This place has to be the queen of antique malls, and I've been to a number of them. It is truly vast and contains a very wide variety of artifacts from a) a very wide range of countries and b) a fairly wide variety of time periods. You can easily spend a couple hours in here. Victorian china and silverware? Check. Scandinavian ceramics? Check. Southeast Asian statues? Check. This is a place where it really pays to look carefully. There jewelry collection is pretty substantial and has a wide variety of pieces. I had one find that blew me away: an Ancient Roman bronze belt buckle that had been turned into a pendant. Circa 100 CE. Pretty sure it was the oldest thing in the building, but I can't be absolutely sure. The employees were delightful to talk to and were very helpful on getting prices and showing me things in display cases. I got into a long conversation with an art historian over the aforementioned belt buckle. Prices range. I bought a pair of beautiful pillows for under 35 dollars. But there are some pieces here that are either so rare, unusual or simply intrinsically valuable that they are going to be an investment. This is by no means a thrift-store. The Mart Collective is just the coolest! If you ever wanted to do some chic antique-ing in Los Angeles, this is the place to do it. It's a huge 16,000-square-foot space full of some modern, mostly vintage and some antique home goods, books and accessories. Important to know going in - This isn't Goodwill, it's more high end second hand shopping in Venice! However it's not as high end as a gallery and has no pretentious vibes. It feels comfortable walking around to scope things out. They have their own small parking lot but it fills up quickly and then cars camp for spots on the weekends. I've found that the earlier you go, the better. They have really cool pieces, unique items and everyone I encountered was friendly and eager to assist. They say they have 100 dealers there! The space is well organized so you don't feel claustrophobic despite being surrounded by stuff. Very cool space I'll be back to! They also list items on ebay! read more

The mart is a large, shared space with multiple vendors that sell mostly vintage and antique items. The vendors may or may not be at their spot when you visit. However, everything is for sale and you can buy it at the front desk. Some sellers leave signs with a percentage discount off their items. There are so many different types of products here. You can find vintage jewelry, paintings, clothing, furniture, records etc. All kinds of stuff. Store is well-organized with many high quality items. Customer service was A+! The associates are so friendly, nice and patient. I felt really welcome in this store. They were also very honest and transparent when I asked them questions about the merchandise. They were super helpful. It was really a pleasure to shop here because of the stellar employees! One of the pleasures of shopping for vintage and antique items in person is that you don't have to know exactly what you are looking for. Coming here you can fall in love with new things you didn't know existed! There aren't a lot of vintage/antique shops in Los Angeles anymore. So, this was such a treat for me. Everytime I come into this place, I'm followed around by employees creating an extremely unwelcoming environment. I always have to leave early because it just feels so awkward and uncomfortable. I understand the risk of shoplifters, but get cameras instead of making potential buyers feel targeted or profiled. read more

I live close to this location and I enjoy stopping in and taking a little tour every so often, to see what is available. Over the years, I have bought several items here. They have lovely antique stuff here. It's a bit expensive, but then it's not a thrift store. It's quality antique goods and furniture. I am an interior decorator, and I'm also a lifelong collector of many different types of antique or vintage items. I love to browse ... and buy! I've thrifted and antiqued all over the world. I would say I'm an expert. The Mart Collective is by far THE BEST shopping experience of its kind in Southern California. I often drive up from San Diego to shop there and have bought many items over the years. The place is huge and packed with great items of all types and styles -- I typically spend at least two hours there. (I personally enjoy a place with LOTS of merchandise for the thrill of the hunt.) The quality of everything is quite high (no junky crap here), and although the prices may seem high, they are generally very reasonable for what's being offered. The service is GREAT. If you want to see something in a locked case, a helper comes fast. All the items have price tags, so you don't have to ask. Some items can be discounted if you ask at the front desk. Parking is ample and convenient. A cautionary note: If you're a bargain-hunter who is happy with cheap stuff, this place is not for you. The selection is interesting and well merchandised. The problem is dealing with ROBIN at check out. She is rude to everyone. Staff and customers alike. An unfiltered kind of rude. Eye rolling, condescending, and demeaning. If there is someone less suited to working with the public, I have yet to meet them. The Mart Collective is a very large antique/art store full of all kinds of very interesting items. In fact, this shop has one of the best selections of unique and vintage objects of anywhere in the greater Los Angeles and Orange County area. It's really a store stocked full of all kinds of surprises. Some of the reviewers discuss that the prices are high at this antique mart and that there is no negotiation in price. The level of quality of the items at this business really speaks for itself. It's kind of like the old saying, if you have to ask then you probably can't afford it. Meaning, you don't go into this place and expect to negotiate for a better price because what they offer is really top notch. On a curious note, I do find it interesting that the employees of this store will commonly follow customers around, trying to be all nonchalant, as they are trying to see if there is any shoplifting taking place. I guess they just don't have enough cameras on the shop to be able to sit back and watch what the customers are doing from a single screen. Though I find this a bit amusing, I imagine some other people would take this very personally. What I'm saying is, don't be surprised if everywhere you turn, down every aisle, there will be one of the employees looking at you out of the corner of their eye while they are pretending they are doing something else. Don't take it personally. Just try to be amused. Overall, as stated, this is one of the best shops if you want to find that truly high-quality antique or art piece. This is a fairly large, free standing antique store. Just as other reviewers have stated, the majority of the merchandise is on the pricey side, but you'll find some unusual items here. They sell all kinds of things, including furniture; paintings; jewelry; sculpture; clothes; you name it. If you can't find parking in the front, there is also free parking in the back. It looks like it's their parking lot, since the back door opens right to it. Oh, by the way, the majority of the time I was in the store, I had one of the employees following me around, to make sure I wasn't going to shoplift. Poor guy, what a horrible job! Need last minute silverware ?? This is the spot. I was initially so excited to find this place, however, this place is so so over priced ! Omg ! The basket collection & silver implements are abundant and at a GREAT price point, ( I would buy out the whole basket collection instantly !but I've down sized, can you say..hygge with a lavish smile?) BUT -- everything else - if your less impetuous, Etsy beats their pricing & selection. The hunt is not fun here, more employees than customers. They are completely oblivious to the art of bartering, its 10% off this & 10% off that.... uugghh, boring & sleepy. Cultivating relationships is not their forte. The Mart Collective is a fun place to browse antiques and vintage items. Yes, some of the items are on the pricier side, however, a lot of the booths have discounts, so make sure you keep an eye on the signs. The store itself is pretty massive and they everything from artwork to handmade pieces, housewares, clothing, and a ton of jewelry. The place is pretty organized, so it's easy to navigate and see things without tripping on something. Because of its size, it's easy to maintain social distancing, even when there's a good amount of people inside. There were plenty of staff members walking around to help you if you needed something. There were a few handwritten labels that we couldn't read and one of the employees was quick to go do some price checks/hold items for us at the front which was much appreciated. Plenty of parking is available in the back of the store or there's some limited street spot out front. When you're done, this area has some great eateries if you're looking for a bite before or after. Worth a stop if you're in the area! read more

