1 star -- I wish I could give zero.
My husband thought he was renewing his passport online. He wasn't.
GovAssist makes the process look and feel like you're applying online, but what you're actually paying for is someone to fill out a form and mail you a printed copy. Then you have to send the application to the U.S. State Department and you still have to pay the actual passport fee.

The most frustrating part is how easy it is to come away believing you're dealing with an official passport service. You're not. GovAssist is a private third-party company, and they don't actually submit your passport application to the government for you.
Had he understood that from the beginning, he would never have used them.
