Love Graeter's! There's several ice cream options in Dublin, but when I want black raspberry chip - there is only one place to go and that is Graeter's! All of their ice cream is delicious though and appreciate that they happily offer samples. I tried a sample of their Skyline Oyster crackers - unique! Took me a little to the spices in the fall and the oyster crackers gave it some texture (I thought in a good way!). Black Raspberry Chip is so good! The chips this time around felt much larger (nickel size) than I've had in the past (I prefer smaller ones), Great place with seating inside and out! Graeters is amazing!!!! It's a cute little local ice cream shop and always happens to be very busy, I assume it's popular with the locals. My first couple times going there, I had to disclose that I have a peanut allergy because I got a cone (I've worker at Culvers, I'm familiar with how they store/use all the ice cream scoopers in the same water and for multiple different flavors), and I felt that one of the workers (a girl, I didn't get her name) was annoyed about it. I get it, having an allergy is embarrassing enough and I know there are annoying protocols, especially when I feel not all those are necessary to follow for my SPECIFIC allergy, but the workers have to follow it all, and for that I'm sorry!! Eventually I just started getting their Island Blast smoothie because there would be no space for cross contamination there with the shake machine or ingredients, and it was so, sooo good! It obviously wasn't real fruit that they included, you can tell it was artificial flavoring or powder/juice, but nonetheless it was still delicious!! I live very close and visit here a lot, but today I wanted to try the "Cheesecrown" limited edition ice cream, and it is so good. I asked for it to be made into a drinkable shake, and she did a great job, perfect flavor and drinkable. You can either eat inside or go outside, and there are about 4 benches to sit out, especially if it's a nice day. The customer service is incredible every time I visit. It's getting to the point where I've reviewed so many Graeters' on Yelp that I need to make it a personal goal to review all of them! All in good time, I guess! Well if you can't tell from my Profile Pic, I am obsessed with Graeter's. I'm such a mega ice cream fan and you can find me at multiple scoop shops within a given week, especially in summer! I always love that Graeter's hasn't strayed from their french pot process making only 2.5 gallons at a time. They've been in business 150 years, so that in and of itself means RESPECT! I remember having Graeter's the first time as a kid and I was blown away by how good it is. The best part (as most fans would agree) are the mega chocolate chunks in any of their chip flavors. My sister and I used to compete for who had the biggest chunk left in their ice cream! My personal favorites are Double Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter Chip, Black Raspberry Chip, Strawberry and Buckeye Blitz. I also love the new 150th Anniversary Birthday Cake! This Graeter's location is in a business area of Dublin. Lots of great seating outside-- I was able to enjoy my ice cream and overlook a small pond. The girls working inside were super nice and friendly! I saw so many other families enjoying their ice cream on a Sunday afternoon-- Graeter's is all about community and I love that! There was a day when I thought my opportunity to have really good ice cream was a past event. I have had Halo and other ones that are low glucose related. I was vacationing in Columbus and entered a Graeter's asking if they had any low glucose ice cream. They explained that they use Monk Fruit as a sweetener and gave me a sample; I about fainted. Let me be clear, their Mint Chocolate Chip is just amazing and the Madagascar Vanilla Bean is also excellent. They have all of your other ice creams too and their quality is excellent. You can't beat an ice cream cone in the summer time (or any time, really). This Graeter's location is great because they have a ton of parking spaces and lots of tables inside to enjoy your ice cream. If the weather is nice, there are benches to sit outside as well. To be honest, there are other ice cream shops in town that I like way more than Graeter's, but if you're looking for friendly service and a variety of flavors, this is a good place for ice cream. There have been tons of families/kids during every visit at this location, so be prepared to wait on kids who can't decide what ice cream they want to order. First time at this place. The location is near my hotel in Dublin, Ohio and heard from people I work with that this ice cream parlor is popular, even with OSU because they have favorite named sundae. They have 4 different styles of creamery items...classic ice cream, gelato, fruit sorbet, featured or seasonal flavors (the one I tried was key lime pie ice cream, that tasted like whole crushed pie as an ice cream), & their signature chocolate chip flavors. The chocolate chips are no joke, more like chocolate chip chunks, almost like the ones you use for baking. I ordered the 1870 Tower sundae. Although it came in a banana split tray, it was due me ordering an additional scoop. Ok, details...1870 Tower normally comes with black raspberry chocolate chip ice cream, a mini bundt cake, heated, & topped with whipped cream, hot fudge, walnuts & a cherry, and like a tower shape. I also added another scoop called dark chocolate gelato. What I didn't know is each of their gelato flavors have flavored truffles that matched their gelato. The one I got was dark chocolate gelato with dark chocolate truffles. Wholly crap, it tasted awesome. I was thinking of trying more flavors but might wait till tomorrow. Even as I write this review, people are streaming in this location. It's already 9:50p & still people steady flow of customers (closes at 11pm). Other than their standard ice cream scoops, they have ice cream to go in quarts, pints, small 5 oz containers, & in ice cream cakes (sizes varies). They have classic sundaes, signature sundaes, shakes & malts, smoothies, and something called double dip sodas. It has sparkling water, 2 scoops of their vanilla bean ice cream, and your choice of fountain syrups. Ambiance is good. Easy on the eyes. I think this location is in the suburbs. I wasn't as crazy about it as I thought I'd be. I had the brownie sundae. Kind of small brownie, especially for the price. The ice cream was ok. My husband said the cotton candy ice cream was one of the best he's had. We've had ice cream at many places and even places that claim to the city favorite. My favorite so far is a dairy farm in Connecticut so it's not like we don't have a basis for comparison. I will have to try a shake or smoothie next time because I wasn't impressed with the sundae. The service was really good though. Two people behind the counter, both super friendly and gave suggestions. They offered samples, explained the menu, and even made a cute little face with candy eyes in the kids bowls. For all the hype it gets, I was actually pretty disappointed. I've been to quite a few ice cream shops in my time and this one definitely wasn't the best or the worst. I'd say that it probably lies a little above some really high-quality store-bought ice cream. Maybe I got the wrong flavor (mint chocolate chip), but the mint tasted pretty bland (I usually expect mint to pop in my mouth). When I'm in Dublin, I usually prefer Graeter's over Jeni's from a price point perspective as well as the places I frequent tend to have Jeni's rather than Graeter (ie. Short North). 1 thing I enjoy here is the ice cream & milk based milkshake. I'll admit - Graeter's is the place of more traditional ice cream flavors when compared to Jeni's & Handel's but none of the other 2 makes shakes the Graeter's way. I went for the kid size Mocha Chip. After having such a large lunch, the kid size was just right. The kid size was probably a scoop and a half. The Mocha chip; a great blend of creamy milk and coffee with hand broken chocolate chips. The imperfections of the chocolate chips made the ice cream that much more personal. Classic flavors with some unique ones. Graeter's was definitely a Graet way to end the work day. read more
