No issues with the transaction of purchasing the 92 GMC Typhoon from GR Auto Gallery. All went smoothly.... I did ask if could obtain maintenance records for the vehicle from previous owners. I was told an attempt was made to obtain maintenance records with no reply from the previous owner of the vehicle. I really needed the maintenance history to see what had been fixed / replaced / fluid changes, ect. I asked for a copy of all pictures of the vehicle that was posted on your website which showed all angles (top, bottom, sides)... none were provided for my own file, but none were provided.... Buyer Beware!!!!!!! This post comes with much heartache and sadness of what I've had to experience with GR auto gallery. To start, I live on the west coast and was eagerly wanting to change up my 2016 Chevy Silverado. After countless days and hours of searching, I found what I thought was the creme de la creme of Ford OBS. It was a two toned blue 1993 Ford F250. From the pictures, this truck looked like the full package. Description from gr auto gallery was how clean this truck was. Little did I know, I was about to embark on a truck that had the most rust, most engine problems, and exhaust issues that I've ever seen on a single vehicle. Steve, when you talk to him is a great sales person. He can sell that's for sure. What he sells Is a a bunch of junk in my case. I took possession of my new truck and took it to my trusty mechanic. The check on my vehicle was not a good one. The entire undercarriage of this vehicle was entirely rusted out, the shocks were completely rusted through, brakes completely rusted out, the muffler smoked after driving 13 miles to work due to the large amounts of black undercoat spray, sprayed on every component underneath to hide and mask the true horror of rust and corrosion. The dash lights also were non op and failed to work, which if operable would have shown the true amount of problems this truck really had under the hood. Vacuum lines and other ports on the engine were plugged or disconnected and when I attempted to get it smogged failed miserably. I say this today to not buy from this company and waste the money I wasted here. Make sure to do your own checking before putting your hard earned money into a vehicle like I did. This is a lesson learned. I am so ashamed of this company and don't know how GR auto gallery stays in business. I will be taking this matter to the better business bureau. read more

Jared re[presented the car as "everything working correctly". as we live in florida, we had the car taken to gr motorcar for inspection( great people). found ac didnt work, radio dint work, oil leaks master cylinder problems and suspension issues. Jared then went on to say that GR Motorcars were liars and i shouldn't have the car repaired there. we bought the car, had it repaired, and the chris, an owner, accused me of not signing the paperwork which was a lie and then said if i dint change the corrections to the paperwork, they would report the car stolen. The cars are so tightly packed in there you can barely walk in between them without rubbing up against them. I live in Miami, purchased a 1980 International Scout II over the internet from GR Auto Gallery, Grand Rapids location. Several pictures and video posted. Keegan Eckert, salesman (no longer with the company), was courteous. Or was he? I had only 2 main concerns. 1) Is there rust? Pictures or video didn't show it. 2) Are there any leaks? I emailed and called Keegan several times to reassure me there was no rust. I was going to send an independent inspection company, but Keegan told me "trust me, there's no rust". Against my better judgement (and I guess the excitement of getting the car) I didn't order the inspection. I wanted to do some upgrades to the car, but definitely didn't want rust. I received the car a few days later, it was obvious from unloading the car, there were leaks. Now this was the least of my concerns, since I was going to do a lot of work in the car, I just didn't want to stain my garage while I took it to the mechanic. Then... surprise. I had to replace the WHOLE floor with new metal sheet. Everything from the metal stripe mid way through the doors down was rusted and had to be replaced. Carpet was installed and some other things were done to hide the rust. No way they could've shown on 1,000 pictures had they taken that many. If anyone had touched the bottom, it would've yielded and poked a hole through it with minor force. I spent $6,000 and 3 months of work to custom-replace the floor, you can't buy these anywhere, have to be custom-made. I emailed the owner, who very "graciously" offered $500 "towards the expense and trouble". At this point, I don't care about his offer, I just want to make people aware about this company. He claims they sell 75 cars a month, which would definitely make them specialists. By not disclosing the rust, which was my main concern, it makes them dishonest, deceiving and in my book, crooks. I'm hoping out-of-state buyers read my review and at the very least, hire an independent inspection company before buying anything from them. It's worth the investment. Hiring an inspection company would expose these crooks that take advantage of people. read more

We purchased an 1982 Jeep CJ7 represented with beautiful pictures and salesman platitudes. GR booked a shipper to Florida. The car arrived promptly but didn't run. We took it to a repair shop which found: 1) the engine had virtually no compression. 2) the radiator would not hold pressure due to a leak. 3) the steering gear was warn as well as tie rod end. 4) the frame was bent causing difficult steering. 5) the brakes were worn out. 6) the transmission would not stay in 2nd gear. 7) there was an area in the floor pan that was rusted through and just painted over. 8) the tires were peeling from dry rot. Since the purchase we have spent much more than the vehicle is worth just to be able to drive it on the road. read more

