I absolutely love this daycare! Both my 1 & 3-year-old son's teachers are amazing with my kids!…read moreUnfortunately, we have to leave because it's really expensive with 2 kids but if we could afford it, my husband and I would definitely keep our kids in. They do so many activities like art and dance but they also have a really good curriculum that incorporates learning objectives for their age. They always sent pictures throughout the day to show some of the things they've done. And for the comments that speak on biting, it is normal at the age of 1-2 because most children are getting new teeth. Parents and teachers must reinforce teething toys and/or model correct behavior. Teachers worked with me when I noticed my son trying to bite because I told them he was teething. I'm not going to lie, there are a lot of students per teacher, which can be overwhelming for the teachers but that is the O2B policy: 3-6 students per teacher for the 1-2 yo rooms. So that may be why things happen, teachers turn their back for one second and one kid is taking a toy and the other one bites or hits back before the teacher can stop it. Its understandable. Overall, I am glad that my kids got to attend this daycare. Teachers always called when any kind of incident happened and I am grateful for that. My kids were always treated with respect, kindness, and love and that's the most important thing to find in a daycare teacher!

My kids are excelling academically and emotionally, all thanks to the attention paid to their personal growth and development. Park Maitland feels like a warm hug coupled with academic rigor. Children are allowed to become true individuals, exploring their passions while supported by the loving faculty and staff. I remember feeling the same way - I reaped the benefits of an exceptional education while feeling safe to try new things and be myself 30 + years ago! It's been a joy watching my kids blossom and soar. The campus is adorable and they have special traditions for each grade that they look forward to each year, including a yearly theatrical production. As an aside, they have kept our children safe during the pandemic, with zero quarantines required due to their strict mask policy. I highly recommend Park Maitland and urge any interested families to schedule an interview!

We chose the JCC due to their excellent reputation for having great programs and warm, loving, highly certified teachers who have been there for years. They welcome families from all faiths, cultures and backgrounds and do not ask you for this personal information on sign-up. Sign-up process: Very smooth. We signed up for Fall preschool some time around Valentines day this year (yep- 6 months in advance). Be sure to call in January and get the exact sign-up date for the year. They take a certain number of students and then start a waitlist. They keep their class sizes relatively small and will try to hire teachers to maintain the proper ratio. They have both full time and part time classes. Beware that they open registration to previous students and siblings of previous students first. Step-up: This is a class conducted in the Shayna's Village wing of the facility. It's a stepwise process introducing your child to being in a classroom environment. Starts off with caregivers fully engaged along with children, then a few weeks later all caregivers on the sidelines, then a few weeks later, caregivers drop off children and can view progress through the one-way window if desired. Very good for kids used to being at home alone with caregiver who parents want to gently transition to classroom environment. They have a set schedule with repetition which is very helpful because young kids are more comfortable being left alone once they have the routine down. My son enjoys a variety of activities including music, Judaica, outside and indoor free play, snack and story time and circle time. Amenities: Family JCC membership comes with enrollment for the school year! They have a great fitness center with classes like cardio/dance bootcamp, activities like Israeli dancing and potluck shabbat, and childcare opportunities like drop off for date nights. During the summer we have been enjoying the pool parties which happen once per month and include lunch. They have tennis courts and recently started a pickle ball league. Facility: On the older side but very well kept. Classrooms very clean. Lots of additions to the original building make for a maze-like feel but once you are there a couple of times, you can find your way. The entrance has double doors and you are required to show ID prior to entering (unless you have your membership/key card). There are security guards on campus. Promotes a feeling of safety without it looking scary. There is a new Barnies coffee stand in the front with yummy drinks, some snacks and treats. New families should be sure not to miss new parent orientation so you can get an overview of all of the services and events.

Prior…read moreto joining Primrose he was at a top ranked school (think moon and STAR) and was getting booboo reports almost daily. He would come home thirsty and would fight me at bed time. When he received a booboo that required us to go the emergency room it was time to look for a new place. The entire atmosphere is different. Primrose is serene. Everyone is warm and you don't have kids screaming everywhere. Ms. Lopez and Ms. Fernandez are his teachers. They are so good with the children. They celebrated Gentry's birthday and made him feel special. I have popped by and have always found the teachers interacting with the kids. I also noticed they give the kids healthy snacks, not just some saltines and a piece of cheese. In the six weeks we have been there, not one booboo report! In the six weeks, Gentry comes home singing (yes, singing his abcs and numbers), is in a great mood and even goes to bed without a fight. I had no idea the stress the other place was putting him under until I experienced his new school. I guess his hand being slammed in a door at his prior school was a good thing. It allowed us to find Primrose.