It's a huge store of random overpriced items and the staff makes it feel uninviting. Like seriously, they followed me and my friend literally every aisle as if they were going to accuse us of shoplifting every 2 minutes. It wasn't to be helpful, they just stared at us intently. When requesting to look at an item in the display case, they wouldn't let us hold it (it was worth less than $20). And when we were interested in buying something, they whisked it away to the front desk. An incredibly uncomfortable experience, especially since it seemed that we were the only customers they were doing this to. Stop profiling people, your bias is showing. read more

Literally the biggest scam. I have the same exact pint glass from the dollar tree from a few years ago they were selling for $15. Decorative glasses I've seen at tj maxx multiple times for $15 they had priced at $210. A newer art book with the cover tag on it for $37.99 they were selling for $395!? With that said they do have some cool pieces there. But it's a total scam and everything is way over priced. read more

I found 2 side tables and the staff wrapped them and placed them in my car. 5 star service! Prices are sometimes on the higher end, but the quality is excellent. If you are looking for silver and silver plate ,this is the place to go because they have silver flatware, silver jewelry, candle sticks, salt and pepper shakers, Southwest stuff. I was not looking for this. A little bit of American made pottery but way over priced. Maybe I am getting out and but 80 bucks for a Fiesta ware bowl is not for me. Also the art is crappy and way over priced. I was looking for oil paintings and all I saw were paintings in the 330=750 range. I think timing has something to do with prices, the inventory looked flat. I am always suspicious when a vintage store has a display of new stuff.. In this case these pastel vases were down the center and they looked like recently manufactured items mad to look old. so this was quite a disappointment. read more

I really wanted to like this place because some people I knew hyped it up for me. I came in looking for a few small home decorating and was shocked that an antique/vintage shop could charge so much for things that were dirty, falling apart, and from Tj Maxx (I saw a table centerpiece that was priced double the amount that the same piece was being sold at Tj Maxx). What a fantastic shop! I had no idea how immense it would be- you could spend hours here easily. My fiance and I dropped in today and we'll definitely be back! We both walked out with new treasures for our collection. The staff was helpful and plentiful, which is rare for shops like this. Usually you have to hunt someone down. Thanks to Susan who held our treasures while we browsed some more (I'm a slower browser than my partner) and was just so helpful. Robin the manager was bored at work and decided to ensure that she had someone to punish. She was so utterly and obviously positive that I would steal that she literally followed me around for a good 10 minutes. Everywhere I walked, so walked Robin. I even gave her a couple chances to walk somewhere else. It was so extremely insulting that I lost it a little bit. First of all, I wasn't wearing a bag or purse of any kind. I've been living in the neighborhood for 30 years and stopped in on my walk around the block. Add that the fact that I walked in wearing flip flops, tight leggings and a tight shirt and I wonder how I could have stolen something without it being obvious. As obvious as, say, Robin. I think it's because I didn't stare her directly in the eye as I walked in that she immediately branded me as a thief. This is despite the fact that I did look her co-worker in the eye as I said hello, and said hello to Robin. Perhaps Robin would benefit from understanding that eye contact is not a good measure of a thief, and that not everyone wants to prove themselves upon entry to an antique store. Other than that I was happy to see that the warehouse that had priorly been full of dusty old fabric has been turned into a museum-like display of lovely vintage knick knacks. read more

Really fun store, even just to browse. Appears to be a mix of true antique sellers and smaller boutique type stalls trying to run a business. Great for home decor pieces and design inspiration. Prices probably fair as far as antiques go, but more expensive than thrift or consignment stores. read more
