We went to their home opener at Northview High School recently and had a lot of fun. There were many cheering sections for individual players, and the atmosphere was friendly and exciting. Unfortunately they lost 87-0, but I still enjoyed being out watching some football! I don't know how/if the rules differ from NCAA or pro football but the general gist of the game is the same. They had a table selling merch, with lots of cool shirts/sweatshirts. I love being able to support local sports teams, so I'm looking forward to catching another game soon! They only have three home games this season, so be sure to check out their schedule.

If a pizza place fails at pizza then that's a bad sign. I usually just come here for drinks. And the revamp of their drink menu is impressive. So I went ahead with a 4 star. They now make a great old fashioned. You won't agree if you are one of those people that likes them almost as if you're drinking straight from the whiskey bottle. I'll move to scotch for that. They have a generous amount of sugar with the bitters. To me, that's how it should be. But many people have their preferences with this drink. The pizza I got was a 12 inch with a handful of toppings. About 26-27 dollars. Quite expensive for what is suppose to be a high end pizza. The biggest failure? Almost no sauce. I am not an "extra" sauce guy. But there has to be something discernible. And there was not. Add what seemed like way too much cheese and you have covered up what sauce you might have tasted. Would I get a pizza here again? No. Years ago I remember when they did a real cheap 10 inch pizza after 11pm for a few dollars. I enjoyed these immensely. There was never the same problem with these. Unfortunately they no longer do this. I still like this place for drinks. I will say that the dimly lit bar in such a giant place is unusual but very welcome. Some large bars have lights that are way too bright. There are not many people that want to stare into the sun on an evening out. I look forward to trying a few more of their new drinks. I realize there are scores of people that love the pizza here. And perhaps the person that made mine had an off day. I can only speak from my experience. Ticketing was a little confusing, the website indicated we needed to pay for parking ahead of time otherwise it would be an additional $5 the day of the game, so $15. I bought a parking pass online for $10 but then when we got to campus, no one checked or asked for this pass and there were "free" lots near the stadium - so I think I wasted $10. Not a great first impression, haha. We had to park a good distance away but followed the crowds toward the stadium, which is pretty small compared to the Big 10 stadiums I've been in, but bigger than a high school football stadium. They were lighting off fireworks after every time GVSU scored, which was a lot. (The final score was 56-3!) The energy from the bands and students was high and the weather was great. Concession prices were very reasonable and we got some chips and cheese and fountain beverages. Note that only small clutches/purses are allowed, or larger clear bags. They checked my purse but didn't have any metal detectors for people entering the stadium. The bleacher seating is pretty hard for sitting the entire time, but I saw people brought in padded seat cushions and we had a blanket.

They have nine different specialty burgers that come with two quarter pound patties, or you can substitute fried or grilled chicken for no charge. I got the Reveille (one egg cooked to order, bacon, and cheddar), and Nate got the Brushy Mountain with marinated chicken (you can also get it with fried chicken). Crinkle fries are standard, or you can get waffle fries or sweet potato fries for an up charge. Our food took a little bit of time to come out, but we enjoyed watching the MSU women's soccer game on the big TVs while we waited. The food was worth the wait, because it was super hot and fresh, and the burger was delicious. The patties were juicy and perfectly seasoned, the bacon was crispy, and the egg was cooked just like I wanted (over hard). It was a little greasy but I enjoy a greasy burger every once in awhile. I had a bite of the Brushy Mountain, which was also very good. The chicken was a little small but the flavors were great and the chicken wasn't overcooked. I'm so happy to have checked this place off my list, and will definitely be back the next time I'm in the area. If you like a juicy burger, you have to visit this place!
