We met Paul at Albany, IL boat ramp where we began our 4-hour outing. He had a great bass boat with a trolling motor, depth finder/navigation, and power poles. He has fished in many tournaments and was well versed with his equipment. We caught dozens of crappie and a good number of catfish! A few bluegills and a bowfin as well. If you schedule a tour, please show up on time. The guide waited on people that was late. Also, don't take a tour if you plan to be disruptive and talk about non-related items the entire tour. The tour guide had a lot of patience with the audience, and we could tell that the constant laughter and cackling was a distraction to him.

Instead of charging us the deposit fee and signing a contract. They are charging $300 to replace the NON secure cowl. After we went and looked for it in the water. Not our fault but we have to pay. Teenager that we went through to rent boat had no clue what he was doing. Teenager did not check to make sure everything was working or ok. Very poor way to run a business. What was to be a fun experience for our family has now become an expensive nightmare!

They didn't have the reservation that I hade made a few months prior however they provided a campsite quickly and was extra concerned that I was not charged twice. It seemed that the facilities were more geared to the marina rather than camping. If I am passing through again and needed a pleasant overnight stay, I would definitely stay again.
