Located inside Phyllis Rawlinson Park is not as interesting as the Tower Hill Off Leash Dog Area landscape wise. There is not hill but just a flat area open air. The park itself does get really muddy since it is not as well drained. There is a small dog area for dogs that are 12 lb or under. it is smallish and with any timber bark coverage which my dog prefer. The park is a little far away from the parking lot but it is a nice walk through broad walk and gravel covered path to get there. I would probably going to visit Tower Hill location a lot more often especially after a few rainy day as you might ended up going home with a really muddy dog!

Close to natural and close to home. 2 fenced area: one for the big dogs and other for dogs that are under 20 lb or senior dogs, both covered by wood chips so no one feet/paws would have got muddy. Rocky wants to meet some girl dogs but sadly we came on a really quiet afternoon and only another male dog dropped by. Here all the dogs are well behaved and it is great opportunity for owners to socialize their dogs and get to know other dog owners in the area. A Doggie Meetup? Rocky now really want to go back when there is going to be some action!

It is contained by a 1.5 m tall chain link fence with a separate small dog area and a double-gated entry and exit area. I really appreciate the stated rules of using the park: all male dogs have to be neutered, no female dogs in heat and no children under 12 years old! The small dog area is for dogs that are under 12 lbs and it is well maintained. My dog had so much fun exploring the area which are lined with wood pieces and played with dogs that are friendly like he is!! The other area where the bigger dogs roamed is huge.... hilly and they can all run wild and explore!! I wish there are more off leash dog park like this, where dogs can enjoy the open area and socialize with others just like children!

LOL - I can't believe I've never written a review for this park that is literally in my backyard!…read more I've been going to Sunnybrook since I was a kid - my dad used to play cricket here with his work friends on the weekdays and I would have to come along and just chill in the park. The main entrance (for cars) is Leslie St (Leslie and Eglinton) and there are many parking lots as you drive though and many off side parking on the "street". This park goes on forever, so just keep driving through until you find a spot that you want to stop at. Some areas are smaller than others, but as you continue to move further into the park, you'll come across wide open fields where they play all the sports (cricket, soccer, baseball, etc) There are SOME grills here (although not sure if they were removed due to COVID), so definitely bring your own. You'll find plenty of open and/or shaded areas to enjoy a picnic or a snooze :) You can also bike in here and take a stroll among the many trails. Also, the Toronto Botanical Gardens and Edwards Gardens have a trail that lead right into Sunnybrook - sometimes it's nice to park a the Gardens, and walk into the park for lovely views. There used to be a horse barn/stables/horse riding in the middle of the park, but unfortunately a few years ago it burned down to to some people having a fireworks party (or prank - not sure which ) close to the stables. Very sad. There are washrooms located here (the main one being around parking lots 6-8) and it is clean (as far as park bathrooms go) I come here fairly often in the summer to have a quiet picnic and just relax. Truly one of the great things to do on a day off.

Yelp's map is a little off; it's on the northwest corner of Miller and Rodick, situated on Miller. We thought it was on Rodick so we missed it completely! Not sure what we were expecting, immediately we were greeted with huskies, poodles, retrievers, canines big and small. We were so excited and Bree (our dog) seemed that way as well. There's a double gate, one to enter and unleash your dog, the second to the really big area. There was a lot of room, and lots of benches for yourself to watch your child socialize with others. They even have an agility course area if you wanted to try to train your dog or just to get away from the others. They also had two water stations. It was also like a petting zoo where you could pet other friendly and cute dogs! The only reason we left was because this one dog annoyed ours and became aggressive, but other owners were very friendly and cautious about their puppers. It was a fairly positive experience and would definitely come back again. The only reason it's not a 5 is because the infrastructure such as the little shielded area and the agility course was not in the best condition. Other than that, it was great! 4.5/5

Honestly, I had no idea this place existed until a lady at a scrapbooking crop told me about it. I had to check it out since I pass by so often ! During the day, it seems to be less busy as I was told by a dog walker who was there with 7 or so beautiful dogs. It seems, the place is busier in the evening & weekends (naturally). Apparently the rougher dogs come in the evening. So those w/ smaller breeds (& small children) should probably have a watchful eye. There are at least two gates when you enter. Make sure you close it in case a little furry friend runs out. The area is quite large. It's not covered w/ grass but with wood chips, which is understandable to help with maintenance costs. There was a section for agility, large spacious area for running around. Even a shaded area w/ picnic tables for us dog owners. I saw a mailbox w/ membership information but when I opened the mailbox, it was only full of empty envelopes. It's maintained well & has lots of water for your furry friends & even poop bags in case you forgot yours. Can't wait to bring my dog here again! Hailey says 5 stars! Visiting a cemetery is not something I do for fun pre-COVID, but I'm glad I went there for a walk for once. Many tombstones from ages ago are wearing away, and I'm wondering whether their descendants still visit them. You can walk along a path with flat-to-the-ground headstones flanking either side into an area shaded by trees. I also saw Jack Layton's monument, with a headstone sculpture of his face. I see people have left some flowers recently. Super cool as I did not know his gravesite is there! Riverdale Farm was closed when I was there, but I could still peek at the farm animals outside the gate. I was there just after they announced on the news that someone stole Juniper, the baby goat! I believe I saw mama and the siblings there? The gates are not high... so I can see how a rascal can jump the fence and take a goat. Like who does that?! Cemetery and a park walk are not the first things that come to mind, but it reminds me that when I open my mind to unique experiences, I'm most of the time pleasantly rewarded.

Many folks and families were enjoying the day, and respected the social distancing bylaws. Its important to have days where you can disconnect. Sitting on a giant fallen tree while looking over a gentle stream was really a highlight of the weekend, and something I would recommend if you have an hour or two. -Zuk
