One of the best minor league ballparks I've been to. Not a bad seat in the whole place. Whitecaps are competitive, and a game spent here drips with fan appreciation. Most of the concessions of late are wildly overpriced, though. You'll spend a pretty penny to feed your family at the game. Eat before you leave home, or wait for a Thursday Thursday or Dime Dog-type promotion. It's just really hard to justify $9.50 for a brat that's lots smaller than your typical Johnsonville. Beer value is so-so. Go Whitecaps! read more

I love a good Whitecaps game and have been to many here over the years! I love that the park is experimenting with different ways to have fans sit and receive food (my favorite is the 4-tops where you get 4 swivel seats at a dedicated table and a server delivers your drinks and food). There are many kinks that create pinch points regularly (CO2 issues seem to impact the entire park at once, making it where customers cannot get draft drinks or fountain pops) but the service is always friendly and helpful as much as possible. All in all, it's almost always a pleasant experience at the ballpark - and I look forward to seeing what expansions the future will bring! read more

I love going to Whitecaps games. The tickets are fairly cheap and there isnt a bad seat in the whole place. The atmosphere is always very good. Whether you are here just to be social, or actually watch the game, it is a good time regardless. As far as the food goes - they always have one cheap food/drink night - currently thurdays. The hot dogs are good for hot dogs, the fries too. But the majority of the time I hit up the kiosk food stations instead of the built-in concessions. I have had some really great food from them. The build your own burger, the gyro, the elephant ears. Parking sucks. They get you in fast, getting out is NOT fast. You essentially MUST leave the game early if you want to get out at any decent speed. Thank god there is always a Sheriff running the stoplight or you would absolutely never get anywhere. read more

Me and my wife had a date night at the park here tonight and it was just as wonderful as the weather. Sadly the whitecaps did lose to Wisconsin but overall it was a great game, ever since I was a kid I've been a fan of this place and while it's exchanged hands over the years it's still a reasonably priced fantastic summer outing destination with great hot dogs and pretzels, lots of light hearted in-between mini games and if you pick the right night like we did, you even get a free firework show! There's not many better ways to enjoy a Saturday with friends or loved ones. read more

I'm not a huge baseball fan, but I do enjoy hanging out at games during the warmer months. We're lucky to have LMCU Ballpark right outside of town for Whitecaps games! Nate and I were gifted tickets to this year's opening day and we had a blast. I remember going to games as a kid too, so it's fun to see that it's still a popular places for all ages. The ballpark is pretty small compared to places like Comerica Park, but it's clean, there are plenty of options for food, and tickets are cheap. The main headache is getting into the parking lot from US131 - a huge, slow-moving line forms onto the highway right around game time. Once you finally get in, the parking attendants are great. There is a fee to park and the whole place is cashless, so they do take credit cards for the parking fee. As someone who rarely has cash, this is really convenient. Tickets range from $10 for the lawn area up to $18 for premium box seats, or you can get a table spot with four seats for $35. I've usually gotten lawn tickets in the past - it's a nice area and you can bring in chairs and blankets. The gift shop is quite large and really nicely maintained, with lots of great items including several shirts, hats, etc. with the Whitecaps' honorary mascots the Dam Breakers and Bungholes and some others. Prices are decent and there's something for everyone in the gift shop. I may have to get a Whitecaps shirt to wear to games! LMCU does fun theme nights and discounts for Whitecaps games, including princess day, Star Wars day, senior discounts, etc. I love the fun activities and games they do between innings and it's fun to try to get on the big screen doing your best air guitar. I'm looking forward to checking out another Whitecaps game at LMCU this summer. They also host meetings, company picnics and events, weddings, concerts, trade shows, etc. read more

My experience was awful !!!! Bought 7 tickets on July 3 sat in the founders rooftop thought we were getting individual seats and how the seats were sold that we were getting seats not picnic table where no one could see the game except the first two people setting there. I have not been to a game in 8 years and was looking forward to a family outing. The lines were so long for food it was a waste of time getting any. Save your money don't buy ticket out there in the out field. Left after the 3 inning. read more

