Fredy Horta was great to work with. I had him reupholster an antique telephone bench first because the original silk fabric was falling apart. His selection of fabrics were great and I selected a fabric that was more durable. He also replaced the old foam with new foam making the telephone bench like new. Fredy was very responsive and easy to communicate with. He did such a great job on the telephone bench that I had him reupholster 3 bar stools with new "fake" leather and new foam seats. See the before and after photos of the bar stool and telephone bench. Definitely recommend Fredy and Venice Interiors for reupholstering and custom furniture. read more

We had a relatively small job and went to Venice Interiors on the strength of many great Yelp reviews. Freddy helped us find the perfect fabric, a navy microsuede, for two oblong couch pillows. We also needed to reupholster four dining table chair seats in black leather, and they also replaced the seat foam, making the 15+ year old chairs look and feel brand new. Freddy gave us a time estimate of one week, and the job was finished on time. Everything was perfectly done and looks flawless! He also gave us the remainder of the leather we purchased to cover the chair seats. We will be back for all of our reupholstery needs! Very pleased with the service and quality of the work. read more

Fredy was amazing to work with. I had him reupholster a vanity chair and it turned out even better than I imagined. The craftsmanship is beautiful and you can tell he really cares about the details. He was easy to communicate with, super responsive, and just genuinely kind throughout the whole process. It's rare to find someone who does such high quality work and is also so pleasant to work with. I would absolutely use him again -- so happy with how my chair turned out. read more

Fredy did an A+ job reupholstering an antique chair that I'd bought on 1st dibs, which had been cheaply upholstered to flip. I'd found a remnant of a very expensive fabric on eBay at a fraction of its retail cost, and while it was barely enough for the job, Fredy made it work. He also rebuilt the seat and added new, thicker padding to make the chair twice as comfortable as it had been. I highly recommend Fredy! read more

These have been in the family for years. Each actually fit the space perfectly so when they were looking quite old I had to debate new or reupholstered? Since they are sentimental I went with reupholstered and sought out where to go. I found Venice Interiors and Freddy who is so professional. He does the work. He knows his stuff. I highly recommend Venice Interiors for all your needs. Let me see if I can add before and after pictures of both my small chair and the bench. read more

Spectacular workmanship finished ahead of deadline! This CB2 chair was purchased on Craigslist with some stains that could not be removed. I loved the form and comfort of it so much that I decided to give it new life with custom fabric. The cost to reupholster was $700 (plus the cost of fabric) so while not cheap the workmanship is well worth it given quality. The chair looks beautiful and seamless. Overall super happy and will use these guys again in the future. read more

I'm not sure how I found Venice Interiors, but I'm sure glad that I did! I had two bad experiences with a referral service that kept sending handymen to do upholstery repair. They kept asking me: "What do you want me to do?" This was very odd since if I knew what to do, I would be doing the work myself. Finally, I contacted Venice Interiors and they knew exactly what needed to be done. They handled getting the sofa from and to my home. The price was reasonable -- especially for the work done. And most important, the quality was superb. I feel like I have a new sofa! In the meantime, I already have another item there being worked on. 100% recommended. Thanks, Freddy and team! read more

Recovered a loveseat and very happy with how it came out. Always great to work with, and great knowledge of fabrics.

I highly recommend Venice Interiors!!! Freddy Horta is the owner, and Antonio works with him. They did an outstanding job revamping, remodeling, and reupholstering my/our vintage, 1957 sofa. This sofa was made by my grandfather (who lived in Venice and was a master upholster) as a wedding gift for my mom and dad. I have seen the couch revamped four different times, and this transformation is really perfect! I communicated to Freddy that I envisioned my piece to be made more comfortable, updated, change the stitching and styling, make it deeper, higher, change the legs, seat and back cushions, add a substantial custom ottoman, and do this piece in quality leather. Freddy added his touches, he made great suggestions, and he perfectly executed the concepts I had in mind. He was always responsive, informative, and he kept his own personal deadline of creating the piece in 2-weeks, which fulfilled. I am so very happy with this custom piece. It is beautiful, functional and very comfortable. He used high quality materials, and said it should last 50 years easily. Someone came into his shop while my sofa was there, and they commissioned Freddy to create the same couch in a smaller size. Thank you so much Freddy and Antonio! Additional bonus, his shop is easy to get to, and it's right next door to what I think is the BEST Mexican Restaurant, Casablanca!! Helene Pisciotta-Di Salvo Venice, CA read more

