They nearly…read moresabotaged my wedding, and the only reason they didn't is because I found another caterer in time. The food is mediocre at best, but a lot of their stuff just tastes really bad. I think they use a lot of frozen items. My fiance (now husband) and I were referred there under the impression that we'd save money with them. Business-wise, things went smoothly until Teri Leiter herself decided to take over our event. This is truly a person who has no business running a catering company, and I'm shocked they've stayed in business this long under such poor entrepreneurship. She was flaky and inattentive. When I sent her an email of our budget, instead of working with me and making suggestions, she waited a month to respond to our attempts at contacting her, only to tell us she wouldn't cater our wedding unless we spent more money. Caterers have minimums, I understand, but it's clear that she was trying to back us into a corner so we'd have no choice but to pay her, given that she waited until a month before our wedding to impart such vital information, and most other companies need more notice than one month. Fortunately, we weren't stuck with them and were able to find a wonderful caterer with organic delicious food for much less money - The Savory Spoon Catering Company in Frederick, MD. I gave Savory Spoon our budget and within 24 hours they came up with a lovely menu for us that fit our budget. I learned you don't have to settle for substandard just because you have a budget, and believe me, Leiter's so-called "fine" catering is definitely substandard.

Sometimes I forget they are right in our back yard. We made reservations because I saw online that they highly recommend to make them. However, when we got in, it was totally empty, I guess we were one of the first reservations, but it didn't matter we like it like that. We were seated and then offered drinks to start. The menu was set up a course meal. That day, we have a 4 course meal. Appetizer, Soup, Entree and Dessert. We started off with bread that came with a chive dip. Usually you get butter but this was better. Bread was crispy and the dip was tangy and almost ricotta flavored & textured, paired great together. We then got our cocktails of the month, and old fashioned and blackberry margarita. It was very tasty and strong! Then we got soup, we had broccoli cheddar soup. The soup surprised us because it was green instead of yellow like other places make. Regardless of color, the soup was delicious. Then our entree came. I had the scallops and my husband had the Filet Mignon. Now these portions are huge!!! The steak was perfection! Pink throughout and seasoning out of this world! The steak soaking in the sauce with potatoes and veggies, was phenomenal! My scallops was made perfect! Not too chewy or hard, was very flavorful and just delicious! Then after digesting we found the strength to eat our desserts. I have a mixed berry with a myers sabayon and hubby got sticky rice with mangos. Let's just say this put into a food coma! Everything was beyond what I expected and definitely had me talking about this meal for months. I am truly happy that this place isn't too far from our house because we will be going back again! She cares more about her paycheck, than the safety of the families/friends attending a wedding! Working with her was one of the worst experiences. Please be very cautious if considering a wedding there, we were suppose to get married 4/5/20, but rescheduled because Maryand shut down. Rescheduled for 6/7, still shut down, so rescheduled for 4/11/21. Seeing reviews where people got married in April-August... wow!!! Things were shut down here!! We decided to push back/cancel for now because it's not responsible to have 100+ people together (per the cdc and state, even the county says you can't dance together if not living together- not at all what we signed up for). Mary Beth was cold, uncaring, and huge reason for this post!! Linganore did the responsible thing, and reimbursed our deposit. Mary Beth is the coordinator for them AND the ONLY catering company allowed (Fine cuisine). After emails back and forth, they gave us less than half our deposit. Cold responses. This is a pandemic! Money hungry! I'm upset to not have our wedding, and planned out for Linganore, now we'll find another location in the future. Beautiful, reasonable prices, great wine.... but do not book if only Fine Cuisine and Mary Beth!! The Chef's son, at Fine Cuisine, was who I ended up corresponding with and he didn't care. They got their money, and that's it. They were willing to hold our deposit though until 2025 when we plan to reschedule, ridiculous! Mary Beth also said if we didn't use it by July, we'd lose it. What a joke!

The staff were also inattentive and did not assist with the cake cutting. My husband and I did not receive a piece of our cake because toward the end of the event, the staff had already disposed of the extra. In addition, it appeared that they had served us the wrong type of potato. Days after the event, my husband and I composed a polite and thought out email to express our concerns. We were hoping for at least an acknowledgement of our concerns and an apology. Instead, we received a rude email, which basically blamed us for all of the issues we expressed. At this point, I was very upset and responded with an email laying out timelines and illustrating exactly why they should at least take some responsibility. To this, I received an email simply supporting Fine Cuisine's previous email in a more polite way. When I responded to request that the issues be addressed, I was ignored. I was left feeling extremely offended and unacknowledged. It seems that after receiving their money, they no longer care about client satisfaction. The issues at the event could have been easily dealt with. It was the way I was treated after the event that leads me to leave this review and NOT recommend this catering company.

And the absolute worst was the cheese, slices of American cheese food, individually wrapped in plastic. Very tacky.

Basically, he made delicious food (bbq'd onsite so everything was freshly prepared) that was beautifully served and it was in abundance. He was available by phone to answer questions, make changes to the menu, etc. What also stood out were his servers - friendly, professional, available for water refreshing, taking away plates, etc without being hasty or in the way just very polite and on hand to serve guests. Everything went smoothly and all this for reasonable cost. Don't look further if you want a full on bbq for any occasion. Papa Os is the best - guests were praising the food and service too.

They asked a bunch of questions in advance, from what level of formality the servers should dress at to questions about dietary needs for our guests. They were able to accommodate a handful of vegan guests, and communicated with us and offered suggestions to perfect the menu and event to fit our vision. Thanks to their knowledgeable staff, the event went very smoothly, and we all had a wonderful time! Thanks, Leiters' for helping make our special day stress-free and joyful!