One of my favorite minor league ballparks anywhere in the country. They always have such fun games and theme days (I went on Superhero Day) and they always involve the children in the crowd. The entertainment and music between innings is always fantastic. The on field announcer is very good and gets the crowd involved. Of course you can't go to a game here and not try some of their unique food items. Give their menu a look over and always visit the food stand at the end of the stands on the left field line. Lots of places to sit on the lawn, family and group seating and even a handful of suites. Bring the family, or a group from work. It's always a good time! read more

Went as a guest of my cousin her company gave her free tickets. I have never been to a baseball game before so I was very excited. I was very disappointed in the food. For as much as it cost, was NOT worth it. The cheese for the pretzel or cheese fries is the same and you can taste it come outs of a can. The fries were stale. The pretzel didn't stay soft it hardened after 5 mins. The stadium is small but its nice good view almost anywhere you sit. I would just not recommend eating there save yourself money and eat before or after not worth the expense! read more

If you've ever been to a Whitecaps game, I KNOW you have precious memories there like I do. Whether it's catching a foul ball, getting to take part in an on-field promotion, eating dippin dots, getting your face painted, or spilling your beer while walking back to your seat - kids of all ages make memories at the ballpark. Crash and Franky (the mascots) are the funniest duo and if you see them, you're sure to get a fist bump or if you're wearing a hat, they'll probably try to take it. If you're not a huge fan of the usual greasy ballpark burgers and fare, I HIGHLY recommend the quesadillas from the Steak Wagon!! I get one every single time and this is coming from someone who LOVES ballpark burgers, hotdogs, fries. All of it. I love it all! But the quesadillas are out of this world. Super nice minor league park. Many different types of seating options. You have protective seating behind home plate to the outer end of the dugout, upper seating , lawn seating and side bleachers. I sat at the lower end of first base by the dugout great seat but I was behind the protective netting. I never got used to the netting being in my sight line. The food choices were many from you standards hot dogs,nachos,sausages to gyros, stir fry, build your own burger, pizza and others I can't remember . They have many beer choices especially craft choices. There was a Founders stand set up in the stadium. The quality of baseball was good for A ball. Got to meet Lance Parrish before the game what a great gentleman. I will put this on my baseball summer tour again next year. Our friend treated us to a Whitecaps game and what a difference it was versus going to a Tigers game! The parking and traffic was easy to navigate, we found parking close by and getting into the park was very easy. Plenty of food and drink options that were all at a reasonable price. Our seats were just to the left of home plate, close enough to see everything really nicely. We happened to be there on Princess night, and all of the side show events like the races and such were really funny and entertaining. You can't beat an announcer that is dressed like the Beast from Beauty and the Beast. I can't wait to go again, it was so nice to enjoy a night out and not go broke from the food or drinks! read more

I'm never disappointed in my visits to the park. The park is very well laid out, clean, and well maintained. Employees are easy to find and seem eager to serve. Amenities, including food and drinks, are plentiful. The baseball is great to watch as up and coming players are working hard to hone their skills, endeavoring to move up. We host a company outing at the Whitecaps every year. Everytime we come, I'm always impressed with how well run and clean everything is. This year's event in the Pepsi Stadium Club was no different. Walking through the ballpark you can just tell that they care about the appearance and upkeep. I feel it's very clean compared to some other large sporting venues you visit, granted it's not a major league team... But still. Not only are there numerous seating options ( seats, bleachers, grass, suites, outfield clubs, BBQs, etc,) they have tons of food and drink options, & fun stuff for kiddos ( pitching area, inflatables, & play ground). We usually get to the game before it starts and never have had an issue parking. Their parking attendants are super helpful. JD has helped with our event every year and he's super helpful and very accommodating and responsive- great to work with. Lori has been awesome to work with as far as getting merchandise for the group, even customized Whitecaps gear. Sam was awesome last night in making sure our group was taken care of and all needs met. Nick was a rockstar bartender. Our team looks forward to our yearly event and Whitecaps/ Fifth Third make it a pleasure to plan and attend. read more

