Montessori School of East Orlando is a true diamond in the rough in our local educational…read morecommunity. You won't just find a school here - you'll find a cohesive community of teachers, students, and parents that truly partner together to provide a nurturing yet rigorous educational experience. The low student to teacher ratio allows teachers to truly get to know each student and their individual strengths and needs so they can best support them where they're at. They don't only focus on teaching students academics but also support growth in necessary life skills such as time management, prioritization, social emotional skills, responsibility, and flexibility. They also have a wide array of classes outside of standard academics such as ballroom dancing, drama, Spanish, PE, and art so students have a well rounded experience. I couldn't be happier to have my daughter at MSEO and can't recommend this school enough!

We enrolled our daughter for her first year of preschool at Montessori School of East Orlando and…read morewe saw an immediate change in her ability to write her name and her interest in wanting to write more within the first month. The school brought a love and desire for learning to our child. Our daughter was very shy and struggled to communicate with anyone she didn't associate with on a constant basis and she would cry and hide if she was made the center of attention. The school's natural environment is encouraging children to come out of their shells. It's been an amazing transformation to watch her grow in confidence and learn to love doing something even if people are watching. At our daughter's first parent/teacher meeting the director/primary teacher said "She may never want to get up in front of a group and talk or perform but we will give her tools to use to be able to do it." We watched our daughter dread getting up in front of other to now excited to show off what she enjoys. It's been a beautiful transformation. I've never seen an environment where so many children of all ages love one another so much. The older kids look out for the younger ones and set an example that is exemplary. I feel so at ease that my child is getting good influences from her peers. Her classmates are encouraging to one another and rally to help a classmate in need and cheer them on The teachers and staff truly care about what's best for your child to make sure they are getting what they need and are progressing in their curriculum. They put emphasis on the process of a task over just completing it, so our daughter feels pride doing the steps that lead to the completion of the task just as much as feeling the joy of finishing something. I love that our daughter will have the same teachers for multiple years, I feel this will be invaluable to her growth because they know her and know what her capabilities are. I also love that she gets plenty of one on one time with the teachers as well. Everyone is great at communication if you reach out to them or need something, which is amazing because there is a clear and open dialog for whatever your questions or needs may be. Overall we think its a wonderful school and as a parent you can be as involved as you want to be with the many special events the parent's put on for the children. The existing parents are very welcoming to the new parents.

My family and I were very disappointed with our experience when trying to schedule a school tour…read more As Deaf parents, we simply asked The First Academy to provide an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter so we could fully understand the information being shared during the tour. Despite multiple emails and opportunities to reconsider, the school declined to provide an interpreter. Instead, we were told to rely on written communication, tablets, and "extra time," which are not effective or equitable substitutes for real-time ASL access. This does not provide meaningful communication for Deaf adults, especially during an important process like evaluating a potential school for our children. We were also told we could "bring our own interpreter," which shifts the burden of accessibility onto families rather than meeting basic inclusion standards. We left the interaction feeling that the school was not prepared to support the communication needs of Deaf parents. Accessibility should not be optional, and it should not depend on families paying out-of-pocket to participate. I hope the school takes this feedback seriously and re-evaluates its approach to serving Deaf and hard-of-hearing families in the future.

They offer classes from infants to kindergarten. Children learn academics, language, science, dramatic play, art, and much more. The food is carefully selected and healthy. The staff has given me updates on how my daughter is adjusting daily. You can tell a good place when all the children are happy and shining. She has been with a Primrose school for over a year now and has really opened up academically and socially too. We are very discerning parents when it comes to my daughter. Overall, we love the curriculum and my daughter loves going to school.

Evidence of this My Daughter started Middle School this year and because of her 5 years at Choices was automatically put in the Advanced classes to include GEMS Math and again she is excelling. My youngest went there last year for VPK and is now in Kindergarten. And in little more than a month he is reading books at home already at a higher level than kids his age typically read without help. Do they teach to the test (FSA) yep they do. Coming from an unbiased student's opinion, please save yourself the hassle of going through this…read moreschool. At my last school, which I had gone to for three years, I had only one problem the whole time I was there. At PCCA, which I have been going to for not even a year, I've had over five personal ones, and counting. Both general and personal problems include poor teaching curriculums, poor classroom and time organization, little to no arts, nor sports, very few clubs if any, messed up schedules, horrible staff communication, greediness, problems with non-Christian students, and trust me, this list goes on. This whole school honestly feels fake, both spiritually and academically. I am a student that has been in advanced classes for multiple years, passing all of them, and suddenly I feel like I'm being pulled back with poor teaching and environment. The money problems are also super clear. Only two toilets out of 8-10 in the whole North building flush correctly, easy fix to just call someone in. No, let's spend money on TVs and kiosks for digital passes. The staff are also super unprofessional and organized. My dad sent two emails to the headmaster, never got a response, multiple dates and times for events have been moved/messed up, the principal for secondary looks at people crazy when she has to actually do her job instead of just sitting around gossiping all day, my schedule was messed up for almost a month, and updates are almost never communicated properly or are last minute. It's not even just me who has had problems with this school in my family, I had a cousin whose mom pulled him out because he would come home crying every day from bullying, I have another cousin whose mom is constantly complaining about organization, and have another cousin who left the school due to complaints about the teaching. Doing research about this school, it once actually was decent, which is where all the "top school" reviews come from. The arts program had actual theater, there was a wider range of electives, classes like Spanish actually had a classroom with a teacher, and there was a variety of organized sports to play in. This school has clearly fell off, and it might be time to consider if keeping it open is a good idea.
