In all seriousness, this location is in a high traffic area and there's usually a line extending out the door (granted the interior's not very big). You can see the menu from afar so you can decide in advance before ordering. Let's just say I came back to this very location three times in the span of two days we spent in the city. Three scoops each time - at just $9 AUD mind you - with different flavors. I always defaulted to two fruity flavors and one savory - my favorites being blood orange and tiramisu. Seriously though, the gelato texture here is spot on; creamy, smooth, easy to eat, and most importantly, the fruity flavors aren't JACKED with sugar. That's a struggle with a lot of other places I've had, but this spot nails the true-to-taste flavor profile. I didn't even take pictures of the gelato bc I got too excited to down it all. :( But give it a try - it's some of the best gelato I've had, and it's so accessible here. It first caught my attention on our first night in Sydney back in February while we were heading towards Chinatown when I realized that there was a huge line for what appeared to be frozen yogurt. A few nights later, our last night in Sydney, my son and I were finishing up dinner and looking for a treat. We remembered Freo and headed over. It was a Friday night around 9p, and when we got there the line was stretching out the door. We decided to wait. The anticipation built as we got inside, continued to make our way to the frozen yogurt and then to the counter with all of the toppings. In addition to a lot of the usual toppings, they had whole lychee, which was a wonderful surprise. We loaded up and found a seat outside. The yogurt was amazing - the perfect creamy texture with a wonderful tart flavor. It's the closest thing I've had to Yogorino in all these years, and a wonderful treat to end our adventures in Australia.

Also, it's just up the street from Messina (which I adore) so I just didn't really ever see myself going here. All of that being said, we stopped in last Friday and I think I've been converted. I don't eat a lot of froyo, but it the actual frozen yogurt was nicer than what I've had at other shops. I do agree that froyo tends to be a different type of sweet compared to ice cream and gelato. I would definitely go for round two. They serve the froyo and put on the toppings on for you here. It's determined by size and toppings (rather than the weight). It was something like $4 for the small cup (which is quite big) and then either .50 for a single topping, or just $1 for as many toppings as they can fit. I had about 4 toppings on mine and could have fit more if I wanted. So can be a bit more expensive if you didn't want a larger serving, but generally seemed like standard prices.

I have been here at least six or seven times and I don't think I've ever seen the crazy lines you see over at some of the other more well known shops. The ice cream here is made with the highest quality ingredients. In fact, they even sell the Jersey milk at the shop. My son swears it's the best milk he's ever had in his life (and this from the boy who grew up drinking organic, bottled milk back in Northern CA... so he knows what he is talking about). The have a small(ish) selection of ice creams, written by hand on a sheet each day. When they run out of a flavor, they run out, but I can always find another ice cream to try. My favorite is the Creme Brulee, but I haven't had anything here yet that I did not love. It is creamy and made by hand, and the boys that run this place are really, really nice. Give it a try, Inner Westies, you won't regret it.

You see the staff here are lovely and attentive. They take time to really make you a nice frozen yogurt, dotting precious Mini-Oreos around your froyo like they were decorating a wedding cake. Or sprinkling M&Ms like rose petals. Or... okay, okay, that's enough. The selections of flavours are limited to around four, with original and taro remaining consistent and the other two alternating. Strawberry and mango are also quite common from what I've seen walking by this little World Square outlet. While it is not the best frozen yogurt I've tasted, I did prefer the consistency and taste to Moochi (which is just up the road). When I finished I still wanted to eat more, so that's not a bad sign. The topping selection is also a little limited but I didn't have trouble selecting a few old favourites to add to my Taro. Still a few more fun (or healthy) options go a long way. In addition to the pleasant service and half-decent froyo, I found Yogurberry to also be quite affordable given the serving size and amount of toppings (a medium size cup for $5.70 has two flavours of froyo and three toppings). Will I go back? Yes. Will it ever be 'the one'? No.

There was something so sweet & simple about that. I wish you would see that more in the states. The gelato flavors change what seems like every day or every few days. I came here a few times during my trip and every time there were new specialty flavors on the board. Overall, most of the gelato flavors were too sweet for my liking but I was able to find a few that were palatable - bounty being one of them. The only reason I give it three stars is because of that, most flavors were too sweet. If that's your thing then you may love this place. I love that they stay open really late as well. In a city where most stuff closes early compared to what I'm used to, I did appreciate being able to get late night gelato especially because I love ice cream!