They don't check the cars thoroughly before they sell them to ya folks. Also, insanely overpriced vehicles (even when comparing to the typical high market trends happening right now), especially considering the fact that GR Auto Gallery does not have a mechanic on staff to check the cars, nor do they take them for test drives. I called asking about info on the state of a vehicle and I did receive some information (Laura said she ran a magnet across the bottom of the vehicle for rust), but beyond that many of the responses I got were the equivalent to a verbal shrug i.e. they truly don't know if the vehicle will fall apart immediately or not. It looks like some people had a good experience here, but the bad reviews on this place are BAD. Not worth risking thousands of dollars here in my opinion. Just a reminder that these cars are not checked in-depth or tested before sale. read more

I went with GR Auto Gallery on a recommendation of a friend. I had an antique car that I wanted to sell. When the car was dropped off, there were a couple of issues that needed to be fixed. Nothing big. I asked for a knob to be put on, and the spare tire mounted properly. After the car was there for slightly over a year, I was requested to pull the car from their inventory. It wasn't selling. Okay. Just before I was to pick-up the car, I was told that it was running poorly, and the battery would not hold a charge. I thought maybe I should arrange for a tow. Good thing I did. The battery was dead, and the car would never have started. Not only that, but I found the knob had never been installed, and the spare tire was never mounted properly in the trunk. read more

Fraud Frankenstein gas tank patch on nice 280z - gas leaks splashes - car delivered after 5 weeks of complaints and gM extortion for extra money after the sale for the prepaid covered transport. Car left in driveway without notice by non-English speaking drive who demanded my wife sign for vehicle. Title much later delayed inspection- brakes locked, clutch fluid dry and gaping 12x12 hole on gas tank. GM Brendan stated in writing vehicle had no safe issues or concerns. Car will not be drivable for months due to difficulties finding tank in us. Tank was so butcher up by GRAG that unacceptable as core for zsource. Dealership states they will not obtain replacement fuel tank or cover replacement. Gasoline vapors and leak could cause explosion- these car abusers don't care for their cars and could care less if they caused injury or death buyer be ware- do not purchase from here- walk away- their license should be revoked. Brendan why do you not take care of this- your actions are criminal. You cannot sell a car like this. Fix it find me a replacement or hide from past customers that you harmed. We exchanged a few emails about the car for sale (Camaro Z28) condition, price, etc. My next email was me trying to come look at it (I'm in Chicago and they're in Detroit) he responds with the car has been sold, I was devastated seeing that I've been searching for this particular Camaro forever now, wish I got a warning that someone else was interested but oh well. So the next day Doug emails me saying the deal didn't go through and if I was still interested. YES, you could see the excitement on my face from a mile away and this time I was going to jump on this, forget driving 5 hours away to see it because I KNOW I want it so after a few emails we agree on a price and shipping charge. I asked him what's my next step and how do we move forward with the deal, I got no response that day. So after a day of biting my nails the anticipation was killing me, I emailed him asking if he got my message yesterday and his response was "we have sold the car, a kid came in with a trade that we wanted" I've been waiting years to find this car in this condition and that had everything I was looking for as far as upgrades and they sell it to some kid because they wanted his damn trade in. First come first served doesn't apply with this company, I learned this TWICE! After giving him a piece of my mind he tells me thanks for understanding which was the complete opposite because i didn't/couldn't understand how they could do this to a ready to buy customer with no warning shot what so ever. I brought my car here in May. You do not need to keep insurance on it while they have it which is great. You pay a fee of around $300 (I can't remember exactly how much) which covers a ton of pictures plus a video and then they post it on all the major online car sites. It took a little over 3 months and I agreed to drop the price a couple times but in the end I got what I needed to get. It was a painless experience- selling a high performance car is a pain because many people just want to take it for a drive and aren't really interested in buying. Of the four doors, only two could be opened from the outside. The radiator had such a large hole that the coolant flows out. Not just dripping. This error can not be explained, because I got these things in mails and phone calls called in very good condition. However, the transport company only transported the car and did not drive it. So buy only cars that you have seen and driven. Because on all other commitments of the company is reliable. If I could give GR Auto Gallery in Michigan a no star review I would. Drove hours, told the salesman when we would be there and had to wait over an hour for him. Car not ready, they had to work to get it started. Went to our local license branch and they did not provide sufficient paperwork to process the title and registration. So we cannot title or license until GR Auto Gallery in Michigan provides the proper documents and we cannot drive it with no plates. GR Auto collected sales tax, however, I live in Indiana and our BMV says they have to transfer the title to them since they collected sales tax. Oh but GR Auto will not transfer the title to themselves because they are an auto broker. So I guess we will probably have to pay sales tax again and leave out their paperwork and only use the sellers title with GR's POA paperwork (that they failed to mail to us).
