I only recently started taking classes here, but I've loved it so far!
Studio: Clean, bright, and airy! The waiting area is HUGE. They have multiple different instructors and styles including heels, hip hop, contemporary, house, and ballet. I met the owner/creative director, who is super nice and friendly! If you're unsure what to take, I would recommend looking up the specific instructor on social media ahead of time to see their videos or check out the Gramercy Dance Studio's Instagram page (@gramercydancestudios)!
I have taken a couple of heels classes with Kiersten Yusi on Sunday nights, and she is AMAZING. Super talented, and her choreo can be technical/challenging but so much fun! This is labeled as intermediate, but I would say that there is a range of different levels for people who take the class. It's always inspiring to watch dancers of exceptional caliber in order to improve your own performance. She posts the song on her Instagram ahead of time, and also offers free optional professional filming at the end of the class, which for $23 for 1.5 hour class is a total steal! Depending on the size of the class, you might film a solo or up to three people in a group. You can then message her for the video link when she posts on her social media. It's a great way to help get comfortable in front of the camera but be in a safe and supportive environment.
Overall: Highly recommend, and I hope to try out some other classes there in the future! read more