My favorite place to see a baseball game! Yes, I love Comerica and Wrigley, but The Whitecaps are doing it right. The games are fun, even if this year the baseball hasn't been that great. We enjoy the food but have two complaints: 1. Having a Styrofoam hot dog boat concerns me. Since there is no place to recycle them, they have to go in the trash. 2. Need to get paper straws. We get to Fifth Third Park as often as we can and will continue to. It is a great way to spend an afternoon or evening without breaking the bank. read more

I grew up watching baseball games when I was a Kid, and I haven't been since. I came here and it was nostalgic for me. Everything that was at the baseball stadium was just like I remembered as a child. Fifth Third Ballpark is a very impressive facility for single A baseball. It has a big league feel to it but still has the trappings that make the minor league game so enjoyable (contests between innings, inexpensive tickets and parking, great views of the field, etc.). One small quibble is that staff needs to be a little more ready for people with disabilities. We had accessible and companion seats behind home plate. While this is nice and while there are barrier-free entrances, my wife needed an elevator to avoid stairs to get to our seats. We found it eventually but the staff seemed not to know as much as they should to get us to our seats. All in all, this is a must-stop for the baseball fan coming through town. read more

However, every home Thursday night game is $2 beers and $2 hot dogs, which makes for a reasonable night out. Across from the main enterance is a free park and ride if you get there early enough, and if you get their too early ELK Brewing is just a short walk. Go Caps! read more

Minor league ballparks generally fall into two camps: 1) ones that try to harken back to the (g)olden days of baseball; and 2) ones that try to appeal to families. If you are looking for the latter, Fifth Third Ballpark is a must visit. I've been to dozens of minor league ballparks and Fifth Third is one of the most family friendly, amenity-laden ballparks around. HOMERS: -- Amazing concession selection. 5/3 Ballpark has as many choices as any major league ballpark. To top it off they have the legendary 5/3 Burger as featured in Man vs. Food. -- Tons of amenities for the kids: kids run the bases, kids play catch on the field, bounce house, playground, between inning games... you name it and this place has it. -- First pitch experience: Usually to throw out the first pitch at a game you have to be a minor celebrity, a military hero, or work for a team sponsor. Here, RK was able to be one of the people throwing out a ceremonial first pitch through the team's First Pitch Experience. Definitely worth it. -- The staff here is as friendly as they come. From the ticket takers to those working behind the scenes. Good Midwest hospitality. -- The team's Tigers connection really shines through. From banners of Tiger players who played for West Michigan to orange seats from Tiger Stadium to Tiger alumni appearances, they do a great job of connecting the minor league experience to the big league team. -- For a single-A stadium, there are tons of great areas for groups and parties. Not just luxury suites but outfield decks and seating down the line that would make for a great work outing. STRIKEOUTS: -- Architecturally, the place is totally blah. As minor league ballparks go, Fifth Third Ballpark is the cream of the crop. It's a single-level, 10,000 seat venue that's small enough to feel comfortable and big enough to get excited. Not a bad seat in the house --really. There's ample parking ($5), easy in-and-out access through multiple gates, and lots to see, eat, and do. Concessions at Fifth Third are its crown jewel: There's everything from the standard ballpark fare of hot dogs and beer to more gourmet and satisfying options like fresh wraps, pulled-pork sandwiches, and premium mixed drinks. Concession pricing is reasonable; smaller items like dogs and burgers run $2.75-$4.50, while premium items like the wraps and sandwiches run $6.50-$8. Beer is around $5 for macrobrew draughts, up to $8.50 for domestic microbrews. The West Michigan Whitecaps are generally a competitive team in a well-stocked feeder system for the Detroit Tigers. Fifth Third Ballpark was the 23rd baseball stadium I've visited this year, and it was nice, the entertainment level was great, and the play on the field was good....but something was missing. Not sure what it was. If you are a foodie, you won't go hungry here. There are a dozen things I wanted to try, and was only able to do a couple, I may be back just to try more food. I definitely enjoyed some of the play on words they used for their stands, my favorite was "I need a gyro" but maybe that's just because I love 80s music. If you are a fan of baseball at all, and live in the area, you have to go. Cheap tickets, quality baseball, and a whole bunch of entertainment to boot....I'm a fan. read more

