Places like the Music Festival, Ideas Festival, and the Snowmass Rodeo are all free! Even the trip to Glenwood Springs isn't priced terribly. Drivers: While most of the drivers are nice, quite a few of them drive a bit abrasively. Very hard on the brakes. Consistently late: Unfortunately, the RFTA buses are rarely on time. There is an app that tracks the buses, but it is really frustrating when 3 buses show up at once, and you've been waiting for a half hour. Local Buses v. Express Buses: Some buses stop much more frequently than others. The express buses save a ton of time and are more like coach buses. They also have great free wifi. The local buses, except from Glenwood Springs, aren't nearly as nice, but stop more if you don't know exactly where you are going. Enjoy the free and clean buses, and be sure to download the app! It includes bus schedules and a real-time tracker.

We called and they did come to pick us up at the hotel since they weren't busy. So we didn't have to walk to a stop. The driver was friendly. Asked us to put our masks on. He also had masks for people who didn't have one. After we were done with our dinner, we walked across the street like we were advised to wait for the ride back. I called to make sure they knew we were at the stop since it was dark. The shuttle drove past us and screeched to a stop some yards away. We ran to get on it. It stopped at the main terminal building so the driver could use the facilities. She wanted to get some beer for the room but he said he didn't know where we could get some but he said we could head over to a particular bar which was open. The driver was impatient and a little short. So we hopped out again but the bar was closed and we ended up having to wait at the main terminal for an hour. We were not happy. We tried to catch the shuttle on the opposite side of the road after waiting a while thinking we would simply ride it into Fraser and back instead of sitting in a lonely terminal. The shuttle came round again and this time the driver was in a better mood. He dropped us off in front of our hotel which was not a scheduled stop but they do that when they're not busy. Which was a nice option. If you visit during the off season like we did I recommend simply driving into town because it's not as busy and there's parking to be found. During peak season this shuttle is a nice option.

Once we were on the busses, they were packed to the brim with standing room only. Would not recommend at all.

These new Flatiron Flyer stations are great! Service to Union Station every 15 minutes throughout…read morethe day (via FF1) and to Civic Center Station during rush-hour (FF4) is super convenient. They recently upgraded all the stations along the US-36 corridor with new covered seating and digital schedule displays. This is a huge upgrade from what they had before! There is also a paper map of bus routes with daily schedules available for you to peruse at your leisure. This particular station has plenty of parking no matter when you arrive. There is a pedestrian tunnel under US-36 to an additional parking lot and the westbound gates. Busses generally run on-time, although I have encountered a couple instances when they didn't show up at all. Aside from that, though, this is a great alternative to driving! Pro-Tip: if you have an iPhone (or other smartphone), there are lots of great apps for tracking public transit. My personal favorites are Moovit & Transit. If you frequently use RTD, these are really helpful.
