A friend and I visited this restaurant about 2 months ago. I was looking for a place that I had not been to. What a mistake! First of all, we waited about 15 minutes before a server acknowledged us. It appeared as if they all were preparing for a large group event. I ordered the wings which were tasty but a small potion. In addition, I had a house salad which was fine. I believe my friend had the fried catfish which she described as OK. We decided to order drinks. I had a margarita with Don Julio tequila, and she had a long island ice tea. The margarita cost $18.50, while the long island ice tea was $17.00. We have had the same drink for less elsewhere. The ambience was more like a party environment and not suited to an early dinner. I actually had a great time. Went for someone's 55th birthday. According to her it was $300 deposit for a section for 15 ppl. I believe she got two bottles for deposit. I was drinking Ketel One on the rocks. It was $18. My friend had a Strawberry Hennessy margaritas and that was $21. Ridiculous...right? Date night was great and I have gone back several times since my first visit. Besides the hospitality, what I can say I most appreciated was the "vibe". There is something there for everyone. They had a DJ and live music on both sides. There is a cigar bar attached to one side but the cigar smell doesn't come in and interfere with patrons who don't smoke who are on the main dining room side. Plenty of free onsite parking. We got the thai chili wings (wee bit dry but tasty nonetheless), the Brussels (loved), and the oxtails (loved, fall of the bone, could be a smidge too salty for some). The side of broccoli had just the right bite and I really liked the rice. Topped it off with a superb bread pudding dessert. Our server never came back after taking drink orders, so I couldn't ask questions or clarify anything. I ordered the oyster mushrooms, expecting them to come sauced like the menu suggested, but they arrived plain -- just battered, greasy mushrooms with no flavor and no vegan ranch even though it was listed. My server didn't bring the food, so I couldn't even check on what was missing. If you're going for the fun, the drinks, the birthday energy -- go for it. It's great for that. The only problem with that is, its away from the other people in the back. So we choose to sit and listen to dj. We got there about 7 and was told comedy starts at 9. By 9:15 no comedy we left. The salmon sliders were good, but they were small pieces. I had them there before the name change and I didnt remember the portion being so small. The Brussels sprouts were good. But $16 for a side, to me is crazy. I love brussell sprouts but when did they because such an uncharge. The 3 slider were $16. I was still hungry. I guess I should have opted for a whole meal. I added catfish and fries and it was good. The drinks were just okay. Overall I would come back because my peps loved the layout,and decor. But I think 9pm is late for comedy show and especially at 9.15 there was no mention of a comedian even in the building. Free parking and free admission. The atmosphere and decor were also very nice, except for the music being very loud. I like music, but when I'm eating and trying to hear the conversation with my wife, very loud music can be annoying. Most people had to either talk loudly or lean over the table to hear the person they were talking to. I think that the music volume should be based on the crowd and time of day. We were there on Sunday evening for dinner at 6:15 PM, not to "party" while trying to eat. I would suggest turning the music up at around 8:30 to 9:00 PM because most people will have eaten dinner by that time. read more

The decor is beautiful, the atmosphere is grown and sexy, the drinks were good, it is very spacious, and there's plenty of parking. There is automatic gratuity, even at the bar. I went on a Friday night to hear the band, and they were great! I sat at the bar and enjoyed several old-fashions, which were smoked and delicious. I also ordered a small pizza. It was okay. I would love to go back to try other dishes. My only complaint was (as I mentioned to the male bartender) that we didn't get the same service as some of the other patrons, which I assume are regulars. It was almost overkill for a gentleman sitting next to me, both the male and female bartenders were very accommodating, but my service was subpar compared. I visited this restaurant for the first time this weekend. I made 2 reservations for 6 people on yelp but when I called to confirm and ask to combine the reservation for 12, I was told that they could not see the Yelp reservation because of some challenges with their reservation system. However, the manager confirmed that he updated the system and I immediately received a confirmation in my email. If there is no parking in the paved area, be prepared to park in the gravel. When we entered the lobby, the smoke met you at the door, it was overpowering and we contemplated leaving. We decided to stay. It got better once we were seated. Overall the food was good. The garden salad, blackened salmon, mashed potatoes and broccoli was really good. The beef sliders, wings