Very curated vintage store with a strong focus on quality. The selection feels carefully chosen, with great fabrics and unique pieces, it's easy to get lost browsing through everything. The layout is well done and makes shopping enjoyable, even though the space isn't huge. You can tell a lot of effort goes into sourcing these items, likely from flea markets, antique shops, and various vintage spots, all brought together in one place. That said, there is definitely an overpriced feel throughout the store. It's somewhat expected given the curation and the Venice location, but still noticeable. Service was great -- very friendly and welcoming. They had no issue with us coming in with two small dogs, and we were able to take our time and enjoy the experience. Parking in the area is not easy. You might find some free street parking in nearby residential streets, but close to the store it's quite difficult. That said, the whole area is worth a visit. It's very unique to Los Angeles, and whether you're a local or a tourist, there's so much to see around, from the beach to all the quirky shops and stalls along the promenade. read more

I came into this shop yesterday day and tried on a shirt priced at $225. I loved it but wanted to come back with my daughter to get a second opinion. When I returned the today, they let me try the shirt on again and I decided to buy it. I was then told the shirt was actually $325. When I mentioned it had been $225 the day before, the owner said she wasn't even sure she wanted to sell it and ultimately refused to sell it to me saying "I'm just not sure I want to part with it." This was especially odd since the day before we had a pleasant conversation and she seemed perfectly willing to sell it. I'm not sure why I was allowed to try something on TWICE if there was no intention of selling it. Very strange and unprofessional experience. What a waste of time. My daughter lives across the street and she and her friends frequently shop here, but none of us will be returning. What weirdos. read more

I went to check out this place yesterday and one of the business owners was yelling at her employee about break times, which was unprofessional and an uncomfortable situation to put your customers in. Your former employee was half your age, but she wasn't the one throwing a tantrum and yelling like an infant. This place will try to squeeze every last Penny from you. I went in one day and purchased $230 worth of clothing and nic-naks one day. One of the pieces was a little suitcase full of nail tending utensils. There were two of them to choose from. I asked the sales lady how much they were. She said $35, which any logical person would assume meant that was the price for each of them. One was a little more tattered up than the other, and since I like things that look rough I asked for that one. Not once did she say "it's cheaper because it's worn looking" mind you. So I get home and inspect it and notice that one of the two clasps is broken (which would have been a nice thing to tell me). As this was a gift for a friend who has slight OCD I decided to keep this one for myself and called the store asking if they still had the other one. They affirmed they did, and I shared with them I would be driving up from Long Beach (an hours drive) and asked if they could save it for me. They agreed. So I get there expecting to pay $35 and all of a sudden now it's $50? I asked why the change and they said basically said it was always more and we were so nice that we already removed the price that was on it so you can't prove it. Bunch of lying women. Looking back on it all their stuff is ridiculously over priced. I'm sure this review won't matter to them because I'm sure most of their business is preying on gullible tourists anyways. But because of your awful business practice I'll never spend another dime with you. read more

Pros: amazing collection, high end vintage, some of the most pieces I've ever seen. Truly amazing. Cons: all sales final, dark dressing room, average price $60-$200, heavy security presence. Side note: The security tag wasn't removed on the piece I purchased, I had to pay an $80 car fair to return to the store to get removed and the owner was kind enough to refund me for the trouble. Their quality is unbeatable, their selection always fun, and they actually date give provenance to their pieces. That takes dedication. So yes, is it more expensive than your average thrift store? I'd been wanting to pop in here for a few years. The stuff is wayyy overpriced. Ex) Kitchsy / concert tees for $75+. But worse than spooky prices--after putting several items in a dressing room, my child needed to use a restroom and my mom motioned to take him next door to Mao's where we'd just eaten...and the owner stopped with interrogations and a likely intention to frisk her for "the child putting something in her pocket". Woman running the store is not very welcoming. It was raining and I saw a customer come in. There's no rug to wipe your feet and she kicked the customer out for having wet shoes even after the customer offered to clean. I spoke with her later and that customer admitted she was blind and felt bad she couldn't see very well and notice how wet her shoes were. So if you're disabled this may not a safe or accessible place for you. Also the clothing is way over priced for the quality. read more

