George Street Photo & Video - George St made us feel so special the day of our wedding! I am so grateful for the amazing job George St did for our wedding photos & video!

George Street Photo & Video

Theater District, Midtown West

We had horrendous customer service from George Street Photography. To list all of the headaches we…read morehad to deal with see below. In short, save yourself the headache and directly contract with your photographer and videographer yourself. Since George Street is a middle man, it makes communication and customer service extremely inefficient and difficult. I cannot in good faith recommend this vendor to any bride. 1) Our wedding was across 2 days and they assigned us different photographers and videographers for both. They did not communicate who they had assigned until 5 days before the wedding. Given our wedding was a traditional South Asian event, we wanted to ensure we had ample time to connect with our photographer leading up to the event and only getting their contact info 5 days before the wedding caused a mad rush. 2) We were consistently getting automated emails that our wedding plan was incomplete, despite having confirmed its completion multiple times with a coordinator, which caused a ton of confusion and stress leading up to the wedding day. 3) We weren't able to get anyone on the phone to address many of our concerns and they often took 48 hours to respond to emails (even 14 days leading up to the wedding), which created a lot of anxiety as they had not confirmed that photographers and videographers were available for the times requested. 4) While we loved our experience with Thomas (our photographer for the first day of events), the photographer Ruben was HORRIBLE. He had an unpleasant disposition throughout the entire wedding day (seemingly annoyed to be present and take requested photos of friends and family). Additionally out of the 8 hours we booked him, he was idle and not taking photos for about 2 - 3 of those hours. He did not capture any details of the reception hall, the food, the bride and groom meeting and greeting with the guests. His direction of posing through the formal portraits also made for extremely awkward photos and in fact used inappropriate household items (magazines that we had lying around that had nothing to do with the wedding and were actually covering a completely different culture and religion) to create getting ready detail photos with, making them completely unusable and unsharable. 5) We have reached out to George Street multiple times to get the above issues rectified and have not been met with timely responses or any solutions.

Two years ago I married the love of my life. We're humble folks living our American dream. We paid…read morefor our entire wedding ourself and we were hoping George street was a reasonable economic way to capture the best day of our lives. Please don't use this service, it's a scam. They contract with freelance unvetted talent with poor results and then set up endless meetings to make things right without ever making it right. We paid $5,000 for two photographers and a videographer and free album. The photographers while very nice while very amateur. The photographer was distracting and set his equipment up in very odd ways. The photos came back terrible; the lighting and angles were absurd. Out of 3000 pictures maybe 100 were salvageable. But I love those pictures and can at least hold them dear. The video which was my husband's dream was so bad we're embarrassed to show anyone. It's so bad I cringe every time I think of it. The free album - a scam. I tried to order it three times now, the whole process. Selecting photos, design and approving design and then ordering to receive NOTHING. They say 8-12 weeks, they mean never. ZF-4974-06920-1 This is the order number. I stayed up all night - it was going to be a surprise Christmas present for my husband - it's been four months George street why are lying??? The only thing that we asked was for our money back for the video. I'll take the amateur photos, I'll accept the album is a scam. But please at least take responsibility for the video. It's so bad I thought about putting it on TikTok to warn others. Please just give us back our money. We talked to Nora and Ashley and everyone else. We don't want to talk anymore. We want our money back for the service that you know was so bad it's embarrassing. Jessica M

Jolie was able to accommodate me right away and I was so pleasantly surprised I was able to find parking right in front of her studio. I found Jolie to be very smart, personable and extremely passionate about her work. Before getting to the actual session, we chatted for a bit: she got to know me and vice versa. She inquired what I did for a living, the purpose of the headshots and the impression I wanted to make with them. We then combed over the outfits I brought with me, analyzing the colors and the message the looks would send. The actual photo session was very relaxed. Her directions spoke to me and I sensed she wanted the real me to come out. The whole process was very natural. Jolie knows her craft and has a strong intuitive approach to her work. She had a great turnaround time on the retouching services. The photos were beautiful, extremely natural and of very high caliber. The photos say, "This woman is an expert in her field, confident, thoughtful and interested in what you have to say." I was able to walk away with the perfect headshots for my company website, LinkedIn, and Twitter... and a wonderful experience. I highly recommend Jolie's services!

TUE 12/10/19 The head building security at 25 Madison Ave threatened to have me arrested for…read morewaiting for an album signing event adjacent to the building. I was the only one at the time. It reeked of racism. I was a black male waiting for a Moulin Rouge Broadway cast event. Not long after, the head of Sony security came down personally to ATTEMPT to intimidate me. He asked the white fans who soon joined behind me, what they were there for, and then he asked me. After already telling the head building security guy, the head Sony security guy ALREADY knew, as I'm sure they communicated, hence his need to leave his office to further investigate. When I told him, "They already told you", He became visibly irate and disgusted because I didn't give him an exact answer. I told him it was common sense, if we're all in the same line. He asked me once I get my album am I leaving and I told him yes. Why would I hang around after making a purchase? It was a disgusting experience made worst by the fact that he refused to give his name and none of his subordinates would give his name either. It's disappointing that #waitingwhileblack would illicit such a bias and discriminatory response from security personnel. Sony Square management and their building higher-ups would do well to equip their support staff with bias and racial sensitivity training. Not all African-American patrons are on their premises for Hip-hop / rap events and ones who aren't shouldn't be deemed suspicious or a threat when they don't fit into what traditional fans look like.
