The Wine & Tapas Lounge - Wine daiquiri

My friend and I wanted to kick off my bday celebration and decided to give this place a try. It's a…read moresmall event space but cute. Not that large that I would think it's a lounge, more like a bar or pub. You have to scan to pull up the menu and immediately there's no wine or drink menu. Princess our waitress suggested the wine daiquiris which was a mix of strawberry and mango. It was overly sweet and couldn't even taste any wine, so my friend didn't even drink hers. The "tapas" menu was only like 4 things to choose from, we expected much more. We had honey lemon pepper wings, jerk salmon bites first. I then ordered after asking if they do Buffalo with lemon pepper since that wasn't an option wings. That's an extra 75 cents to make what is a common wing flavor. So they are setting up birthday parties, while we are wrapping up. This location opened October 2022, and we were told by our waitress that brunch was better and more options. We automatically charged gratuity although it was only 2 of us and we weren't told until we had to pay. The music was so loud we had to ask for it to be turned down so we could hear and talk. There was no one there but the employees because they had no customers. With all the plazas around it was hard to find this place, even the employees order food from Uber instead of eating here. I like to support small businesses but would say this is not somewhere I want to go again or recommend to anyone else. Our waitress, Princess was very nice and attentive despite all the negatives.

The process to place a reservation for a group was seamless and I received a response within 24 hours. I found the menu online and was pleasantly surprised at the prices. They were what I would consider typical for brunch in the metro Atlanta area. Upon arrival on the day of my brunch there was a DJ playing music and I met the owner Voneka. She was so nice and it was good to finally put a face with the person I had been texting. Immediately, I loved the decor and I loved the vibe. This space is super cute and very quaint. I loved the colors and the VIP area. They are amazing photo opportunity spots. The candles on the table added that extra touch of cuteness and they smelled amazing. Our server Princess was very friendly and polite. She was accommodating and ensured she communicated with us often. We LOVED the food and the drinks were superb. In our group we really enjoyed the wine slushie, the salmon omelette, the salmon grits, and the breakfast sliders. The service at this spot was absolutely amazing. The food and drinks tasted amazing. The DJ played great music and it wasn't too loud that we couldn't hear one another. We sang, we danced, and we had a great time. This venue did it all. We will definitely be back. Parking is the lot of the shopping center and there are lots of spaces directly in front of the venue.

I was given a start date, only to later find out that the establishment was actually closed that day. No one from management informed me. I had to go out of my way to contact another owner whose number I found on Instagram just to be told the place was closed. Situations like this show a serious lack of organization and respect for people's time. If management cannot properly communicate something as basic as whether the business is open, it raises concerns about how the establishment is run overall. I also noticed that most of the reviews here appear to be from several years ago, which makes me question whether the current experience reflects what customers can expect today. Based on my experience, I would encourage others to do their research before choosing to support this business.

As far as the food goes.. it was the best I've had from a restaurant in a while! We got the homemade chicken tenders (not pictured because it was too good to photograph), and the chicken egg rolls which were big enough to get full off of just one roll. I enjoyed the sauce that came with the egg rolls, it paired well with the ingredients inside . If you don't feel like sitting inside they also do delivery ! The service was good, and the waiting staff were all very friendly. The atmosphere and decor were also very nice, except for the music being very loud. I like music, but when I'm eating and trying to hear the conversation with my wife, very loud music can be annoying. Most people had to either talk loudly or lean over the table to hear the person they were talking to. I think that the music volume should be based on the crowd and time of day. We were there on Sunday evening for dinner at 6:15 PM, not to "party" while trying to eat. I would suggest turning the music up at around 8:30 to 9:00 PM because most people will have eaten dinner by that time.

One of the things I really liked about this place is that they have daily events. Depending on the night, you can enjoy live bands, karaoke, and other fun entertainment, which makes the atmosphere lively and fun. The staff was always readily available and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout the evening. The drinks were also really good and well made. Overall, it's a great spot if you're looking for good Caribbean food, tasty drinks, and a fun atmosphere with entertainment. Definitely worth checking out!

Swigzz looked charming and normal outside but inside was bright, clean and lively. Well lit and after waiting for someone to place my game on a screen, I ordered a blue moon, because they didn't carry draft beer or Shocktop.... Something I pray they will correct going forward. The waitress returned to tell me they were out of blue moon and I had to settle for coors light instead, my universal go to. Moving ahead, around the 4th quarter internet connectivity became an issue and I missed the first half of the fourth quarter, waiting for the steelers to come back against the streaking Chicago Bears. That's when a nice waitress brought over her ipad and allowed me to finish the game. We lost anyway. No allow me to back up for a second. With all the ups and downs of my initial visit to Swigzz, something special happened as I watched the first half of the pittsburgh game. I ordered they are nachos with beef and a side of guacamole. I give the Beef nachos a A -, because the cheese was not my favorite. It could just be me. Nevertheless, I finished my plate, nachos and scraped all the cheese and tidbits off of my plate. That's when the waitress reminded me that I had not had my guacamole because they were making it fresh in the back. She agreed to bring me a plate of chips to go with the guac. Thinking this was gonna be a bummer and I was really focused on the game. 10-15 minutes after finishing my nachos , the guacamole arrived with the extra chips. I over eat at times and thought about passing on this trailing item. Since I had paid for it, I decided to take a chip and dip it in the guacamole. What I experienced next was one of the most awesome culinary orgasmic moments I've had in my five decades if life. The absolute perfect blend of avocado, lime and whatever else they use....exploded throughout my palette and sent shock waves through my soul. When I decided to write this , I did not know if I wanted to start with the guacamole or end with the connectivity issues and the amount of Pittsburgh Steeler plays I missed. However this guacamole experience overshadowed everything that I experienced during my first visit to Swiggz, and yes, I plan to return really soon. And while I did not listen to the bartender the first time. I will be getting a large order during my next visit. Stop by and check them out.

There was plenty of free parking available and no cover fee. I was the last one to arrive at the table (only about 5 minutes late). When I sat down, there was already a drink tower on the table along with cups and water. Our server was quick to put in drink and food orders, but not as attentive. I ordered a sprite and she brought a can that was dented without noticing, so it had to be exchanged to avoid an explosion upon opening it. The food was just okay. I liked their cheese sticks, but the house salad with salmon was lacking flavor. No one at the table seemed to love their food. A few ordered pasta, wings and differing apps. Overall, we enjoyed the music selection that the djay played and the vibes were good. They required a large deposit for reservations, but it seemed like there were plenty of empty seats available and ease to walk in and sit either at the bar or at a table without one. I am not sure if I'd return any time soon, but it was not a bad experience.
