They put new porcelain tile flooring in my entrance foyer, laundry room, family room, kitchen, and painted nearly every room. They hung the TV above the fireplace (putting piping in the wall so cords could be run, changed and hidden), and rebuilt the mantel. They switched my living room and dining room. Then they rebuilt the roof of my gazebo. Jeff and Alex (the owners) promised to have all the work done in 30 days. They personally supervised every day. They did a fantastic job and finished EARLY! Finishing early was even more amazing as the first day the county came in and began totally ripping up our street which took a few days. The trucks had to park up the street. Then they fought the heavy rain that just wouldn't stop for days. The people that worked with them were great. Everyone was very respectful and worked well together. We were kept informed every day as to who would be in our home and what would be done. Everyone showed up as scheduled every time. Just like the TV shows, unexpected issues occurred but Jeff and Alex were immediately able to assess the situation and find creative solutions. Our only disappointment was that my husband and I had decided to have 30 date nights while the work was being done since we would not have a kitchen. We were creating a scrapbook of where we ate each night. However, since the crews finished in less then 30 days, our date nights didn't last as long as we had planned. We LOVE how great everything looks. They did a great job rearranging the kitchen making it more practical. Neighbors who have had people working on their homes for months and months asked, "Why did the construction people stop working?" I smile and say. "Because they finished!"

They told us our items were delayed or lost but after a thorough investigation, we found they never ordered anything at all. Their subcontractors' are terrible--their plumber ruined a bathroom installation to where we had to hire a vendor to rip out all of his work and start over. They also had people installing stairs who had NO idea how to do so and we ended up having to hire a new vendor when their "supposed" export messed up our steps for the third time. It took filing a legal claim to get my back. If you hire these people, get receipts for everything. They tell you they will charge you discounted rate but we caught them upcharging for our shower door. Thankfully, I have every email and every text from these people to show as valid proof of their horrible service.

We used Bradley for a kitchen update (countertops, backsplash, under cabinet lighting and an island…read moreextension) which should have taken a few weeks but due to VERY poor project management, the work stretched over 3 months -- and many things that should have been considered in the estimate were not and thus billed as "add-ons" in the final invoice. The final bill was also about 40% higher than the original estimate. They started in mid-September and barely had the work done by Thanksgiving eve. Unfortunately, the PM never took responsibility for delays and tried to blame us, our designer and then the counter fabricator (who it turned out is a relative...hmm.) I had to play project manager and provide status reports to them despite the contract requiring them to provide weekly status - and repeatedly had to ask for estimates for the "add-ons" - and even then I couldn't get a complete answer. Be SURE TO LOOK CLOSELY at your estimate or do a fixed contract. Unfortunately, the owner backed up his project manager who at times was even caught lying to him about communication and timelines. Everyone from our designer to cabinet painter found them difficult to work with. If the referral hadn't come through a mutual family friend, I would have fired them early on when they didn't show up for weeks in October due to another project and an "unexpected vacation" by the project manager. When the work was done I had to have them come back twice because the electrical outlets didn't work and the dishwasher was not reinstalled properly.

Terry is friendly and knowledgeable and although my house is over a 100 years old, he has always known how to perform a project I've given him. He has replaced an old door, installed storm doors, resealed our porch roof, installed a new rubber roof, fixed multiple leaks in the roof, enclosed our back porch into a mudroom (including installing new vinyl windows), installed a fence in the yard, some minor landscaping, replaced cracked plaster ceilings with all new drywall ceilings in 3 rooms, a lot of painting work, and fixed 2 electrical outlets by running new wire. I might be missing some things, but he's practically given our house an overhaul. I've even been able to call Terry and asked for advice for some things around the house I could do myself. I honestly can't say how his rates compare with other handymen, because after the first couple jobs, I felt comfortable enough to go to Terry for any work in the house.

We initially selected Blackstone because their price was competitive and because I liked the idea of being able to select everything in one place. I hate making decisions and Joseph, our Design Consultant, was very helpful to us when making decisions and putting everything together. Our Project Manager, Luis, made sure everything ran smoothly. There was minimal disruption and he checked in frequently to be sure the work was flawless. When the shower tiles were installed, he noticed a small chip and had the tile replaced. I didn't even notice the chip and this was no small feat because those tiles were big and heavy. The work team showed up everyday on time and cleaned everything outside the bathroom when they left. The price of everything was very transparent. They use a website called Buildtrend that keeps track of everything that has been ordered, and the exact price of the finished project. I smile every time I walk into our new bathroom. I can enthusiastically recommend Blackston Kitchen and Bath

This company does not stand behind its work. We had a new kitchen installed 5 years ago. We thought…read moreeverything went well, but two things have now happened. Last year, we discovered that they made a small error in wiring our kitchen--they mistakenly didn't wire the refrigerator outlet to our whole-house generator. I called them and they ghosted me. We ultimately paid an electrician $180 to fix their error--a repair that took him only about 10 minutes. That wasn't so bad, so I dropped the issue and decided we'd just never hire them again. This year, however, something bigger happened. They had improperly installed a pot filler over our cooktop, using the cheapest possible screw anchors for a heavy faucet. We only recently started to use the filler, and the weight was too much. The filler blew off the wall, flooding the entire kitchen and leaking below into our basement. After insurance, we are still at least $9,000 out of pocket, and probably more since we'll be looking at retiling the wall no matter what we do. I know from last year's experience that there's no point to even calling them again since they won't return my call. I recommend that you stay away from this company.

She contacted several companies, and ultimately went with these guys because she felt they were up front and the cost was reasonable. IIRC, she dealt with a gentleman by the name of Aiden who stopped by to formulate the estimate, and then Justin who was our installer. Long story long: they promised delivery of parts in about 4 weeks, and install in about 7 hours which was fine with us. The parts got here in about a week, they offered to get moving two days later, and the install was done in 5 hours. Next, I'm pretty well versed on construction (I've done plenty of large scale renovation projects myself at times, with my own hands... so... I know good and bad work). Midway after the install started, the installer did mentioned he has an issue with cable placement. He politely said I probably wouldn't notice it, but he wanted to let me know anyway and his proposed work-around. Once he briefed me, I did suggest an alternative correction method that I would prefer. He said "no problem... I'll make it work". And he did. That pretty much sums up dealing with them. Flexible, good work, efficient, and definitely courteous. On the bad side... I can't recognize our foyer anymore... I thought I walked into our neighbors house when I first saw the new railing... LOL It does look great now tho.