I can not say enough good things about this establishment. Freddy was so professional and efficient. I knew right away that I had the right guy. The reason I went there in the first place was because of all the great reviews they had on Yelp. Well they did not disappoint. I needed slipcovers made for a couch and 2 chairs. They came and picked up my furniture and delivered them back in one week with the new beautiful slipcovers. I will be going back to have some cushions recovered along with a couple pillows, especially now that I see what great work they do and the huge choice of fabrics. I would recommend this place to anyone who just wants a job done quickly and correctly. read more

I contacted a few other Companies before hiring Venice interiors, so I'm so happy I picked this one - Freddy is excellent. I had two cushions custom made for two different spaces and they turned out amazing. Freddy helped me pick the fabrics, came to the house to measure the spaces, and delivered them at home (I live close by). Btw This business takes credit cards. My cushions were made timely. In addition, they repaired a dining chair. Extremely happy with their quality of work and customer service. read more

This place was AMAZING! I had dining room chairs that had seen better days and were in desperate need of recovering. Years of stains and lumpy stuffing had made them hard to sit on. I could see our guests recoil in horror. Fredy Horta did his magic on them and turned them into something out of Architectural Digest. His work is high quality and it is no shock that interior designers go to him for all their upholstery needs. I risk letting the secret out of the bag but he was too good to not to sing him praises. Fredy has an impeccable eye. I think he needs to design his own furniture line and told him so. I thoroughly enjoyed talking to him and working with him on my little project. I brought my own fabric and he honestly told me that it wasn't strong enough to withstand the wear and tear of a chair used daily. His recommendation to get it lined was the right call. I am planning more projects with his company. read more

Wow-- This place is so awful-- morally bankrupt-- 100,000% bait and switch! A few days ago I needed to get a sofa cushion re-upholstered-- the cushion was 6' x 27" x 6". I called and spoke with the owner and here's how this went: Me: "Hi there, I have a sofa cushion that measures 6' x 27" D x 6" T. I want a quote to get it reupholstered." Him: "Okay, so it's a cushion that's 6' x 27" D x 6"T?" Me: Yes. Him: "What kind of fabric do you like?" Me: "I have a cowhide, with fur I would like to use-- I also have the fabric for the underside of the cushion. All I need is the labor" Him: "Okay, okay, that'll cost $80. No more than $80." Me: "Fantastic, I'll be there in about an hour." So when I arrive to the shop, the owner approaches me and says, "Oh you must be Laney." Yes I replied, and shook his hand. His employee then helped me carry in the cushion and cowhide, I carried in the backing. He laid everything out, then asked the owner in Spanish (kind of crappy considering everybody there spoke perfectly fine English) How much for the labor. The owner said something back-- I didn't understand, then the guy said; "Oh, that's going to cost at least $250." What?! I said "Uhm... Didn't you say $80?" The owner said: "Oh, well you said the cushion was 58", not 6'." Me: "No, definitely not. I said 6'. You even repeated it back." Him: "Nope, you said 58." Me: Definitely not. Why would i say 58" when I know very well it's 6'?" Him: It's $250. Of course I said that what they were doing was wrong. The guy was just an ass and huffed off. I took my cushion, hide, and fabric and promptly left. Maybe it was my Louis Vuitton purse-- who knows-- but even if I said it was 58" (which I totally did not-- I 100% said 6') but lets just say I did say it was 58"... how in the heck does the price jump from $80 to $250 over a difference of 14"? Ridiculous-- buyer beware-- these people aren't upholsterers, they're fisherman... looking for their next bait and switch! read more

