Our water heater pilot went out, a few days before Christmas. In my quest to fix the problem John provided me with a couple different parts to try, one new and one from a salvaged water heater, even though they didn't have the exact parts I was looking for. Fortunately after some trial & error, I eventually ended up fixing the problem. When I came back to return one of the unused parts, and to pay for the part I had cannibalized he declined to charge me anything. I know where my first stop will be next time I have a plumbing problem to fix.

Chances are they may be familiar with the odd and irregularly found item you are looking for. This Hirsh Pipe Supply location is unique, which was, in a sort of way formerly KD Sales Wholesale Plumbing Supplies - and located in a little blue painted house not more than a half mile west on Redlands Ave. Hirsh Pipe Supply came out to Loma Linda and basically bought out KD Sales. The little blue house still stands but is no longer blue and appears to be a residential home now. Anyways, years of plumbing experience is found here through the workers. Some of them are former workers from KD Sales. I would know because I used to work at KD Sales and in the presence of KD himself, Mr. Kieth Davis. The atmosphere at the now Hirsh Pipe Supply is very much similar to how things operated (between the sales clerk and customer) as it did within the little blue house and even back then, KD Sales was known for the same thing. The excellent customer service, expertise, and knowledge, availability of parts, supplies, and tools - including the ability to source all kinds of plumbing parts. The service here is always friendly, professional, and helpful. Don't be afraid to ask for a little advice on a project if you happen to need it. The feedback may be just what you need. Ernie is quite experienced as he has been in the Plumbing industry for years. I go here for tools and parts as my first place to go for a big project. A friend recommended Patton's Steel in Irwindale. I inquired via email, and a person named Cody Robinson got right back to me the next day. He gave me a quote for a steel 12-ft piece of 11-gauge square tubing 1.5 in x 1.5 in x12 ft. I had looked at other places, but the prices were crazy, and to have it delivered was, in some cases hundreds, of dollars. I had a few more questions, and Cody answered them promptly. He made me feel very comfortable working with their company. He stated that the product would be on will call for me at the Ontario location which was great because it was on my way home from Fontana. I let him know that I had Thursday off so I would pick it up then, and he said no problem just go to the front desk. I did just that and within about 10 minutes I had a 12-ft square tubing made of steel at my disposal. I really didn't need 12 ft, so I asked them if they could cut it to 10 and I didn't need the scrap. The person with whom I delt, said that was not a problem he took it and cut it to a 10 ft length--perfect. The staff knew their product well and it was very nice to deal with people that knew exactly where product is and how to get it to the customers in a timely manner. Now the Ontario location is a retail location, so I thought it might be more expensive, but I was wrong. Out the door the price was $54.38. I brought $54.40 thinking they wouldn't have pennies, but much to my surprise they did have change and I got two pennies back, I guess two cents for my thoughts hahaha.. This location, has all kinds of tubing, posts, solid and hollow, whether they be square cornered, round, long or short. I was amazed at the selection that they had. If you have need to make a brace for a tree or need to make a cage or tubing for some reason, this is the place to go.

Here is my analysis of this place: Location This place is in what looks like an industrial/farming community. It is located directly across a liquor store. Parking is located on the side street (be prepared to park on gravel). If you plan on buying a large item you can park inside. Cement The cement stuff varies in price but it's all very beautiful and well made. Buying something here is less than buying something at the Home Depot. Customer Service 1/5 The customer service here needs a lot of improvement. The employees here are beyond rude and are not helpful. It's to the point where this place could be selling a lot more but their employees scare off customers with their lack of wanting to work/rudeness. This really is a great place, my recommendation is to hire people that are friendly and polite to work in front. That way customers look forward to coming here, it shouldn't feel like you will be reprimanded for asking questions.
