AMAZING. Great staff, not phoney. Stylish interior w nice size patio. Flight was a nice intro, definitely returning. Plus, a great and personable dog named Maude.

Looking for a local brewery and my wife and I found Grain & Grit. It's a nice small spot to hang out with a small group of friends. The beer was quite nice, being that is the summer currently, most of the drinks were light and had a hint of fruit notes in the ones we tested. Had a flight of 3 beers of our choice. I'm more of a Wheat and Porter fan, but these beers were great for the summer heat. Place can get a bit loud, but not so much that you can't have a nice conversation. I would recommend the Hop Charmer.

Beautiful day to sit on the patio. Reservations recommended. Great super friendly service and delicious beer. You can bring in your own food. Dogs are welcome. Really enjoyed our visit. Worth a visit

Excellent microbrewery! Also have options for DD, we ordered kombucha, dry-hopped Pils, pinky swear IPA, dog day sour APA, invisible friend IPA. I like the invisible friend IPA the most

If you like lazy days and great beer, you should try out this place. Located in Hamilton near the MacMaster, you have to look for it to find it. Lots of choices on tap and it's perfect to try flights. The patio is nice and because it's on a suide street, there is very little noise. Great for a day off or an after dinner drink. They are also dog friendly so bring you fur babies!

Grain and Grit is a great local venue for some hometown brews! I love coming here in the summer on a lazy weekday and doing some work on the patio with a beer and some chips. It's actually such a nice spot in the neighbourhood to hang out with friends and play some board games! They have games to borrow for free! They also hold trivia nights! Such a cute neighbourhood place.

Review Highlights - Grain & Grit Beer Co.

Even though Mic Drop's description was fruity, I didn't taste any of the notes, so I preferred the 2 other cans that I brought home.

Hubby and I were looking for something fun to do on a Saturday night and we settled on Collective Arts Brewing in Hamilton. It was our first time there and it's definitely a place worth revisiting. The front part is the tap room for beer sales, and if you drive to the back, you'll get to the outdoor beer garden (with lots of shade) and access to another huge indoor beer hall. We were famished and ordered from Mel's Deli - the sandwiches were hearty and flavourful. We ordered the saucy and spicy meatball hoagie and the not so hot cheesesteak, each were $19 and came with pickles and some kettle cooked chips. The sandwiches were hot, bun was super fresh and were loaded with various toppings and cheese. To pair with the sandwiches, you can order beer on top, canned beer or alcoholic slushies. I opted for a beer flight, 4 samplers of any of the beers they had on top. There are so many options that anyone can for sure find something that they'll like. And to top off the fun outing, line dancing started at 8pm that Saturday and everyone jumped in! A side note for those with kids and dogs, they are all welcome on site! I want to say that every other table had kids. If you're looking for a fun night out, whether it's date night, girls night out or even a family outing, you have to come here!

Thankfully, no live music on this particular Friday and it was a quiet time. I sat off to the side, served my beer (their wonderful East Hamilton Lager) and spent some time working out where I was going to park the RV tonight. Clifford has a big open space, lots of tables inside and out, several beers on tap and even a couple pinball machines. Well worth a visit. [Review 1469 of 2024 - 146 in Ontario - 22492 overall]

(Apparently, the beer/wine industry has been hit hard during the shutdowns, so it's difficult to keep afloat.) In an unassuming industrial area - aren't they all? - the interior is actually quite BIG and they even had pinball machines off to one side. It wasn't crowded at all on a Saturday afternoon, so there's quite a bit of room to keep your distance while enjoying some drinks indoors! (There's no outdoor seating - at least not when I visited.) I had a flight of lagers, IPA, & a Porter and although I usually drift towards the IPAs, their lagers were great too - quite refreshing and light! Bartender was friendly. Deducting a star because they didn't have 2 brews on tap for some reason that I forgot. So I wasn't able to try those, no biggie, picked them up in can form!

They left so much of the character from the church and it looked great!! It was all done so well! Arched windows and doors, church pews against one wall for seating at the smaller tables. While driving through all the vineyards and countryside, we came across an old church now converted to a brewery. This place hd so much character, so much history, we loved it from the moment we walked in, and were quickly greeted by friendly staff welcoming us into the brewery. They had a good variety of beer styles to choose from, unfortunately time was limited, so we could only stay for 1. I got their "20 Hazy Years iPad, oddly named since they're just now celebrating 13 years in business...but still delicious. I'd absolutely return to this spot given the chance. If I'm ever in the area again I will definitely revisit this brewery. Staff was friendly, beer was tasty, and the atmosphere was amazing!

The Naughty Neighbour Pale Ale and Wicked Awesome IPA are absolute classics, and the Headstock is a flavourful West Coast IPA. The Raspberry Jam Stand is juicy, thick, and jammy--without that off-putting aftertaste some sours have (my wife and I are picky with sours, but this one is fantastic!). Angelo saw my wife looking at the beer selections trying to find something I would like. He stepped in and asked several questions and curated a selection of Nickel Brook beers for me. Huge kudos to Angelo for some really amazing customer service. He clearly stepped out of what I assume a territory rep would normally be asked to do in patiently walking a customer who doesn't know much about beer through selections and making recommendations. While I would assume that sales are his primary responsibility, it was really refreshing to see a sales rep with this level of customer service for a single customer. All brand ambassadors in area reps should strive for his level of service and knowledge. To say that the beers were all awesome as an understatement. I'm a big fan of lots of the Ontario craft beers especially Collective Arts, but I have a new favorite and that's absolutely Nickel Brook. Angelo, if you get to read this, thank you so much! If anyone at Nickel Brook gets to read this Angelo is awesome!

Service was fine, but there were a few flies and wasps flying around that really dampened our enjoyment of lunch. Fish and chips were ok - the fries were quite good while hot. The fish wasn't as good as The Squire on Locke. Schnitzel was good for a brewery - two huge pieces of pounded pork. The panko breading was interesting. The warm German potato salad served with it was fantastic and I liked that the entree came with a few asparagus spears. The biggest disappointment was probably the margherita pizza. Given the whole menu section dedicated to pizza, I expected better. The dough was fine - springy, though I'd personally prefer a bit more overall crisp. However, the red sauce was terrible. It's taste and texture made it seem as if the dough had been baked first, then toppings and spoonfuls of canned, unseasoned tomato sauce was spread on top right before being served. It was just weird. Finally, there's a kids menu, but there's no cheeseburger option, just a plain burger. Patio looks nice though, and there's a big parking lot.
