I'm an interior designer, and when possible I prefer to spend my money locally and at small businesses. I just moved to Bellflower and needed to get 4 bar stool cushions custom formed to the scoop of the seat and covered in my own fabric. Getting into the shop was easy, I called Glenn and he asked me to schedule the appointment with his employee, Chris. Collaborating with Glenn on the design and materials of the cushions was easy and quick, he seemed to understand his craft so I trusted his judgement and left one of the bar stools for him to work from. If you work with them, be prepared to pay a 50% deposit before work begins. This is an industry standard. I am pleased with their workmanship and fair pricing. I was told the project would be ready in four weeks; in the end, they took 4 days longer to complete the project than planned. Not the end of the world. Chris was communicative about the progress of the work throughout the project. GQ Interior is a small family run operation, but it seems to be growing into its own. read more

Glenn is very knowledgeable and also friendly. Their work is professional and they produce quality products. We used them to help replace our dining room chair cushions. Glenn was upfront about the costs and what we needed and we appreciated that. We called around to several places but we felt Glenn was the most knowledgeable and we could tell he cared about the final product he would be delivering to us - an important aspect we were looking for. GQ Interior also was familiar with and had access to some popular types of fabrics, including revolution fabric, that we were interested in - several other places we contacted had never heard of revolution fabric. He also uses high resiliency foam, which apparently is used in the restaurant industry too since they last longer - we were also interested in this for our dining room chair cushions which Glenn uses for his work. I was very hesitant to have my sectional reupholstered, but after looking at different sectionals I just could not find the color or shape that I wanted. I've had this sectional for over 10 years and it kept its shape and sturdiness but the fabric was faded and showed it's age. I went to 2 other places for quotes and as usual I like getting 3 quotes. As soon as I walked into GQ Interiors I felt so welcomed. I first met Glen then his beautiful wife Lucia who were just so friendly and very patient helping me select the fabric. I'm so happy with the job they all did, their staff is excellent, courteous, polite and talented on what they do. I honestly felt at home with them. I swear the work they did is flawless, the seams are straighter than the original sofa and the detail is amazing. I am just so happy with my decision to reupholster vs purchasing a new sectional, I'm thankful for the quality of their work and great service. Glenn reupholstered our couch, recliner, and a family heirloom called a Morse recliner. Every step of the process exceeded our expectations and we are extremely pleased. The details on the Morse recliner were stunning! Glenn was able to match the lions feet which raised the chair for us. The refinishing of the woodwork on this chair was also excellent. All the pieces was done using a heavy duty foam. All of our pieces are better than when when we first purchased them. Glenn was also able to take out the sleeper sofa as we do not use the sleeper any longer. Lucia was so patient as we were looking for the right fabrics. Contacted Glenn in regards to a sofa cushion needing repair. He was able to give me a quote from images I sent to him through email. We felt the amount was very reasonable. GQ was awesome and had amazing customer service. I called the day before to fix a sofa pillow case that had torn and Glenn told me I could bring it in that same day or the next. He told me he could have my repair done within the same day, and so I returned later in the evening before closing. He told me he had had a busy day and had not quite gotten to it yet, which I was totally understanding of, but he offered to fix the item on the spot if given a few minutes before closing. Not even in 5 minutes was my fabric restored to "brand new" with a new zipper lining. On top of that, GQ asked me if I was a father and when I said yes, gave me the repair on the house for Father's Day and the inconvenience. I offered to pay but he insisted over and over again. The least I can do is throw out this awesome review of his excellent service. Thanks so much! You know this guy and his business takes pride in their work. This review is months overdue but now that we are in COVID lockdown and looking at weird economic times, I wanted to be sure to give credit where it is due. Hopefully when we are back to stronger financial times, there will be those that decide to take on an upholstery project or two. GQ Interior was recommended to me by a charity shop on Signal Hill that at one point had taught upholstery to disabled people but no longer providing public service. I emailed GQ and sent some pictures of 3 chairs I needed reupholstered for a special event I was having at my home. GQ/Lucia called me and thus we began the project. GQ provided a quote that I felt was very fair, I provided the fabric but not the nail heads. I assumed GC would use something nice. We were under the gun because it was just before the Thanksgiving holidays, 2019, and I pleaded for a tight delivery date. Lucia committed to having the project done and they did! That, to me, was just so wonderful. I never got to meet Lucia in person as my husband transported the chairs back and forth so my vision for the chairs (each chair was different) was based on our conversations and email. Lucia kept me updated on status. When the chairs came home, they were perfect. But I must mention...GQ went above and beyond. The owner took the time to explain to my husband that for the nail heads, they didn't use "strips". Each nail head was put into place individually and their choice was beautiful, especially the black nail heads that I never expected. I am just so pleased. Its not easy to find a good designer/upholsterer. Plus I recommended GC to my good friend and neighbor who is very exacting...she took cushions to GQ for new fill material. She, too, was most pleased and plans to have more furniture pieces redone. So again, GC, I'm sorry I didn't get this review done sooner because you really deserve the praise. Glenn did a beautiful job in reupholstering a record cabinet--it looks brand new. After that he refinished the wood on an old sewing machine cabinet (it was damaged with cigarette burns) and an end table that was damaged when a worker spilled Coke on it. He did a beautiful job on both of them. You would never know how badly they were damaged. When he returned those items, I had him take my cocktail table to refinish. Glenn is very personable, his prices are reasonable; and I would trust him with any project I wanted to have done. read more