and fries were really good. However I have an issue with paying $32, 37 and $45 for an entree and I have to eat my food with plastic cutlery and drink out of a plastic cup. In addition, we waited over an hour for a seafood platter. My entire party was done eating before the entree came and there was no offer of an accommodation or discount for the delay. The lobster was salty. Our waitress were attentive and quick. The DJ was good and my group had fun dancing. I love supporting black businesses. Especially when they are in the neighborhood and I don't have to drive to Perimeter, Buckhead or Downtown Atlanta. Please work on your exhaust system to keep the cigar smoke in the cigar lounge. Please synch your reservation systems so that customers don't have to get calls after the fact and on the day of their reservation requesting a $150 deposit (this was waived after me expressing that i had spoken with a manager and the events manager neither of them mentioned a deposit). Staff should be on one page about reservations. Plastic cutlery and cups should be used for to- go orders or at a customers request and not standard. Fixing these mentioned items will make this a 5 star experience. I will definitely try this restaurant again for brunch. read more

If I could rate this place zero stars, I would. We walked into the lobby wasnt greeted nor asked about a reservation. Which we did have but diddnt seem like it matter and there was no hostess just a guy that was partying which another table. The music was blaring loud. We were walked to our table and there was pretty much nothing to sit at except high-top tables. The person wiped the table off while we were already at the table. You couldn't even hear yourself think or hear the waitress. They brought water out to us. My wife ordered her food while I was still looking at the menu. Her food came out and we had no silverware. We had to ask for silverware before it was finally brought out. When my wife was speaking, the waitress had to ask her several times what she said because the music was so loud. I never got my water refilled or anything. The waitress never returned to take my order at all, so I never ordered my food, and my wife's food had already come out. My wife ordered catfish and chips, and the fish was not catfish. They are selling people catfish that is not catfish. The service was giving "we don't care." As my first time coming here, I will not be returning. We left and went to Azure Smoke and received a lot better service and were happy to spend our money there instead. The Valentine's Day event was horrible and extremely disappointing. We made reservations (pointless)and paid $150 upfront to secure our spot, which was fine. However, when we arrived on time, there was no table available for us. Instead, we were taken outside and seated on the enclosed patio. My husband spoke with someone because this was clearly unacceptable. After about 40 minutes, we were finally moved inside to a table, but by then the evening was already ruined. It took another 30 minutes for our server to come over with water. She didn't take our drink orders and disappeared for another half hour. We eventually flagged her down to place our drink and food orders. The first thing she told us was that they were out of cheesecake--one of only two dessert options advertised for this "elevated" Valentine's event. At that point, it didn't even matter. Our appetizers didn't arrive until 11:30 p.m.--two and a half hours after our reservation time! The first entrée was brought out after midnight, meaning one person in our party of four received her meal the next day. We were told the remaining dishes would be out shortly, but they never came. Our server didn't return until she brought the bill for the drinks. She was horrendous. Eventually, someone from the kitchen came out to ask what we were still waiting on. We told him the order twice and asked for the remaining food to be boxed to go. When it finally came out, the order was incorrect. My brother-in-law spoke with the manager to explain everything, making it clear we weren't asking for a refund but simply wanted him to be aware. He offered to comp the drinks. Personally, I felt we should have received a full refund, but I decided to let it go since this will be my last visit to this establishment. This was the worst dining experience I've ever had. The food was ok, but we were not able to enjoy it on Valentine's Day, in the establishment as we planned due to the incredibly slow, horrific service we received. We were seated around 7:30 pm and it took about 45 minutes for our server to take our orders. The food arrived over an hour and 15 minutes later, and not everyone got their orders at the same time. Some of us had to wait even longer. The food was subpar - my chicken alfredo was saturated in grease, and the braised Brussels sprouts were charred. There was no bread brought out with our meals. We asked to speak to the manager multiple times, but they never showed up. The music was nice, but it was too loud, and we all left with sore throats. To make matters worse, they added a mandatory 20% gratuity to the bill, plus an additional tip.
