I had BK for breakfast this morning, but for supper last night I walked across the street to the barbecue joint. One of the best I've been to! The truck parking is huge, it never gets full. All the people inside are super nice and hospitable, just what you would expect in the south! The showers are huge, and they have Smart mirrors with Android platform, and a rain simulator shower head. Oh and laundry facilities which I am utilizing right now. They even have a dog wash hahaha Pretty good size gift shop, pretty good size food court, everything you would need. So I decided to fill up the gas tank as well. Employees were super friendly. I was able to quickly find the items I needed along with a couple of impulse purchases. But who can leave Buc-cee's without at least one beaver souvenir? Restroom was very clean in usual Buc-ee's style.

That alone was worth the stop, but the rest of the experience was less than expected. By the pumps, there are no windshield washer squeegees anywhere, so you cannot clean the bugs off of your windshield. The pay-at-the-pump interface was frustrating. It would not accept my Discover card. I used my Visa, and it locked into selling me only 15 gallons. The only great part of the refueling experience was the price and the zero wait for a pump because they have so many of them. Also, this location has a car wash, and the purchase option was imbedded in the gas purchase--I didn't want it, but accidentally got it. I guess that would be one way to clean the windows, but be aware as you're trying to buy gas. Inside: The inside is huge. It's like someone took a Walmart and placed restrooms and food kiosks in the center of it. The women's bathroom was awesomely clean. It's huge with individual doored stall-rooms along the walls with green (open) and red (busy) lights above the door, so you can quickly find a stall that's open. The entire center of the bathroom is full of sinks/soap/paper towels. It was spotlessly clean and the highlight of the whole experience. Food: Having seen another Yelp review, we got 2 XXL BBQ Brisket sandwiches and Buc-ee's chips and 2 $0.99 fountain drinks. We also picked up a small bag of chocolate covered pretzels. That lunch cost us $41, and there was nowhere to sit to eat it. The expectation is that you go back out to your car to eat. After being in the car for 6 hours, I didn't want to eat in the car, so we found a lamppost in the shade that we used as a "table" and stood to eat. Service: Everyone working at this location was helpful and friendly, so the service is great. Recommendation: If you are looking for a clean bathroom and cheaper gas--this is an awesome place to stop!! Of course, the cheaper gas price is how they draw you in, then they make up the loss in inside sales, especially food. There are many food choices, which is also good, as long as you intend to eat in the car. If you get the BBQ sandwich, I would get the one without the sauce.

From tshirts, hats, aprons, keychains, toys, brownies, fudge, candy, burritos, cupcakes, muffins, lemon pepper turkey jerky, chips, sandwiches, brisket, turkey and a plethora of other things.... It will get pricey if you don't stop yourself.

They have some of the cheapest gas around Birmingham so if I'm in this area, I almost always fill up here. Last week, I wanted a drink so I decided to go inside. This gas station is huge! It's like a truck stop gas station with showers and everything. There was also a station with fried chicken and other hot food. In the drink section, you will find every drink you can ever imagine and more! I got a Snapple in the Mango Madness flavor. So good! Fruity, but not too sweet! It was perfect for me. There were several cashiers working the register. The one I got was super friendly and seemed happy to be working there! Might as well. You get to work in by far the nicest gas station around Birmingham.
