Dr. Granberry is an experienced dentist but his staff undermines him. I actually felt assaulted by his overly aggressive dental hygienist who chipped my veneer and left me with jaw spasms for a week! Then his front desk had the audacity to try to charge me $100 for him to even look at my damaged veneer!! Unbelievable. read more

Dr. Granberry is the typical boy-next-door! He is honest, excellent dentist, and have hired an excellent staff. One of the things that I don't like about Doctors is that they give you choices rather than recommendations. I always ask him what he would do if he had the same tooth problem. You can tell that he actually reflect on what he would do and more importantly, explain why! Today, he had to redo a filling and he did it three times. Why? I have old teeth with lots of work done on them. He wanted to make sure that I didn't have to comeback with a tooth problem. He is a perfectionist! He also knows his limitations! I have to get a couple of implants and he sent me to a specialist that he would use for his teeth. In case of an emergency, he will work you in. Recently went in and was told I have a large balance remaining when everything was paid on full 1.5-2 yrs ago. Front staff mentioned that previous office manager May was stealing money from the clinic. They had missing records of my payments and expected me to repay almost 2 years later bc their employee stole from them esp the cash payments that were made had no records. Now the dentist's wife is the new manager and harassing pts to pay or she threatens to send you to collection. I do like the dentist but this is very unprofessional to put the pts in such a situation and expect them to recoup the loss/damages the clinic is facing bc of their embezzling employee. She was extremely rude and said i should have kept my receipts from 2 yrs ago to prove I paid. I am sure there are other pts she is trying to recharge as well. We also had my mom pay cash price over a yr ago but she needed more specific treatment and conveniently they have no record of that either. read more

Dr. Granberry and his staff are some of the nicest people I have ever encountered in the field of dentistry. They never try to guilt trip you about the length of time since your last visit. They simply remind you that it would be better to visit more often and floss more often, etc. They leave it at that. They use sonic instruments to clean your teeth and only rarely resort to the dreaded, torturous "scraper". They are expeditious in their work, but never seem to be in such a hurry as to sacrifice quality. They also seem to enjoy conversing with patients without it appearing to be a nuisance to their work. I called in for a much needed and overdue(on my part) cleaning. They put me on the call-back list and saw me the next day. They also have a great location across from Greenway Plaza. In short, possibly the best dentist I have ever had in my life. The only reason I can't state that for certain is that I haven't had any major work done there. If I ever need it, however, I feel quite certain the quality of that work will match the standard they have set in my first two visits. read more

i went to get X-rays done. I called and was told they would charge me 144.00 dollars. I got to my appointment everything seemed nice. I did paperwork. Then they took my x-rays, and talked to me about my teeth. The problem all started when i was suppose to talk to the manger. Who was the lady at the front desk who also gave you your paper work. She showed me how much the dental work was going to cost. she was a very pushy person. Then she said to was going to be 250.00 for today visit. I told her i was told it would be 144.00 on the phone. I was mad by this point, because she was the one who told me it would going to be 144.00. Then they try to charge more money. I will never go there again. read more

Dr. Granberry is down-to-earth and connects with his patients. I left a good dentist in West U because I felt like a commodity. I didn't know their names, they didn't know mine, and the more I started going there, the more treatments they were suggesting. When my former dentist's office called me to schedule an appointment, I politely told them that I switched dentists, and the receptionist quickly brushed me off. She didn't ask for feedback, even though my husband is still a patient there (and won't be much longer after I told him what happened). Cleaning was gentle. I also had a filling that I've been putting off for a year or so. I had a good experience. Location is uber convenient, too. Switch to Dr. Granberry. You won't regret it. read more

My experience was just okay. The staff was incredibly nice, and the facilities very clean and presentable. However... 1) The cleaning took an hour and a half. That's a surefire way to get rid of my business. Who has time for that? 2) I was recommended to see a specialist. I spent loads of money to go see the specialist who told me that the recommendation was insane and that I wasted time and money. read more