Great Single A ballpark in Grand Rapids (or close by, anyway). It's just as nice as the best of the Triple A stadiums that I've visited (Round Rock, Albuquerque). The team's pretty good (it's A, so they are learning) and the atmosphere is top-notch. It's family friendly and there's plenty of parking. Attendance at a July 3 game was pretty impressive, better than most if not all RR games I've seen. I will say that the 10 cent hot dogs they offered on 10 cent hot dog night were pretty awful-looking, and many people didn't bother to finish the ones they got. You get your money's worth, I guess. All in all, though, it's hard to beat a fun night at Fifth Third with the Whitecaps. As an aside, they played the Lansing Lugnuts (great name) and it's fair to say the LL outfielders had no idea when to dive for a catch, giving the Whitecaps several "free" runs. They were so bad at it that I saw the first inside-the-park home run that I've ever seen in professional baseball. Crazy. read more

I went to a Saturday night game and the atmosphere was great. Everyone seemed to be enjoying the game and the stadium looked pretty full. I could not spot any empty seats which made it feel like a big stadium even though it does not have a huge capacity. The prices are a little high but it is what you expect when you attend a sporting event. I enjoyed two well made drinks that sent me on my way so no complaints from me about that. They made sure to take care of me when they served it up. It is great way to spend some family time or to go with friends. You may not get caught up watching the game but you will have a chance to socialize and catch up with others you are with. It was a positive experience and I hope to attend another game some time soon! read more

Great minor league ballpark. It holds over 10,000 people and has a little more character than other minor league parks I've been to. There's different outlets behind the outfield wall, grassy knolls next to each foul pole as well as the nice touch of box seats instead of bleachers for the first 8 rows or so. Plus tickets to a Whitecaps game are beween $5-$13....that's cheaper than a movie! Although I was kinda surprised they were charging $5 to park...guess they're making it up in the long run. Food and beverage-wise, lots of offerings. And I was impressed they had other draft beer choices than the usual suspects. All in all a nice time whether you're young or old, single or familying it up. read more

$7 for parking, $3.50 for a bottle of water, $7.50 for Beer Cheese Poutine (which may have been good if the waffle fries hadn't been fried the previous week and kept on a warmer). I expected to pay a lot for snacks and drinks but also expected that water would be cold and the food edible. This stadium was not built so that two lines of people walking in opposite directions through the food/drink area can manage to do so without rubbing shoulders. And the screaming people behind us hawking raffle tickets through the first 7 innings!! OMG! I give this a one star because the young men on the field played hard and won the game. I guess I'm spoiled because we mostly go to Dow Diamond; $4 parking, fresh food that's worth the price, standing table areas where you can eat other than at your seat, and generous walking areas. Give it a try if you get a chance. read more

Had a GREAT EXAMPLE of the lost art of customer service. I was getting some food for myself and a family member when I had my hands full and tried to balance everything on a plate....my fries toppled and hit the floor. Needless to say I was not happy. And no.....NONE of the MANY workers who saw me struggling with my load offered to get me a tray.....but a young lady decided to pick up the slack where others failed and kindly went and got me some new fries and a tray. Hopefully the others got the message. I wish I got her name, but Kudos and 5 stars to that gal!!! read more

It is a nice field with good food and baseball. Their aren't many seat available because most seating is bleachers. Overall the field is great and so are the people. You should come watch the Whitecaps here in Comstock Park. read more

The Christmas lights at the ballpark - nice for kids but expensive on the parent's pocketbook. $12 a car load. It is PRICEY for what they offer. Oh but they let you drive through twice! read more
