We went to Lucky 13 a couple years ago and really enjoyed the experience so we knew this was the perfect place to go. As soon as we walked in, it was pretty packed. I planned on getting a piercing but when my daughter and sister consulted about a tattoo, they were about 5-6 people ahead of them but they put their name on the list in hopes it wouldn't be too long of a wait. The piercing area was a little busy but the wait wasn't long at all. The majority of their piercings are $20 so I decided on the Forward Helix and my Third Ear Lobe piercing. My piercer was great and made sure I liked the placement before piercing my ears. While we waited, I also bought new jewelry for my Naval, Tragus and Rook piercings, which they changed out for me. With jewelry being only $10, I felt like a kid in a candy store lol. Unfortunately after about an hour, my daughter and sister didn't move up in the wait list so my sister decided to get a Tragus and Second Ear Lobe piercing and we decided to leave. The service at Lucky 13 is great and with it being a pretty popular spot, expect long waits for tattoos! They open at Noon on Saturdays so definitely be there as soon as they open to avoid long waits. I absolutely love the pricing of the piercing. For $90, I got 3 piercings and 3 pieces of jewelry. Definitely check them out! Update: My Forward Helix jewelry did fall out after about a week so make sure the jewelry is very secure before leaving.

Everyone was super friendly, very welcoming despite her asking about getting a sleeve as a walk in, and in the end we ended up with way more jeweler than I expected her to buy. She got some jewelry changed out, and I came away with a new piercing. Overall, we definitely had fun and got some really cute jewelry

If you're looking to get pierced, definitely make an appointment with Nycole! The whole experience…read morewith her was outstanding, from consultation about the best piercing for my anatomy, jewelry selection, and then the piercings themselves. She recommended a double nostril when I was torn between a nostril and a septum...I didn't even know it was an option and it was the perfect solution for me--I'm so happy with it! We did three piercings at once, and all went so smoothly...truly did not feel them at all. She put me at ease during, and her aftercare instructions were great and they all healed beautifully. Can't recommend her enough (and have more planned soon so will also be scheduling with her!!). Thanks so much, Nycole!

My first tattoo, done elsewhere, genuinely had me so scared and anxious for my appointment. However, I'm so grateful that my tattoo experience at Misfit was so much different! Right from the jump, Leilani was incredibly considerate and sweet. Her hand was so steady and light, I rarely felt discomfort during the actually tattooing. To make it even better, the tattoo looked exactly how I imagined it would! :) I'm already saving up so I can come back and get even more amazing work done! The rest of the staff I also met were some of the most knowledgeable and kindest people ever. 10/10!

I have two pieces done over several sessions with Adam, and one by their newest team member, Jason Brown, and I am extremely happy with them. The line work is crisp and precise, the shading is smooth, and the composition fits my body. I trust them to take my basic idea and run with it in the way they think will give me the best result. Everyone is extremely professional, friendly, and down to earth, but most importantly they are passionate about and skilled at their craft. The artists specialize in traditional style tattoos, but they welcome collaboration on any of your ideas. The shop itself is very clean, well run, and has a fascinating array of artwork that is a welcome distraction during sessions. The pricing is very fair for such high quality work. They take both cash and credit cards, although the POS system has a 3% fee on cards. Don't forget to tip. The shop is in historic Jackson Ward, in between Saison Market and the Maggie Walker Memorial Plaza. There is very limited parking on N Adams Street, but it's easy to find a free spot in the surrounding area. They are open noon to 8pm every day except Monday, and while appointments are of course available, walk ins are always welcome.

I decided to knock on the door one day just to ask about how I could schedule an appointment for a very small, simple tattoo touchup, and I had an appointment the next day. They are very COVID safe, and the inside of the shop is extremely clean with organized service and high-quality technology. Even with exceptional service and talent, the value is fantastic. Prices are affordable and competitive, when comparing them to other tattoo shops in the Richmond area, and the shop minimum sits at $80. The artists are very experienced, talented, and caring. Never impatient, they made me feel as comfortable and welcome as possible. John Setzer was my artist, and he was wonderful!
