I felt strongly pressured into moving forward with the procedure, including being repeatedly contacted and pushed to put down a deposit and schedule treatment. Looking back, I feel the sales process was predatory, especially given the amount of money involved. The treatment itself did not produce the results I was expecting. In fact, over the years I began noticing that the areas treated, particularly my stomach, seemed increasingly resistant to weight loss and appeared more swollen even when I was losing weight elsewhere. I now suspect I may have developed paradoxical adipose hyperplasia (PAH), a known potential complication of CoolSculpting, and I am going to see a doctor to have this evaluated. I want to be clear that I have not yet received a medical diagnosis, so I am not claiming that CoolSculpting definitively caused what I am experiencing. However, this is a serious enough concern that I now have to seek medical evaluation and potentially treatment years after the procedure. Because CoolSculpting is an elective cosmetic procedure, I also expect that the medical evaluation and any treatment related to a potential complication may have to come out of my own pocket rather than being covered by insurance. That means I could end up paying significantly more money to address a problem I believe may have resulted from a procedure I already paid thousands of dollars for. When I contacted the business about a refund, I was told that too much time had passed and that I had not returned for my three-month "follow-up." My understanding at the time was that this appointment was related to potential additional treatment, rather than being presented to me as a formal evaluation of whether I was satisfied with my original results. I was already unhappy with the results and did not want to feel pressured into spending even more money. I was also told that complications such as PAH were extremely rare. I now know that it is a recognized complication of CoolSculpting, which has made me question how the risks were communicated to me before I agreed to the procedure. I regret spending approximately $3,000 on this treatment, especially given the possibility that I may now have additional medical expenses to determine what is happening and how to address it. I am sharing my experience because I would want to know this before spending thousands of dollars on an elective procedure. Do your research, understand the potential risks, and make sure you fully understand what follow-up appointments actually involve before committing to treatment.

When I arrived for my appointment, I was informed that my injector was unavailable and that my appointment would be with a different provider. I was uncomfortable proceeding because I had specifically chosen my injector and had an established treatment plan with her. When I expressed hesitation, I was told I could be charged a no-show fee if I did not continue with the appointment. As a result, I limited the amount of filler placed in my lips because I did not want to alter the results I had been building with my original injector. During the appointment, the provider I saw was very kind and sweet but with the situation I was in it was hard for me to be fully comfortable...... Afterward, I learned that the injector I had repeatedly been told was unavailable due to training was no longer working at the practice at that time. This information directly conflicted with the explanation I was given when my appointment was rescheduled. What concerns me most is not the provider I saw, but the lack of transparency regarding who would be performing my treatment. Patients should be given accurate information and the opportunity to make informed decisions about who performs their injectable procedures. When I later contacted the business to discuss my experience, my concerns were not meaningfully addressed.
