I had a great experience working with my realtor and found a house I'm really happy with.

I cannot suggest strongly enough to stay away from Shodeen. So far their customer service is like pulling teeth. If you don't get every little thing on a "punch-list" immediately you are likely going to have to argue with them to get it fixed. Even after we have put things on their precious punch list, we kept having to ask over and over for things to get fixed. The price of the house was attractive, but I think we could have done better for only a little bit more. This is a home in Reston Ponds in Sycamore, IL

This is along with the manager there who only cares about money and nothing else. The rest of the staff is nice, thankfully. If you have a dog, they require you to take samples of the dogs stool (no lie) and send it in for testing so they can fine someone if they don't clean up after your dog--what kind of place does this? additionally, they keep building here , but don't expand amenities so it'll most likely be a crowded pool and gym. Go elsewhere.

We are happy to write this unsolicited, positive recommendation of Ginny Sylvester - she's earned…read moreit! It's the very least we can do, after all she has done for our family. After 3 unsuccessful Realtor relationships, where way more was promised than ever delivered, we finally aligned ourselves with a true partner - a doer; a researcher; a marketer; a stager; a responder; an explainer; a negotiator; a CLOSER! This is Ginny! She grew up in Geneva & knows the Fox Valley & surrounding area like that back of her hand. In our case, after our Geneva home was on & off the market for 1.5 years, Ginny sold our home in record time, for more than our asking price. In fact, we received 3 offers on the first day of our listing. She found us our new Geneva house, too. Selling real estate in today's market is complex. There are many steps. Marketing is a must. Staging is an absolute, & this service is included in her fee, which differentiates her approach. Connections are key, such as an Attorney, Mortgage Broker, Title Company, Handyman, etc. Not to mention the process is emotional at times, whereby she responds with patience, honesty & her long-running industry expertise. It is a business partnership, yet Ginny genuinely demonstrated she cared about our family, as we had some special circumstances. She focused on the outcomes we wanted, not the other way around. From the 1st meeting, where she professionally shared her systemic process, from start to finish, she followed through. Everything she said she would do, she did. Everything she explained would happen, happened. Everything she promised, was delivered - & more! You might think all Realtors are good to their word & good at what they do, however, that is not always the case. When Realtors were referred to us who did not work out, we chose to make our next Agent selection "based on the numbers!" Number of homes sold, year-over-year. Now we know firsthand how those impressive numbers were achieved: through Ginny's hard work, her SEO/SEM & internet marketing, her e-mails at 1AM, and her experienced, talented team - most especially her stager! As you are doing your homework for your next Real Estate Broker, we encourage you to read all of Ginny's testimonials. Over & over, you will find that the feedback will be consistent and it will be positive. She will exceeded your expectations, just as she exceeded ours! Thank you so much, Ginny! Until the next time we give you a call, continued success to you! You deserve it! - Katherine M.

We relocated from L.A. to Geneva and Beth came highly recommended from a family friend. We were impressed with her from the start. We bought our 5th home in Geneva with her and sold it with her (we relocated again to Oak Park)! Beth is from Geneva and knows the area and schools. She understands and has patience with the haphazard and challenging process of buying and selling. When we sold, she brought in her amazing stager who helped us make our home look like a show home! We sold within 3 months for the price we had hoped for! Beth also is a terrific cheerleader, which is something I needed during the stressful time of waiting for the house to sell. She listens and encourages, but never does she try to force you into any decision. Beth is exemplary in her professionalism and that is only enhanced by her compassion and love for helping people find the home of their dreams. Beth Spindle is the best of the best!

I had an issue with a leaking limestone wall that Kristen Johnson immediately repaired for me so that my artwork would not sustain any damage. She was quick and attentive and worked so diligently to make sure it was fixed properly and completely. I so much appreciated that! When looking for a studio closer to my home, I worked with BEI again to obtain a space in the Cedar Avenue Business Center in St. Charles. Austin Dempsey, Scott Prudden and Kristen Johnson were so helpful and understanding of the needs of creatives! Our building has been growing with artists and it has made the location perfect. I appreciate BEI being easy to reach, approachable, willing to help in all ways possible, and appreciative of their tenants - often treating us like family. You don't find that in many places. To show how supportive they are of the artists in the building, they even allowed us to temporarily use some large office space in our building to curate and create an art gallery that we could open to the public. They are awesome! If you need a space, whether it be small or large, BEI is great to work with!

Winter clothes, well mine at least, were stored in suitcases, dishes stayed in the dishwasher, and friends crammed onto the teeny tiny balcony. We coundn't take it much longer. Calls were made and fears were confirmed. The market is saturated, town homes aren't moving, you can't compete with foreclosures. And then our Real Estate Hero appeared. My husband made the call and Kathy Brothers was there. She sat down with us and gave it to us straight. Our price had to be competitive, and we had to be patient, but it would sell, she was confident and we liked that. 1 open house, and several showings later we had an offer and were under contract within 2 months. Elation turns to panic as we realize we have 1 month to get out and we haven't looked at a single home. Have no fear, Kathy Brothers is here. Kathy made us a top priority and began showing us homes right away. She patiently went house to house (ones that I picked out online) knowing we wouldn't like them. Then she showed us 'the one'. She knew what we wanted before we did! 15 more homes, just in case, and we decided to make an offer. A bidding war, a stressful loan officer, and a few moving day glitches, and we are settling into our dream home. I'm writing this review on my out of control back patio as we speak, well, as you read. For such a big investment, such an important milestone, I could not have asked for a better guide through the crazy roller coaster that is real estate than Kathy Brothers. She was knowledgeable, honest, aggressive, and a true pleasure to work with.

For starters, it is one thing to decide not to return phone calls in a timely manner (I'm talking almost 24 hours here) and another thing to expect a return call within a few hours time frame when you call another realtor at 6am. I understand people have lives outside of work, I just don't appreciate double standards. But, that was the least of our problems dealing with Donna. She continued to entertain offers days after ours was accepted (fine if you want back up offers) by the seller. She then proceeded to call and ask us to match the highest offer, as they wanted to give us first rights and to be "fair." We reluctantly and begrudgingly came up to the new price - obviously upset with the situation. However, when our realtor called to inform her we accepted the higher asking price, she informed us that the sellers had accepted another offer...last night?!? Why even bother calling to ask us to come up in price? We had the contract reviewed by multiple attorneys and it appears this was legal...although HIGHLY unethical. We also asked for our attorney fees to be covered since the sellers accepted our offer and we began the attorney review process, only to be told three days later that they were backing out of the deal. They declined to cover the fee, as they did not believe they were the reason we incurred the cost? Really?!? All I can say is thank goodness we didn't have the inspection done yet... To say the least our experience was absolutely horrendous! Please beware if you are working with this office as a listing agent! I would hate for anyone to have to experience the roller coaster we have gone through these past few days.