It doesn't even deserve one star if I'm being completely honest so last week I was looking around. This lady (looks like the owner) was staring into my soul as if I was going to take something (which I would never do) and I asked why she was staring me down so hard, she didn't say anything and continued to stare me down and started to make smart remarks. From a buyer's standpoint - decided to pop in and found a unique dope piece. It wasn't in great condition and would have needed some TLC, so I decided to bargain - as one does at a vintage shop - to see if they would come down on the price. The owner was so rude about it that it turned me off of paying the sticker price, which I honestly would have. While my partner and I were ruminating on it in front of the mirror, she even made a snarky under her breath comment suggesting we should just buy something we can afford. I CAN afford it, but cool classism, lady. From a seller/consignment standpoint - why would you want to have such a rude bitter person representing your items and basically sabotaging a sale? I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, especially if they're having a bad day. I decided to explore Venice for the first time on my birthday and I had this shop on my list of places to visit. I was so excited to check it out as a lover of thrifting and vintage but after going through the clothes despite them obviously being old hardly anything seemed to be in good condition. When I did find something I thought was cute it was way overpriced. The shop owner was extremely rude which I thought was so weird and I left upon her making a comment to my fiancé. When we walked outside I was like why was she so negative and even said "I should leave her a bad review." Which I never do. Walked into this spot as I LOVE thrifting and vintage. Had some unique pieces but they were very overpriced, she was asking $175 for a piece that definitely had some wear and tear. The owner was really eyeing me down, it seemed as though she was expecting me to try and steal something- which I would never do. When I went to try something on she made a remark about "you need to count how many pieces she has." Big and very stacked. Full of treasures. Has been here more than the 16 years I have been around. Prices are moderate, you can spend hrs here sorting thru. Stuff hanging everywhere, on walls, from ceiling, a treasure trove! I love coming in here for a lil retail therapy, then pop in next door to eat, at Mao's Kitchen. My white friend bought a jacket and used her credit card. I was next and paid with my credit card and she asked for my ID. Her coworker looked at me and I felt embarrassed and insulted when seconds before she didn't question my white friend and her purchase and credit card. The irony of them selling a bowl full of ceramic colored "right on" fists trinkets in the front of their store. Do not give this store the time of day!! You would be supporting a really negative person and I think that she should do something else with her life. She is very unhappy it seems. Basically a friend and I were shopping around trying on glasses and I was holding a pair of clip on earrings when an employee who stated she was the owner approached me and told me to hand her the earrings and get out. When I asked why, she told me she knew every trick in the book and insisted I leave and never come back. I suppose she thought I was going to steal the clip on earrings LOL I was considering trying them on while looking at all the other options first. She was literally screaming at my friend and I. We were the only ones in the store except another employee eating Chinese food. No one said anything to us when we walked in. On Wednesday May 31 @ 5:30 Pm my husband and I was shopping in this store. There was a Tag sale .. red tags were all $10. We found a jacket that was clearly marked with a red tag but when we checked out the store Mgr stated " I'm sorry but I can not let you have this red tag jacket for $10, it was tagged by mistake by one of our workers .. it was clear to me that she simply didn't want me to buy it at such a low cost . Just left the store and wow! As soon as I walked in, the girl TOLD me " so you can put your food Here" I said it's not food, it's my books . She said "oh". Then I looked around, the store is actually looked cool and I shop in vintage stores from nyc to la. I told her you have a really cool shop. Her response was ... I brought a couple of 1960's hats in terrific condition in for sale or trade. They were a little on the small side and the lady at the counter laughed at them and told me that she wasn't interested in kids hats. I felt so embarrassed and disrespected that I almost went back in and told her how rude this was. I understand that she wasn't interested in buying or trading because they were too small. But she literally could not have been more mean or rude in telling me "NO." Summer 2009 the place was Venice. The time was after lunch. When I walked into the vintage store I was aroused by the place and its potential for great selection seeing a women trying out an awesome Army Uniform jacket with cool gold braided details, and then another perfect fit jacket. I quickly began to lose interest when I turned over a bunch of price tags and couldn't find anything under $25 bucks. There was also some kind of coded language I didn't yet understand because some stuff wasn't priced at all except for printed playing card tags. The racks are really densely packed, i felt like i did some weight pulls separating clothes. I guess I'm just poor, but if you have a larger wallet you'll be happier. There was a limited selection of fun costume stuff and as always not guy heavy on selection. Something most thrift stores suffer from. The Accessories and jewelery selection at the front was kinda small and uninspired. The lady behind the counter was very standoffish and had no interest in asking what you were looking for. I would not visit this place again, visiting once is enough. Feb/2010--- I am told that a bad employee during the summer is responsible for the negative experiences some people like myself have had, not being able to check on this myself I simply add that the store might now be better in the customer service dept. not sure about the prices. read more

I wish it was possible to give this place 0 stars. First of all, from a costumer standpoint, all of there items are completely overpriced. Now from a sellers standpoint, I went in to sell and the women working was so incredibly rude I could not believe it. I had an amazing pair of genuine snake skin boots and a gorgeous authentic knee length fur coat I was ready to sell. I had also had a suitcase of some summer clothes in the trunk of my car so figured I would bring them in as well. These were clothes I had carried around in my trunk for a while and had wanted to get rid of them but had a hard time letting go of. The clothes were all way to small for me because they were all from last summer when I had a horrific eating disorder. I got really sick from the eating disorder and it was hard to even open the suitcase and see the clothes that reminded me of that time. It was a really hard thing to do but I was ready and I dropped my things off hours prior with one of the other girls who was working, she was very nice. She said her boss would take a look at everything and she would give me a call when she did to come back. They called a few hours later and as soon as I walked in the boss was really cold and rude. She went on to make comments about how "dirty" my clothes from the suitcase were in a disgusted manner. They had been in the suitcase for a while, but weren't "dirty." I just brushed it off. She then offered me $50 for some clothes from the suitcase AND THE FUR COAT AND SNAKE SKIN BOOTS. She had the coat and boots in a separate pile and when she offered the $50 she pointed to the pile from the suitcase. I accepted her offer assuming she was talking about giving me $50 only for the pile from the suitcase. After I realized she was talking about the coat and boots being included I declined that insane offer. She looked at me like I was crazy and said "I would NEVER give you $50 for these clothes they are DIRTY." She said this infront of the entire store it was humiliating. She was so rude and horrific that I would never step foot in this store ever again. I highly discourage anyone from supporting this women. That entire process was so already so difficult and she took it all to a new personal level and should be ashamed of her self. read more

I really like this place. Every time I go in here, I come out with an item that I'm always complimented on. Its vintage - so you won't like/want everything. And it can be overprice - IF - you don't know about what makes a good vintage piece. But law of attraction says - you will find something awesome if you just keep your mind and eyes open!
