It's been two years and I'm back. I was very pleased with my meal tonight, as was my partner. We started with one order of avocado roll, an order of steamed vegetable dumpling and two entrees - Healthy Chicken with vegetables and Healthy Beef with Broccoli. The avocado roll, although a simple arrangement of rice, seaweed and avocado, was very good. A nice big chunk of avocado in each piece. The steamed dumpling (6 in the serving) were large, each with a good texture and nice flavor inside. The inside veggies taste like what I would associate with the vegetable insides of an egg roll. Nothing fancy, but tasty. We ordered from the Healthy menu to be . . . healthy. It's billed as no oil, low salt and sauce on the side. In addition to being tasty, the meats were flavorful and had a good chew, and the veggies were nice and crisp. The sauce on the side concept really worked for us. We used total a little more than half of one (the garlic sauce) and a little of the other (brown sauce). And the garlic sauce was really spicy and good. The service tonight was great. Our water glasses were filled several times each, without us having to ask. This is the only restaurant in the area that I know of that includes "sauce on the side" on the menu. We recently went to a Chinese restaurant in Rockville and asked for sauce on the side - they responded that "we don't do that." It was a cold night tonight and the restaurant was really, really cold inside. I'm deducting a point from my otherwise 5-star rating because it was pretty uncomfortable. I'm upping this place from a 3 to a 4 star. Worth a visit, just probably not on a cold night. read more

This was honestly one of the worst Chinese food experiences I've had. I ordered the General Tso's chicken, and not only was there not a single vegetable included, but the overall quality was extremely disappointing. It tasted very cheap--definitely not what you'd expect for a $16 dish. On top of that, I noticed the woman preparing sushi was talking on the phone the entire time while making the rolls. That raised serious concerns about hygiene and professionalism. Overall, the food quality and cleanliness standards were far below expectations. I would not recommend this place. read more

The prices of the lunch special are exceptional! I was quite impressed with the amount of food I got for $9.99 and that egg roll was STUFFED! Shrimp, cabbage, beef, and all the flavors you can imagine. Definitely a quick, simple, and delicious meal tonight. The food was still hot when it arrived. I had the chicken satay, the peanut sauce was a bit confusing, I was expecting a thicker sauce with some spice and I thought I'd be able to taste the tangy sweetness of the rice vinegar and soy sauce, but it had no flavor at all which I found odd for peanut sauce. I also had the Hunan chicken medium spice level, next time I'll choose spiciest possible because this needed some more pizzazz. I also got the gold fire maki roll in a separate bag and this was the star of the show. The flavor was there and so was the presentation, 10/10 I'll be getting this again. Ordered carry out. Ordered General Tsos Chicken, Hot and Sour Soup and Wonton Soup. The wonton soup broth was fair. A slightly metallic taste but suitable as a base. The Wontons were large but with very little filling. Certainly not something I would order again but not horrible. The hot and sour soup was fair. The broth had a slightly acidic flavor but was workable. There was a large amount of wood ear that I like but hardly any mushrooms. The bamboo shoots were prominent but the tofu was almost non existent. The viscosity was well done. Now, the Generals Tsos Chicken. Many of the pieces were all batter. Not a piece of chicken to be found. On whole, there weren't many pieces that were other than slivers of dark meat in an overwhelming amount of batter. On the positive side the sauce was not cloyingly sweet. On whole, disappointing. Will not return to this establishment. Far too many choices. read more

Service is always fast and friendly. Ambience leaves a little to be desired (wallpaper is dated and peeling) but the food and service more than make up for it. read more

Ordered chicken pad thai. Unfortunately, it was very runny, the chicken was bland, and had a taste to it that made it hard to eat. I gave up about 1/4 of the way. I also ordered a thai tea, which is a favorite of mine. I didn't want bubbles added to it, and didn't realize it was added unless ordered otherwise. That was my fault. The lady at the counter poured the tea into another cup with a strainer, and when completed you realize how much tea there really is, about 3/4 of the cup and that was with ice in it. She filled the cup the rest of the way up even though I ordered light ice. I tried the tea and it definitely has a bitter taste to it and taste like something I haven't tried. So, that as well will be something I can't finish. Very sad to have to write a bad review, however, I believe it to be necessary. It is a bit over priced for what is served as well. read more

I am a pescatarian and I especially enjoy the shrimp fried rice (lots of big shrimp), spicy salmon sushi, pad Thai, and the shrimp curry is my favorite! Just dry beef, peanuts, water chestnuts covered in overwhelming garlic. Writing it off as they were having an off night, I gave it another shot. This time was even worse. Got take out from this place that has a variety of Asian cuisines on the menu, including a healthy choice with sauce on the side. All that we ordered was quite good, large portions and fresh tasting. It is very convenient for us to carry out there because it is close for us and they are excellent in handling carry out since they reopened after being closed for a long time because of Covid 19. This is your standard reliable neighbor, not too sexy or original, but solid. I am surprised to see some of the negative comments from other Yelpers. Over the years I've eaten here maybe 10-20 times. This is where my daughter wanted to come for dinner after her ballet performance. I can tell you that if the food was nasty or anything else, no way could this place have survived this long. The service last night, as always, was quick. I ordered and waited quietly at a table for maybe 8 minutes (they promised me 10) until the order came, all packaged and ready to go. The atmosphere is fine. Clean and bright dining room, small bar in the front (I can't imagine sitting at the bar!). My family has had the sushi from here in the past and it's fine, it's not the place we would go for sushi or for sushi takeout, but if we're there for Chinese and someone wants sushi, the restaurant is ready. Beer selection is nothing to crow about, and they have Tsingtao so no more need be said, that's what you get (over Bud or other domestic choices). Grand Fusion is pretty much what you want from a family-run, neighborhood restaurant: consistency, friendliness, good food, not exorbitantly priced. I ordered take out 1/7/2021 for my family. I ordered the chicken with broccoli and could not eat it. The chicken tasted as if it had sat out too long. The whole dish tasted sour. This wad my first visit to Grand Fusion so I didn't have any expectations. I returned the Satay Tofu with peanut sauce as the sauce had absolutely no flavor. The tofu was light and crispy but without sauce, it didn't have any flavor either. The Panang Curry was excellent - full of shrimp and very lightly spiced. It's a huge portion!!!!
