without your consent. Long story short, they used shitty sales tactics to try and pressure a sale and when I was ready to buy and already on my way, THEY TELL ME THE CAR WAS NOT AVAILABLE. Where to begin with my frustrations with this company?!?! On 4/29 we contacted this dealership about a truck. Our interactions with Josh, the sales representative were straight forward, uncomplicated and pleasant. On 4/30 we decided to buy the truck and Josh transferred us to Dwayne in finance. He asked us how we would be making our down payment. I told him I wasn't paying anything until I saw a bill of sale, with the tax, the sales price, and break down of interest and monthly payments. His response to me, "You don't know how much you're buying the truck for? Didn't the sales rep tell you the price?" To which I replied, "I need something in writing. This is how we do business, with written contracts. You send me a bill of sale and then we can talk about the down payment." After seeing the bill of sale, I said, "Okay, now we can put a deposit on the truck and pay the rest after the truck is delivered." (As we are in Louisiana, not TX) To which he wanted to tell me I had to pay the full downpayment before the truck could be delivered. Eventually, after I insisted, it was arranged for us to put a downpayment on the truck and then a balance paid at time of delivery. I forget the exact date, but about a week later, I received a phone call from Dwayne saying that the bank may not fund our loan. I panicked a bit and sent over the paperwork needed to hopefully get the loan approved. Dwayne said he would keep me updated. That day went by and I didn't hear anything. The next day went by and I still hadn't heard anything, I called in the afternoon and left a message for Dwayne telling him I wanted him email me my vehicle documents as we had still not received copies of our signed paperwork . The next day, I still hadn't heard from Dwayne, but I received an email about "Why I should shop at Granger Chevrolet" and I emailed back my complaint. The following morning I received a prompt phone call from Dwayne. He told me he had emailed me the documents and that he called several times to get in touch with me to tell me the loan went through, however, I had no emails in my inbox or spam box and no missed calls over the last 4 days from their number nor any voice mails left on my phone. Simultaneously, while I am dealing with this issue, I am dealing with a second issue. When the car was delivered we were given 1 key and 1 key fob. We asked the guys who delivered it and they said, only 1 key. I texted josh and said, "only 1 key?" By the time he texted back they guys were gone, but he said there should be 2, and he would ask the guys about it in the morning. I won't go into too much detail here. Let's just suffice it to say it is May 26th and I have called at least 1x a week since we bought the truck on 4/30 about the key, and I have been juggled around, told I would be called back; I have left messages, and not been called back. There has been no initiation on the part of this dealership to get this problem fixed, and when I call, I get the same message, "let me try to get this figured out and I will call you back" It's been a week since I last called, and there has been no call back. We are 4 days away from a month since we purchased the truck with still only 1 key and 1 key fob. Customer service and Communication from this company is HORRIBLE. It is not straight forward. Car sales are already stressful, and when you have a budget you need to stay on and voice it, some salesmen don't care. They want that big sale. I went for specific car and was pushed and pushed into a brand new car, which I knew I couldn't afford. We tried to see what the payments would be in our range but they were far off. I understand as a car salesman you make commission mostly but when someone comes in and tells you their budget and you ignore it for the bigger sale for yourself, sometimes your screwing yourself out of a deal. If I was writing a review with the sale department- definitely an awesome sales team that goes over and beyond to help you pick the best vehicle for you. This is not a review over the service dept though, this is a review over the SERVICE dept. When my vehicle was purchased it was had way less than 10k miles on it and in November it already needed new tires, 17k miles later. I understand that this would be an issue through the tire and car manufacturer- which I would think that the service rep would be the one to help you get all this together. NOT. I did all the leg work to get this resolved. Now today, we are still waiting to get my new tires put on my vehicle when we dropped it off at 8 am and it was just getting on the rack according to the service rep at 1:30 pm. When I scheduled this appointment I told the rep that the vehicle needed to try and be completed by 2pm due to having to pick up children and getting them to after school activities. When my husband called about this, he stated that the alignment might not be done by 6 pm this evening. 12 hours later and it's just a tire mount and balance and alignment. Never again will I use granger for a oil change or tire rotation. I do not recommend their service dept WHAT SO EVER. read more

