I have taken my dog here several times he enjoys it a lot. There are lots of small dogs that come…read morehere which is great (I usually go friday evenings). If it rains or snows, i don't recommend it unless you are prepared to have a muddy pup! Everyone is very friendly (and usually)look after their dog. If you are a first timer bring some poop bags and water, if not im sure the other pet owners have some to spare. :) Also if you are coming north from the 410 prepare to make a U-turn since there is an island separating the roads.

The park has no real flat spots other than the segreated small dog area to the left of the main entrance. Most of the park has a mixture of grass, rocks and mud..dirt and mud (on rainy days). Not my favorite park in the area, as there are a number of dog owners who frequent the park who have dogs that are overly excitable or aggressive. Keep your eyes on your pet as these owners do not watch theirs. The park has running water and a dedicated trash area. I find that if you go up the hill and sit near the 4 stones up top, its easier to watch your pets and less of the irresponsible dog owners hang out up there. If you looking for a quick place to take the puppy..this is fine..but if your looking for a nicer place..try White Spruce Park. Remember be responsible dog owner! keep an eye on your children pick up after your dog, enjoy the park!

I think my dog will definitely give Richmond Hill Off Leash Dog Area a 5+ stars!…read more Richmond Hill off Leash Dog Area, a fenced 3/4 hectare site, is located in Ward 4 on Town-owned open space lands south of Tower Hill Road and just west of Yonge Street. It is contained by a 1.5 m tall chain link fence with a separate small dog area and a double-gated entry and exit area. I really appreciate the stated rules of using the park: all male dogs have to be neutered, no female dogs in heat and no children under 12 years old! The small dog area is for dogs that are under 12 lbs and it is well maintained. My dog had so much fun exploring the area which are lined with wood pieces and played with dogs that are friendly like he is!! The other area where the bigger dogs roamed is huge.... hilly and they can all run wild and explore!! I wish there are more off leash dog park like this, where dogs can enjoy the open area and socialize with others just like children!

Not only is the general fenced off area nice and spacious, but there are lots of hills for the dogs to run around through and picnic tables for the humans to sit at. There is another gated area for smaller dogs as well. I visited on a Sunday afternoon and there was a fair amount of people with their furry friends (maybe around ~10 dogs). Everyone was super friendly! This is definitely a great park for you and your dog if you live close to the Richmond Hill area. You will certainly find me and my little boston terrier back here soon! :)

It was so relaxing walking by the water and through the forest. The weather was perfect, not too hot and not too cold - just right! We walked by many families fishing at the river and also noticed the tree top trekking/zip line above. We want to return to try this next time! There were families having BBQ's at picnic sites which were reserved (guessing you can book them online/through the park ahead of time). They also had a splash pad and pool - wish we brought our bathing suits!! They also had an ice cream truck positioned close to the splash pad and you know we had to get some dipped cones after our hike in the woods. Bring your bills/coins - the truck is cash only. Note, if you have one of the Canada 150 park passes, it does not work for free entry here. For entry for four adults we paid $26. All in all, Heart Lake is a lovely place to visit super close to Brampton.
