The salon is well-kept, and the staff is always cordial, professional, and understanding of what their customers want. They take care with their work, and I have always been happy with the results of my eyebrow threading. There can occasionally be a wait, but that is understandable when you cannot predict how many customers will walk in, especially here in Bergen County, NJ, where you seemingly have to wait for nearly anything you do. In my experience, I have found the service to be careful, consistent, and professionally performed. Overall, I feel comfortable returning to Amita's Salon and appreciate the quality of service I receive there. I would recommend Amita's salon for eyebrow threading and other services.

I've sent many people to Carmen, and everyone has been extremely happy with her. That being said, I enjoyed this new relocation for Carmen as her wait before easily became a 2-3 hour trip for eyebrow waxing. I kept the rating at three stars because last I went to the Spa, they weren't offering mani/pedi services which I would really enjoy to make this a one stop shop, and I hope scheduled appointments are implemented at some point to offset wait times in general.

Severe chemical damage to my daughter's hair--zero accountability…read more My daughter went to Mavida Salon 93 South Main St. Lodi New Jersey July 6,2026 at 11am for hair color and FULL head of highlights. She booked the appointment with THE OWNER of the salon Cheryl whom i personally spoke with on the phone the night before. She assured me that she would be the one taking my daughter as a client and she did! She also said it's CASH ONLY. My daughter has shoulder length hair, the COLOR price was $50.00, FULL HIGHLIGHTS $150.00 the total was $200.00 with a 20% tip of $40.00. Making the Total of this appointment $240.00 that my daughter paid cash to Cheryl at the end of this incomplete service. Cheryl did not blow dry her hair, she was to busy (obviously overbooked) so my daughter left the salon with wet hair. Cheryl obviously knowing the damage that was done when she had her at the sink as she was shampooing the chemicals and taking the foils out of her hair. Unfortunately, the service resulted in severe chemical breakage, uneven color tone, and very sloppy and unprofessional partial highlights (we booked FULL highlights) and severe irritation on her scalp. Her hair is now extremely brittle and breaking due to the over, processing time by being left UNDER THE DRYER with the bleach and color chemicals on her scalp and hair as she worked on other clients. My daughter continuously asking Cheryl to check her color and highlights and Cheryl kept telling her she's not done yet without even checking a foil. The other workers and clients were observing what was going on, they witnessed the intentional act but said nothing. However, they did make eye gestures to my daughter as if they couldn't understand why Cheryl was not checking her hair. My daughter had chemicals on her head from 11:45 AM until 2 PM. When I called the owner Cheryl to discuss what happened that evening she was dismissive and refused to acknowledge HER error. We trusted this business with my daughter's hair, and instead, it was completely destroyed. A professional salon should know how to safely manage HAIR health. The lack of skill and care shown by the owner herself is completely unacceptable. This was supposed to be a pleasant day for my daughter as a gift from me to her, and it turned out to be a disaster and a very bad experience.

The only reason this place gets 1 star is because they have are open on Mondays whereas most places are not. First of all, it is SO DARK in here. Do I look like I can glow in the dark? Yes, I have thick facial hair, no I do not tweeze, yes the hair is short, can you please just pull out as much as possible! I don't understand these places making al these comments. I am paying you for a service. I appreciate your unqualified assessment, but I am not interested. I also tried this place twice more, and it was the same thing. The final time I went, it was early 10AM on a sunny day, and again, it was SOOOO DARK INSIDE! Of course I walk out and not al of the hair has been removed. Also, their prices?? I found Dockery on Yelp and thought let me give this place a try. Now we know we can take changes with brows but worst case scenario you can pencil in errors. So I decided to take our trustworthy yelpers opinions and made my way to Dockery. Amrit was the person who threaded my eyebrows and I was impressed. She was quick and very thorough. She threaded my eyebrows well and probably the quickest brow visit ever. I must have been in her chair for perhaps 5 mins or so. I also think it's because my eyes brows aren't difficult to handle. My only complain is that there was no powder or sort of lotion they usually put on your brows to either cool them off or not have them itchy as much. That was disappointing because I feel like you need either one since your brows, at least mine, itch a lot after threading. Other great parts of my visit was that they accept credit cards ($10 min) and you can put your tip on it as well. You can book your appointment online and they offer lots of time slots. They offer a various services for all of your beauty needs. This place may become my new eyebrow place.

Parking is somewhat difficult but that's to be expected in this area. However, the brow tinting was low quality. The staff member who did it put the tint all over my skin, and didn't do the full length of one of my brows. This meant my brow looked unnaturally thick but also short, since the front of my brow was not tinted. Then, when the staff member was removing the tint from my brows, she got some on my brow bone. I asked her to clean it up, but she said it would fade on its own. It did not. It peeled my skin and took off a few layers. If the tinting was done JUST over my eyebrow hair, it probably would have looked great. It faded within 4-5 days so I didn't have to deal with it for long, but I was surprised that a $30 tinting service (which included the waxing) faded so quickly. I did tell them that the service was not up to standard/the pictures on their pages. They apologized but said there was nothing they could do. Again, the waxing and staff are great! but the tinting is definitely a no from me.
