All the reasonably-priced photographers work looked more amateur. Also, many photographers had certain time limits. I was getting frustrated and stressed out until I encountered Marsal Studios on a whim (Facebook ad?). Since they were located in Westbook and my wedding was in Old Saybrook, I figured they were geographically convenient. When I e-mailed owner/photographer Virginia Roberts, she immediately got back to me and had a very pleasant tone. So my then-fiance (now husband) and I ventured south to Westbrook to meet Virginia at Marsal Studios (which she co-owns with her husband, Rick) located in the Water's Edge shops. Immediately, Jason and I were drawn to Virginia's gentle demeanor and sincerity. The photos were stunning and the videos were spectacular! For the price, we got two photographers and unlimited time; which was true value considering that most photography studios charged more for one photographer and less amount of time (6 hours). We were so impressed with Marsal Studios that we booked them on the spot! Our wedding day proved that we made the right decision in selecting Virginia and her team at Marsal Studios; they really were some of the hardest working people in the wedding industry. Virginia arrived at my room at 9 a.m. and worked until 11 p.m., when the reception ended. She was very easy to work with and all of my moms and attendants loved having her there. Tom, her assistant, photographed the guys getting ready. Many of our guests were impressed with the amount of shots they took, including two former photographers. From looking at our photos, I was so happy with the outcome, as were the guests! Looking at my wedding album helps me relive the best day of my life. Good pictures start from being at ease and Carrie will definitely put you at ease. Even from the first consultation, she makes you feel like you are the only client and the only one that matters. Her pictures are amazing and every now and then she'll say "Let me try something" - those will be the best pictures. One thing I was not expecting was for her to help me draw up a timeline for the day. I didn't have a wedding planner and kind of cobbled it all together myself. Carrie, based on all her experience, advised me on getting hair and makeup done earlier (she was right), having the flowers delivered earlier (she was right again - especially since the delivery was running late), and leaving earlier to get to the church. As she said, no bride has ever complained about being too early. I wasn't too early at any stage and her timeline actually prevented me from being late and stressed out. The second photographer she came with (Dan) was just as great. After meeting him for the first time on the day of the wedding, I was instantly at ease with him in under 5 mins. In photographs I typically have either RBF or a double chin because I'm usually laughing. I also cringe at the standard posed wedding photography and knew right off the bat that it would be a mission to find a wedding photographer that would be up for the challenge. So if you're like me, you may dread the thought of choosing a wedding photographer. It was by chance that I came across CMP's photographs while browsing on Pinterest. They immediately caught my eye; they were editorial, intimate and full of personality. Bottom line - stunning. Fortunately CMP had one photographer available for our date -- Danny. We lucked out because he is not only extremely talented in his craft, but also a total gem of a person. The photographs from our engagement shoot (WHICH COMES WITH YOUR PACKAGE AND IS AN AMAZING BENEFIT OF CMP'S SERVICES) made it immediately clear that Danny has a superb eye and was able to capture our personality as a couple. I've been non-stop spamming friends and family with our wedding photographs since we've received them; and which Danny delivered in record time. I'm in complete awe of how Danny was able to capture the vibe of our wedding in such a natural way. It goes without saying that wedding photographs aren't just for the couple, but also for the friends and family. So I want to share some verbatim messages I received from our attendees (who include people who work in the fashion industry, my highly critical family and people who have gone to at least 8 weddings last year) which really underscore Danny's stellar photography skills: "HOLY $H!T YOUR WEDDING PHOTOS!!