I've been coming here for the past 4 years and won't go anywhere else! I used to work in the area which is why I chose Granberry Dental initially. My work has moved to another area of town but I'll still make the drive to come back twice a year for my cleanings! I work business hours so I always prefer their afternoon appointments and the last opening goes as late as 5:15pm or so which is very convenient for me! The staff is always so sweet and funny. I only had a brief experience with Granberry Dental, but I wish it could have been more. I am new to Houston and searching for a dentist. When I called this office, I was greeted so pleasantly by Elizabeth. My insurance is new to me as well, so I didn't know the answers to all of her questions as she tried to confirm that I was in network. Elizabeth was so kind and helpful as we worked through my coverage. After several minutes on the phone, I scheduled an appointment. She must have kept looking into my coverage, because it turns out that I am unfortunately not in network with their office. She called me right back to inform me. I can't speak to the overall quality of service offered here, but if it is anything like the service Elizabeth offered, this is a great dental office! read more

I really enjoyed my visit with Dr. Granberry. I recently had to look for a new dentist as my previous dentist stopped accepting my insurance. Bummer! I really liked that guy; we talked about fishing, and my super awesome pulp stones. However, it was time to move on, and Dr. Granberry was equally as friendly and awesome. We talked about golf, third world countries, his family, and....my pulp stones. He's very laid back and doesn't make you feel bad for dropping the ball with your dental health. I actually might start flossing since he was so cool about it. We'll see. Anyways, my appointment was for 4:30, and I was out by 5:15 with a cleaning and full set up x-rays. Fantastic! Ok. I am a huge anti-dentite. I am terrified of the dentist and have been ever since childhood, at least I was until I met Dr. Granberry. I have not been to the dentist in 8 years. Fortunately, the only thing I had wrong with my teeth was a few cavities. One was on a wisdom tooth that I hated anyway. I had X-Rays done, a cleaning, and a wisdom tooth pulled the first day I came in. I don't have dental insurance and the price for all of these things was very reasonable. He does not nickel and dime you. He and his staff are so so nice. He didn't make me feel bad for not going to the dentist in years, he was very careful about not hurting me when he was dealing with my wisdom tooth, took things very slowly, did not rush me, listened to me, answered all of my questions. BELEIVE ME. I'm terrified of dentists but Dr. Granberry is amazing! If all of my dentists had been like him when I was growing up, maybe I wouldn't have had a dentist-phobia, and maybe I wouldn't have waited 8 years between visits. I'm sorry I did! I'm so glad his practice is minutes away from where I live. I don't ever want to use anyone else. edited to add: So I went back to get a cavity filled and when he was done I asked him if something could be done about my pointy vampire teeth that I was self consious about. You know how dentists send you a postcard when you are due for a cleaning? Dr G's postcards are the only ones I ever actually took action on. I went. Today, on the way home from a filling, I started having a panic attack thinking about Dr. G ever retiring! I started going to him around 2006, left Houston, came back, and STUPIDLY found a dentist closer to my house. They were not good and left me scared of receding gum lines, horrible cavities, etc. I told myself enough was enough and went back to Dr. G. I was instantly greeted with so much warmth and kindness with he and his staff, and of course, he found only one SMALL cavity and the rest the other dentist had told me was basically a ploy to have me pay. Dr. Granberry is a down-to-earth dentist with practical advice for maintaining your oral health. I go for routine cleanings and checkups as he recommends which are quick and efficient, and when I have had any issue (a filling from childhood that came loose), his office was handled that process efficiently, as well. Incompetent staff. If you are looking for someone to waste your time by all means come here. The only reason I continued at this office is because of the proximity to my home and Granberry is a good dentist. I've come here several times, and decided to overlook the staff neglecting to follow up on routine things. Today however, was the last straw. I came here for a "scheduled" appointment. Who's date and time was actually picked by a staff member bc it wa the only "available" date in December. I get to the appointment, only to find I'm nowhere on the schedule. Not only did I take off work for this, but it is also frustrating to not have any of the staff take responsibility for their own mistake. Acknowledgement of the mistake would have appeased me, but of course it's a patient issue?? Mind you, I'm a physician, I write everything down and have to be very organized because of my busy schedule. So I am most certainly not mistaken that I had the correct date and time. In any regard, definitely never coming back. Taking my money elsewhere. Will also be instructing the several people I've referred to this office, to take their business to a more competent practice. read more

When I first moved to Houston 6 years ago I went to several quacks with fancy offices who tried to get me to do all sorts of bizarre things to my teeth (e.g., gum removal so my teeth would show more). Dr. Granberry and his staff are an outstanding team. They call you in pretty close to your appointment time. The cleaning is thorough but gentle and not rushed-feeling at all. Dr. Granberry is calm and unhurried, which helps one relax, and answers questions in a very direct manner.
