A really great park to check out in North Toronto. The park borders Bathurst Street and is just south of Sheppard. Very accessible by transit and by car and not to far from highway 401. There is plenty of parking and transit options available. However again, it does fill up quiet quickly so I recommend going early even to get parking. They have community events throughout the year and you can check out the community centre in the park for more information. Playgrounds, splash pad, an amphitheatre, dog off leash sections, picnic grounds and many trails can all be found here. They even have a ski and snowboard centre however based on the weather and Covid restrictions, you will need to check if this is in operation. I highly recommend going as early as you can in the warmer season for reserving picnic spots. It gets filled quiet quickly especially in the summer months. Permits may be needed for some activities so make sure to check with the city of Toronto for more information. My favourite part of the park is the wooden fenced trail over looking the pond. Check it out if you are in the North York area in Toronto.

Great scenery. My 8 year old loved it. Great spot for photography especially during fall

My new favorite park in Toronto. this was recommended by a acquaintance to come and see this park during the fall colors, and i have to say i was not disappointed in the spread of all of the colors. came here on thanksgiving monday as i had a day off for myself. i didn't do research on this park, which didn't do me any favors, i parked at the wrong parking lot, so i tried to get to the section my friend recommended and online it said to "scale down" the hill/mountain...getting down wouldn't have been an issue, but getting up...nope! all the nope! this park is massive to say the least, to the point where i didn't even get to see it all, but i encourage everyone to come and see this park as it has something for everyone. transit options are the 7 bathurst bus, and the 84 lawrence busses, this park is a bit of a walk from wilson, if you would like to stretch your legs lots of parking options as this park has multiple lots on the property. really happy with my experience at this park and will be back next year!

127 acres (51 hectares), smaller than some of the other parks but you can tell that a lot of thought was put into the planning of this well laid out, beautiful park. There are a few prime picnic areas that you can reserve but there are also plenty of picnic areas that you can grab if you go super early (6am on a holiday weekend) or late in the afternoon when the early birds start heading home. There are many picnic tables shaded by trees; but my favorite spot has to be the one near the Jose Rizal memorial which is sheltered by these gorgeous flowering trees with pink blossoms. Bbq grills are available but you can also bring your own grills, tables and even tents. Formerly a farm then a golf course: this park has one of the two ski & snowboard centres run by the City of Toronto. It totally took me by surprise to see a ski lift so far away from a mountain range. During the warm months the view from the top of the ski hill is beautiful. It's a wonderful place to sit down with a book and relax. With the panoramic view of the city skyline in front of you, you really just need to take it all in......and.....breathe. Bring the family, take along a picnic basket full of food and spend some quality time outdoors.

Another reason not to leave the city in the winter. Earl Bales has it all! A chairlift! Ski and snowboard rental and lessons! Run by the city (call 311). This little hill is perfect to learn on. Getting your perspective and being able to view the top to the bottom of the hill helps orient you. Try out some new gear before heading to the mountains. They even have snow making equipment and lights for night skiing. Plus there is a large open area of grass and in winter, snow. We tried out the trails for cross country skiing and haven't ventured too far, but it was varied and challenging in spots. The parking is ample and free so no excuse to get out for some exercise in all four seasons. The clubhouse looked busy and packed so I'm wondering how set up it is in there. I've driven in from Bathurst where it has a country club style low key entrance, and there looks to be another entrance around the corner that elicits further investigation. Worth a look!

Rambo likes the off-leash dog park. Get's really muddy in bad weather but you could always avoid the off-leash area and just go for a walk.

It's a great trail. Especially we went there in the fall. All the maple trees were either red or…read moreturning orange. We only walked the trails on foot; however, I think it is a good place for walking dogs or mountain biking.

LOL - I can't believe I've never written a review for this park that is literally in my backyard!…read more I've been going to Sunnybrook since I was a kid - my dad used to play cricket here with his work friends on the weekdays and I would have to come along and just chill in the park. The main entrance (for cars) is Leslie St (Leslie and Eglinton) and there are many parking lots as you drive though and many off side parking on the "street". This park goes on forever, so just keep driving through until you find a spot that you want to stop at. Some areas are smaller than others, but as you continue to move further into the park, you'll come across wide open fields where they play all the sports (cricket, soccer, baseball, etc) There are SOME grills here (although not sure if they were removed due to COVID), so definitely bring your own. You'll find plenty of open and/or shaded areas to enjoy a picnic or a snooze :) You can also bike in here and take a stroll among the many trails. Also, the Toronto Botanical Gardens and Edwards Gardens have a trail that lead right into Sunnybrook - sometimes it's nice to park a the Gardens, and walk into the park for lovely views. There used to be a horse barn/stables/horse riding in the middle of the park, but unfortunately a few years ago it burned down to to some people having a fireworks party (or prank - not sure which ) close to the stables. Very sad. There are washrooms located here (the main one being around parking lots 6-8) and it is clean (as far as park bathrooms go) I come here fairly often in the summer to have a quiet picnic and just relax. Truly one of the great things to do on a day off.

Very impressive off-leash area at St. Andrew's Park for doggies!…read moreIn King West where dogs outnumber human children at about 100 to one, the park at Adelaide and Brant Street, behind the Waterworks building, which is Toronto's oldest park, dogs rule the roost! The best part for dogs is the off-leash area, although most of the rest of the park can be enjoyed by dogs as well, but they need to be on-leash. The fenced off playgrounds with the monkey bars are the places where dogs are not allowed, so children only. The off-leash area covers about a quarter of the park area so is quite spacious giving Rover a large area to run around and do laps if you want, and chase a ball around, although they mainly play with each other. There are two entrances with one facing Adelaide and one facing Maude Street. Unfortunately, or fortunately if you like water-cooler chat, there is only one drinking fountain for the dogs and it needs a person to man the valve on the stand to release fresh water into the bowl below for the dogs. There is a bench right in front of that fountain so if you sit there you could be well trained to get up and water the pooches as they come over, which is fun for a while at least. Great place to first, grab a coffee at Impact or the Waterworks, and then socialize with the other dog people and let your dog run around, which is way more fun than simply taking them on a walk with a leash. Highly recommended in the King West area for a fun activity for both people and dogs alike!
