I felt awful about it, but he never once seemed annoyed or frustrated. He just walked me through everything -- how certain designs age, what would hold up, what wouldn't -- and he put me completely at ease. That's why I went straight back to him when I lost Barley, my dog and my first baby. I trusted him. We ended up going in a totally different direction than what I originally planned, and he adapted without hesitation. He took what I brought in and made it even more personal and meaningful. The process was emotional, but honestly healing, and I'm grateful he was the one guiding me through it. The tattoo he created is exactly what I hoped for: delicate, clean, fine line work that will age well. He's thorough, informative, and incredibly skilled. More than that, he's steady and patient in a way that makes you feel taken care of during something meaningful. I'm really grateful he was part of this.

I had a pretty detailed and complicated vision, and she was able to produce a custom piece that was beyond my expectations. The studio is cozy and clean and close to all the best parts of Broad Ripple (so I could treat myself to a new plant at Snakeroot and a beer or three at the Alley Cat after my appointments). When the day of my appointment came, I'm not gonna lie--I was nervous. I'd chosen to go all-in with a large first piece, and I was unsure how I'd react to the new environment (though I was also really excited because of how awesome the artwork was). Cass was great at explaining the process and made me immediately feel comfortable and welcomed. She continued to be communicative and gentle throughout the process, and we took breaks as needed. (It didn't hurt nearly as much as I'd always imagined it would; though I also chose a less painful area to start with, fwiw.) All this so far would have gotten a 5-star review from me. Had that been my entire experience, I still would have been completely satisfied. However, I was also lucky enough to be there on a day when two other artists--Johnny and Micah--were in, and both of them were awesome enough to chat with me about all kinds of random things we all had in common, and it totally made the experience above and beyond. Like, these people sort of feel a wee little bit like family now, and I can't wait until I get to go back and see them and have a needle jabbed into me for many, many more hours.