Brought my 2015 Tahoe Z71 in for basic service. Debbie the service advisor took excellent care from start to finish. From scheduling my phone appointment, to greeting me with a smile upon my arrival. After arriving Debbie informed me that my vehicle needed a recall performed regarding my 4 wheel drive system. She educated me as to what my Tahoe needed. Bought a 2006 ford f250 6.0 turbo diesel with 113 from these guys, before I even bought the truck, the guy tried to pull it up and ran it out of fuel. Least of my worries because I bought the truck for 15 out the door and within less than 10k miles I have spent over 20k in repairs including a new engine and brand new transmission. Not to mention the multiple other times I had to take it to the repair shop. I notified Granger via email informing them of my mishaps. No I was not asking for reimbursement or compensation as I did buy the vehicle as is. But I didnt even receive an apology or some kind of sympathy. Poor customer service. I decided to purchase a used high mileage truck after the one I originally came to see that was advertised had just been sold, so they say. The truck I was shown looked in very good condition and they showed me a Carfax with a clean bill of health and was a one owner. I decide to go ahead with the purchase, didn't haggle with price but did request one concession and that was to replace the headliner that was sagging in several spots. It was agreed they would REPLACE the headliner I did the paperwork and drove the 2 hours back home. They called me 2 days later to tell me the headliner was replaced and the truck was ready. Drove 2 hours back the next day to pick up the truck endorsed the check to pay and drove off. Five miles down the road the headliner starts falling down and I had to keep pushing it back up and felt glue. They didn't replace the headliner as promised which I was pretty certain of when I got in the truck and thought I noticed the liner was not a new one. This pissed me off because they just flat out lied. Then the engine sputters like it might stall the engine light comes on and the oil pressure gauge pegged to the right. I immediately return to the dealership and explain all of the above to the salesperson who of course has to get the manager. Manager gets in the truck and says he is going to take it back to the service department to have it checked. Comes back says the check engine light was some minor issues and he would fix the headliner. Since I heard the headliner promise before and found them to be liars I asked if he would consider helping out with the check engine light problems. Realizing I purchased this vehicle AS-IS I still thought it was worth a shot to ask for some assistance since but the manager flat refused stating you bought as is and drove it off the lot. However he didn't think of anything about inconveniencing me having drive 2 hours back home and wait until the initial issue was fixed. Even though I purchased this vehicle as is and experiencing the liars that they are you would think a little bit of customer service by repairing the check engine light or at least negotiating some type of settlement would have been the appropriate thing to do and could have turned a bad situation around. This does not seem to be the way this dealership does business. I will not be lied to, asked that they just undo the deal since it had only been approximately 30 minutes but this was not to be. I gave back the key, left and put stop payment on the check. I spent 11 years in hotel management and another 11 after in my own business and dealt with several issues of service and would almost always able to come to a middle ground and turn a bad situation into good. I purchased a used car from Granger. After the first hard rain, the car leaked, soaking the carpet. Rain was somehow getting into the car. I took the car back to Granger, and after several visits they identified the issue and fixed it for free. They did the right thing, standing by their used car inspection program. After about 4 visits, at no cost to me, they identified where the car was leaking and fixed it. They definitely have high standards, and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another used car from them in the future. I have NEVER been so embarrassed in my life!!! My family was very interested in a used vehicle the week before Xmas. We were negotiating the final price when the GM stood up from his chair and declared in a loud voice for all to hear "We wont pay your taxes for you. Come back to see me when you want to pay your taxes!" I understand the game of negotiation but humiliating a potential customer in front of his family and other customers is not the way to get a sale. I feel bad for the salesman because he almost had a nice sale but his GM ruined it for him. Definitely would Not recommend these guys they are extremely shady! Keep in mind, I'm grading on a curve based on the assumption that all used car salesmen are at