I had some great private lessons here to get the hang of analog process again after 15 years away from film.

I mainly shot photos in automatic mode while attempting to study the other modes, via YouTube videos and reading blogs. My last straw was after I took a trip to Antelope Canyon (look it up....it's a photographer's playground) and did not get the pictures I wanted. The beginning of the class was a little hectic since our class was over 20 people on a Saturday afternoon. JP and Jules helped set up everyone's cameras. I liked his teaching style, despite being the type of person who likes to memorize and take notes. Don't worry; he gives out a summary hand out at the end of the class. He had the class learn through a few exercises. We covered exposure compensation, aperture and shutter speed. The pace of the course was perfect and JP made sure everyone understood everything fully. I was amazed at how much I learned (and retained) in the 3 hours. At the end of the class, he offers an in-person discount for all of his other classes. I would highly recommend checking out this class; definitely worth the value! Thanks JP!

They agreed to a refund and then kept making excuses and saying the refund was being issued and then it wasn't. They said some BS about they only issue refunds on the 1st and 15th of the month then when the first came and went couldn't seem to come up with a reason why the money hadn't been refunded. Their facility is clean, the hallways replete with excellent examples of the handiwork of their students. ICP is an institution that is meant to be liked and loved. One counter-stereotypical feature is that their students don't seem to be the starved artsy kind--many of the full-timers are Apple MacBook and iPhone wielding hipsters who are likely recipients of handsome grants, thanks to ICP dot org. Perhaps that explains the steep prices for the courses? All said, I wish I had the time and disposable dollar outlay to take their endless dosage of formal instructions in digital and film photography. While I don't expect to turn into Ansel Adams, ICP can certainly transform me into a technical know-it-all in photography.

My husband and I got married on September 5th, 2015 and used Max Flatow for both our engagement shoot and wedding. He was so flexible and really cared about what we wanted, and went out of his way to ensure we were always happy and satisfied (two perfect examples: 1. he offered us a second engagement shoot when my husband and I decided there would not be enough time on my wedding day to shoot near the Brooklyn Bridge Park, and 2. He went to preview our venue in Staten Island a week prior to the wedding since he had never worked there before). Max is so friendly and personal, and we always felt comfortable with him. He captured gorgeous shots (the lighting, the energy, the emotion... uuuhh beautiful) without ever being intrusive, and provides such gentle guidance while shooting. He brings so much passion and professionalism to his work - every detail is beautiful (even the USB stick with our photos). I give my highest recommendation to Max Flatow Photography! He was our absolute favorite vendor to work with!

Max is a true professional, and a stellar photographer. He makes you feel comfortable and confident in the moment, and he has an incredible eye for photography. We did some shots in Fort Greene Park and the surrounding neighborhood before our ceremony, and Max directed us at every turn and created some gorgeous, very Brooklyn-esque photos. We could not be happier with his work, and to top it off, he's a super nice person!! Our guests loved him and expressed all the same sentiments. Thank you, Max!