I was a little hesitant to use the Brass Tack because the outside of their building isn't very nice, and I have expensive Crate and Barrel couches. I bought a brand new Z Gallerie sofa for $3500 and 2 weeks after getting it delivered my cat's nail hooked the main seat cushion. After getting over the initial devastation, I went on YouTube to see how to repair it and decided it was above my pay grade. I went on Yelp and saw great reviews for this upholstery place on Lincoln Blvd in Venice. It was a bonus that they opened at 8 so I could get it there before work. I carried this heavy pillow, drove over, and it was looked at within ten seconds of walking in. He told me sadly bc it's chenille it couldn't really be repaired, but he could use a needle and some glue to help it at least look better. 2 min later and he graciously said 'no charge', I walked out with my pillow looking almost good as new. I'd definitely bring stuff back here if I needed anything else. It's nice to know there are good people out there. read more

I found an old junked out chair and thought it would be a great candidate for some rehab. I called the Brass tack since they are close to my house and they told me to send them some pictures and they could give me a quote. I took some pics and they emailed me back a quote and said he could do it for surprisingly cheap if I used some of the fabrics thye already had in stock. I swung by on Monday and found a good bit of fabrics and chose one that I liked. I mentioned that I wanted to update the style a bit and get rid of some of those dated upholstery nail things and have some piping put on. The owner or manager was a nice guy and he said it would probably take about 2 weeks. he didn't need a down payment or anything. He just gave me a receipt and I was on my way. I figured two weeks would give me enough time to stain and refinish the wood work that went with the piece. Well 4 days later I got a call and he said the chair was done. I came by and the chair looked mint! They did a way better job than I had imagined. They went above what they said they would do and replaced the worn batting and the chair looks and feels brand spanking new. So: Super quality work Fast work Nice local business Honest Affordable If you have a project you can take it there and they will give you a variety of option for different price points and different uses. A few years ago I wanted to get some chairs recovered and stumbled upon Venice Interiors. They did an amazing job recovering for dining chairs for me and I was really satisfied with the work. A few weeks ago I decided I wanted to get another chair recovered and after sending out messages on Yelp to get quotes back, Venice Interiors was once again the lowest priced option. I dropped my chair off about two weeks ago with pretty mediocre expectations. I told Freddy that if he had extra fabric left over, if he could make me another pillow with it that would be awesome. I left and honestly almost forgot about the chair! Freddy called me to tell me my chair was ready and I went in this morning to pick it up and I am not lying when I tell you that I almost cried when I saw it! It exceeded all my expectations and was so incredible! I was shaking for like 30 minutes afterwords because that's how impressed I was and excited to get my new chair back into my house! I was referred here by a friend. I had a small job- 2 cushions for a chair. The bid was fair, the work done before expected time, got a call to let me know about early pickup, and the quality is excellent. Freddy is professional - efficient with those customers who are pros and patient with those I saw who are selecting fabrics and have a thousand questions. (code for: he did not make me wait an hour to process my quick order) I had a fabric with a difficult line pattern to match and they did a very good job of matching the pattern not only cushion to cushion, but the front & sides as well. I have been a customer for years. I went into the shop in Summer '21 with a design for 2 lounge mattresses. The proprietor took the details, warned me that price of foam had gone very high since the pandemic, and calculated a very high quote for me which I swallowed and accepted. He also told me that I would have to source the fabric myself as backorders were common. Several weeks later, fabric in hand, I returned to the store ready to commence the job. Without looking at his notes or previous quote he immediately told me that the price would be higher and they were busy so the job would take 6 - 8 weeks. I told him I was fine with the time but that he had already told me about high material costs when he calculated the cost the first time. I was waiting for him to look up the quote before we continued the price discussion but while 'searching' he uttered something about being very busy. I told him it seemed he didn't want my job. He pointed to the door and told me I am free to go elsewhere, which is what I did. I feel like he is a hothead who is gouging people. I guess he is doing it because he can. Shame. read more