least a little shady. I bought a car from them and before I did I was in contact with the salesman for about a week discussing the price of the car. We finally settled on a price and he had me sign a document the spelled out the price of the car plus any applicable fees, i.e. taxes, document fee, etc. Then I was sent in to talk to the finance director. Immediately he had me sign an electronic pad which applied my signature to various documents. I was a bit concerned about doing this but he assured me that my signature was going on documents that I had previously agreed to with the salesman. He said this would speed up the process. I finished the rest of the paperwork and left with the car. A couple of weeks later, I received the documents from the US Bank, whom I financed the car through. To my surprise, the amount financed was $3,000 dollars higher than what I had agreed to and signed for. Come to find out that my digital signature was applied to five different warranties totaling $3,000. Now, I will say after trying for months to get in touch with anyone that could help and turning them in to the Texas DMV I was able to recoup $2,301. However, the remaining warranties totaling $699 could not be cancelled. So, in a nut shell, Granger Chevrolet basically robbed me of $699! Thus, this brings me back to my original assessment... extremely shady! Don't believe me, that's okay. Go buy a car from them... you'll see! read more

Salesman tried to lie and mislead us just to hurry with a sale, he also brought other customers into his office while he was still working with us, so we left the first time. When we come back later he lies about the tax title and license claiming the price he gives us is the 'drive out' price today with tax, title, and license included. We get back to the finance department and its a big mishap and ordeal where they try to make us pay a thousand more. Very poor sales team. Don't pay attention when he shows you all his awards on the wall. Even if the salesperson claims its the drive our price with taxes and title included ask to speak with a member of the finance team before you make a decision. And ask for a more senior member of sales to help you. read more

The most manipulative corrupt dealership I've ever in all my life done business with. I bought a new Silverado on December 2nd 2015. I was talked into buying the extended warranty, life insurance, and a road side assistance as it was said to make my note only increase 50 dollars. My fault for not reading every word before signing but the extras amounted to almost 6 grand. No problem right? Drove 3.5 hours back the very next day to cancel the policy. Signed all the cancellation forms that the finance guy by the name of Frankie gave me to fill out. Asked for a copy and said it would be mailed within a few days, weeks go by I got nothing. Proceeded to call back every day for weeks and the front desk says every time "they are all assisting customers I'll have them return your call". Guess what? no one ever did. Finally I was done being polite and demanded to speak to the person in charge. They had no records of forms being filled out and was told don't worry you'll get a letter confirming it was cancelled. Months go by still nothing. I finally contacted the Zurich warranty company and life insurance company direct. Had to jump through hoops to cancel it all and 6 months later here I am. I lost 20 percent of my credit as its prorated. If they would have taken care of this matter the next day I drove back to sign the forms I would not be writing this review. My advice to everyone is to NEVER ever go here for a vehicle. They are very deceiving and can't wait to stick it to you. As for Franky, I know you have to remember speaking to me and me driving 3.5 hours the next day to fill out these forms. No one else knows as you threw the forms away I'm sure. Karma makes its way to everyone. Your supervisors and owner will be hearing from me shortly and maybe my attorney for your wrongful business practices. SERVICE DEPT: I had a 10:00 am appt on Dec 3rd for an oil change. We actually arrived at 9:45 and at 11:35 I asked one of the Service Writers how much longer it would be. I was told that they have it on the rack now. When we checked out at 11:45 I was told that the truck in front of us took longer than scheduled so it made yours late. I asked what is the purpose of making an appointment and was told 'sometimes this happens'. If the oil changes were not covered by the Certified Vehicle agreement that came with the car, I would not be back. read more

I bought a used low mile truck from Granger. Great deal, great service, . . . at first. I called about some warranty work, no response, No help. So before the warranty expired, I drove 300 miles from home to Granger Chevrolet for the warranty work, I had to take the truck to an independent repair shop in Bridge City, TX for the repairs. Parts were ordered, delayed, rental cars, motels, . . . In the end, one week of wasted time, $1000. 00 + in parts not covered, motel bills, rental car costs, all out of my pocket and a total of over 1200 miles traveled.
